Standing at the bottom of a large outcrop of rock in the Ruto Highlands. Stands a dark figure, all his clothes are black, his hair is also black, he has red eyes that burn like cinders. There is only one person in Hyrule who dresses like this and his name is Raven. He stands there looking up at the outcrop, with a look of longing he tries once again to do what he had been trying to do for the past several hours. He crouches down and stays in this postion for a few moments before leaping with all his might into the air. Only to leap a foot in the air. Frustrated he slams his foot down, right onto a small rock, and his shoes not having the sturdiest of soles means that he feels the rock impact his foot as if he were barefoot. The pain slowly builds in his foot - from a dull pain into an ache - he takes his foot of the rock and pain is gone as quickly as it arrived. He picks up the rock as hurls it into the barren wastes of the Highlands, watching as it kicks up a small cloud of dust as if lands in the distance.

'What did that rock ever do to you?' A second figure arrived on the scene this one wore a black cloak, and drab brown clothes beneath it, his hair is red and wild and he also had green eyes which always seemed to be lonely and jaded. He had two swords sheathed at either side of his waist and judging by the scuffed and worn bindings of their hilts they had seen alot of action. Raven knew who it was and his sudden appearences no longer shocked him like they used to. It was his mentor and teacher, Red Fury.

'It hurt my foot.' Raven simply replied in monotone.

'Only because you trod on it.' Red pointed out.

'Why are you here anyway?' He whirled round. 'To offer some spitual advice how everything has feelings.'

'How could it have feelings its just a rock.' This comment made Raven begin to seeth. 'You should be more respectful to me. I'm the one who taught you most of what you know.'

'But not most of what you know.' He said bitterly. 'You said I could be greater than Blind. How can I be greater than him if I don't know a single spell!' He yelled.

'If you can supress your bile for a moment I will help you.' He calmly explained, although frustration was begining to creep through. 'You wish to learn the Jump spell don't you.' Raven slowly nodded his head. 'Well you are going around it the wrong way the power doesn't come from your legs, it comes from the ground. Usually when an object is stuck, like the rock you trod on, it returns the same amount of energy back to what stuck it. However when you use the Jump spell it changes it so that you get more back than you put in. It is the ground itself that pushes you into the air.'

'So instead of trying to concentrate on my legs. I should concentrate on the ground instead.' Raven then took several steps away from Red and tried once again. This time using the knowledge that he had passed on to him. He channeled his energy through his body to his hand and the Sheikah symbol tattooed on the back of it began to glow. As he continued to focus his energy a faint Sheikah symbol could be made out on the ground beneath his feet. Then with a single foot take off he shot off into the air and landed on the top of the outcrop of rock. The feeling of soaring through the air was exhilarating and he could not hide his joy at being able to pull off such a feat.
'Hey, Red did you see that.' He shouted down.

'I did, well done.' Red replied. 'I've got a question for you though.'

'What?' An excited Raven shouted.

'How do you plan to get down?'

Raven looked around him and his excitement faded. He could see no way of getting down. None that didn't require falling 14 feet to the ground. 'Uh. A little help.' He said sheepishly.

'Part two of your lesson. Remember to look where you leap.' Red replied.

'Very funny. Now, how am I going to get down.'

'There's another outcrop to your left you should be able to jump to it if you get a good run-up. You can get down from there.' He directed.

'You mean you aren't coming up to get me.' He shouted angrily.

'You'll feel better about yourself it you make it down on your own. You don't need my help you've allready made it down a mountain on your own so this should be no problem.'

'When I die, stay away from my funeral.' He replies as he takes the run-up to make the jump.

He makes the jump - barely - and then makes the rest of the way back down to solid ground easily. Even though he would like to protest what Red said was true and he did feel better making his own way down rather than having to be rescued. They would return to this spot again in the future to practice and learn other spells that Raven would need if he wished to be the greatest thief in Hyrule.
