(((OOC: Whoa Kesmi, you sound like HNS XD. About the rain thing, that might kill the elemental and end this fun fight prematurely. You wouldn't want to do that would you Kasei ? I think that speed is pretty relative, so it doesn't really matter, but it looks like Kasei is pretty fast. Who knows how things would work out, comparing Pyre's knowledge of the forest and Kasei's apparent speed?)))
~Pyre heard the fairy's signal, and leapt into action immediately. He wasn't sure if his blades would hurt the creature or not, but it seemed that Melody's persistant attacks were having some effect. He sprinted forward, with the speed that one only experienced in the heat of battle, quickly closing the gap between him and the fire elemental.
Soon his blade was in cutting range, and he sliced towards the middle of the ball of flame with his scimitar, his dagger following close behind. The hylian had no vital spot to target, and he wasn't sure if the attack would even work, so he simply put all his strength behind the stroke and cut through the middle of the fire.
Unfortunately in striking distance, it was incredibly hot, and when he lashed out with his blade, he could already feel his hand being burned. He gritted his teeth through the pain, but didn't let up. Melody had already gone through this again and again, so he assumed he could take a little pain. The ranger almost laughed out loud at the thought. It was usually thought that fairies were weak and frail, but it looked like that was far from the truth. Melody had attack with an unexpected vigor, striking the elemental over and over despite the heat. That alone helped him pull through with the attack.~

(((OOC: hehe, well I barely know HNS but I guess thats really saying something XD)))
Melody set a grim look on her face and watched as Pyre sliced relentlessly at the ball of fire. She knew that he was burning and felt slightly sorry for him. But only slightly. She knew that he went through this alot, and their main objective was killing this... thing.
She dived in, hoping to help Pyralin and bounced of the ball, this time it stinging a bit more than the last. With every bounce it hurt a bit more and she let out a small wail as she flew a long way back and flew with a flurry of energy and speed into the ball, sending sparks flying everywhere. She retreated some as they flew up and hit her, yet her glow was still just as bright as before, "Okay Pyre, it's time to end this. Here and now." she flung herself at it again and again, flinching everytime the fire burned her, now dark splotches of soot covering her dark burnt wings.
With the right spell she could most likely revive herself later, so she only set her mind to Pyre and...the creature they were fighting, forgetting all about Kasei. The fire got smaller with each hit and she backed up yelling to Pyre, "Now, this should be the final blow! Make it count!" she narrowed her eyes, hoping that it would finish the creature that had caused distruction everywhere it went.
She was still burning with rage from what had happened. Everything and everyone burnt. Corpses of burnt women, scarred by flames. No, not scarred, crisped. They're once white skin black and brown from the fire. If she had tears, she would cry, if she had enough power she would rip all the creatures like this one to shreds. Ever since she had met Pyre she felt differently about things. No, this wasnt a meeting by mere chance, this meeting had happened for a reason.

OOC: remember, Kasei is immune to fire, its his element, he is also believed IC to be immortal, though some people OOC *points at sovelis* know how to kill him, I think...or at least they have made pretty close guesses...back to in play...
oh, a side note, kasei is in fact weak to water, to a degree....and another thing, even though its Pyre's job to know the woods, kasei has lived longer, and explores these woods alot, i'm not saying he doesn't occasionally find a new area, such as with the kokiri, but still, he's probablly more experienced...
IC; Kasei smirked as pyre made a possibly useless attack on the fire creature. The rebel flame looked down on the enemy, taking an analistical approach to this situation...the enemy was made of fire, and apparently isn't immune to the affects of water, a weakness kasei himself is still having trouble with. Also, the fairies consitent attacks seem to actually be doing something to affect it.
Kasei had a plan, but for it to work, the fairy and Pyre had to get out of here, fast...he called down to them. "Hey, i'de get out of here!" He said, preparing to release the attack mentioned earlier....

OOC: Speed isn't affected by your surroundings, unless you're part of a faction. Of course, thats only Stat based. I suppose that could be understood in a RP battle. Otherwise, speed works like this: Whichever player has higher AGI attacks first.

(((OOC: For stat wise and agility wise that's true, but I'm think she's talking about how fast you can travel. Remember in Catastrophe Strikes when Dogura and Pyre traveled through the trees, arriving at Alpha first. That's what I'm saying applies.
Also, Kesmi, aren't you going to have the creature attack, or just sit there? I'll IM you about it. )))
~Now conflicting orders came to the ranger at once. While on one side, Melody was saying to attack, Kasei was saying to retreat. Seeing how he distrusted Kasei quite a bit, his choice came easily. It was time to finish things off. Or so he thought.
Pyre moved forward, taking heart from the thing's seeming passiveness, and rose his blade up into the air above the now diminished ball of flame. When he drove the scimitar deep into the center of the fire, he was dissapointed. Instead of banishing the creature, the blade simply sank in, having no other effect.
Unfortunately for Pyre, this time, it responded. (This is what Kesmi told me to describe on AIM). A tendril of flame shot from it, slamming him in the chest, and flinging him backwards. The force of the blow hit him all the way to the edge of the clearing, and he tumbled along the ground, slowly coming to a stop. Though the blow had hurt him quite a bit, he wasn't burned, and considered himself lucky.
When the hylian slowly rose to his feet, he saw that the fire elemental was slowly starting to grow in size again. It seemed that they hadn't hurt the monster as much as expected. Instead it looked like it was reading itself for another assault on the forest. Pyralin's arms were badly burned, and ached in pain. He didn't think that he could hold on much longer. All the hylian could do was pray to the goddesses and hope that by some turn of luck they could destroy the creature. If Kasei was to make his attack now would be the time.~

"What I tell ya? Oh well, this is the best i've got!" Kasei announced, then clapped his hands together. At once, his mouth seemed to bulge, and after a few seconds, Kasei opened his mouth, to unleash a waterfall's worth of water, this would effectivelly soak the ground, makin it easier for kasei's real attack. Jumping from the tree, kasei put the palms of both hand on the ground, and instantly, there was a disturbance. It just seemed like the ground was bubbling, but then, an orb of mud shot out at an angle, so that it was flying right towards the beast, another mud ball flew out, and another, and another...soon, an uncountable number of large mudballs were flying at the flame beast, this would effectifely put out the fire.
OOC: this is an attack that I haven't yet named, so it will not appear in my profile, got any ideas?
and no, this isn't a spu-of-the-moment attack, I used this before in HA2, in one of my older topics..can't remember witch one...

~Pyre watched as Kasei used the mud ball barrage. He doubted the elemental would have trouble flinging the missles aside, but also thought that it would create a perfect opening for an attack. He didn't think he had the strength or the fire power to destroy the creature at the moment, and hoped that the seemingly resourceful fairy could do something about it. The hylian had seen the water magic the fairy had cast, and had never experienced something like it. It seemed to be clerical in form, but in away unique to Nayru. It was an intriguing thought.
However, there was nothing he himself could do, so he called out to the fairy. "Finish it. Now. Try the same spell from before!"~

As the mud flew towards the fire elemental and struck it everywhere, it seemed at first that it had been defeated as it sizzled and bubbled in agony, but the as an ear splitting scream echoed from it, the balls of mud flew back, directly at Kasei, for if it hit, it would surely have an instant effect.
Melody grimaced, surely she hadnt thought that neither of them could finish it off, yet it seemed that way and she sighed. Now it was up to her. Conguring another Water Crescent she made a last and desperate prayer to Nayru and closing her eyes, clearing her mind, she opened them and released the humongous ring of white rushing water, aimed right at the heart of the fire, which was currently trying a trick of its own. Its firey tendrills were reaching out towards a tree as the ring hit it hard. Large sizzles and bubbled sounded from it, echoing throughout the forest and then all was silent. Not even the caw of a bird could be heard from within a two mile radius.
Melody didn't dare say a think as a dark violet smoke starting rising from the fire, spiraling around the trees, as if it were taunting them. As it drew near Melody, Pyre, and Kasei though, it hissed in agony and recoiled, dissapearing in the air. As the purple fog lifted, none was altered, not including the spot where the fire had been burnt out. Scarred into the ground was a symbol. Two initials, SG were entwined with swirls and slashes. Where this symbol was there was no grass, but a lone violet, standing proudly alone. Before their eyes it wilted and shriveled into black dust. Where the fire had raged earlier there was no sign of life.
Still hovering in the air, speechless, Melody coasted down to the ground where she regained her child form. She let out a quivering hand, reaching out to touch the mark. She let out a scream as she lay her palm down apon it, something that she would regret later on. She fell to the ground, breathing heavily, her eyes teared filled and wide. Where her palm had touched it blood was protruding. But not regular fairy blood, no, alas not. Her blood was as dark as night, as dark as the deepest shadow. Shadow. She rocked back and forth in a deep searing, blood broiling pain, as nothing she had experienced. Feeling as if her hand were caught on fire she took huge gasps of breath and stumbled up, "I'm...fine..." every word made her whole body shudder. Hiding her had under her sleave she panted, "It's nothing."
Trying to plaster a smile on her face, and trying speaking up a loud voice, "We did it! We defeated it." yet her voice came out in nothing more than a whisper, she turned around at the mark, "It's best to leave this kind of magic alone...yes indeed. This shouldn't be meddled with." her eye brows intwined into a deep frown, all faking aside. Her brown sleeve was now drenched with dark blood, she was loosing far too much blood, far too fast. Trying to muster up a healing spell, she cursed darkly under her breath as she could do nothing more than stall the bleeding for a matter of seconds. I don't have enough energy left to stop the flow of blood. she winced at the undieing pain. Not trying to look weak, she faced the others again, as soon as she was on her own she would find someone who could heal her, if she could even make it that far...

~Pyre sighed in relief as the crashing wave of water cut cleanly through the fiery creature, extinguishing the dread fire. He slowly rose from the spot where he had been flung by the elemental. His back ached a little, but nothing was really wrong with him. It seemed that the other two hadn't taken injuries either. That is until he heard a sizzle of burnt flesh and a scream of pain.
The ranger was instantly on the look out for another enemy, but saw that Melody had been scalded by the very remains of their opponent. He rushed to her side, and even as she assured them that nothing was wrong, he could see the dark blood soaking her garments. Pyralin was taken aback. Such injury was far from common, especially from a burn, but he didn't want to invade the faries privacy, so instead of inquiring into the wound, he said nothing.
The hylian didn't want to just leave her to slowly bleed to death. She needed to get some healing, so he closed his eyes, and put his hand over his chest. Beneath his tunic was a small pendant with three small gems, one red, one blue and one green. With these three points of light in mind, he made a prayer to the goddess, asking for aid for Melody. Just judging from the dark color of the blood, he could tell the injury was of a foul nature, and knew that even the favor of the goddesses wouldn't allow him to heal the wound completely. He hoped he would be able to at least stop the bleeding for some time.
As his prayer came to its conclusion, a mix of three colors of light converged on the fairy's arm. The goddesses had heard his call, and he could almost feel the tangible healing magic rushing through Melody's arm. Being a hylian, he had a close bond with magical energy, and smiled at his handiwork, despite the grim looks of the dark blood.~

OOC: forgetting 'bout someone, Pabru?
IC: The mudball shot strait towards Kasei, but it was useless, his extensive shiekah taining allowed him to jump the second he realized he was in danger, avoiding the mudball as it hit the tree behind him, the same one he was in earlier. Kasei landed on the ground, and witnessed the destruction of the beast at the fairies hands. He lookled amazed thatt someone who appeared so younge could defeat something he, a man who had lived for a hundred and more years, could not. Its only natural that the next generaton becomes greater then the existing one. That was what he told me. i guess I should trust- Kasei's thoughts were cut off by a scream, and he instantly knew who it came from, the fairy! Looking around, he spots her, curled up, with Pyre near her. The mercinary instinctively runs over to see whats wrong, and then spots it, blood, as dark as shadows. It was all over her clothes. Kasei himself, as long as he had lived, had only ever seen something similart to this once, a long time ago. Then the fairy said she was o.k, when Kasei knew she was lying. "It most certainly is not nothing! You are injured, and, believe it or not, it could be fatal!" Kasei said, with genuine concern.
OOC: A bit of Kasei's backstory in there...and thins is the new kasei, guys, try to know what he's capable of...

(((OOC: Only her sleave is soaked in blood, kasei. And, yes, I will give you a little leeway to let your character do somethings, just don't abuse the privilege. Maybe you could think I bit more about what you write before you post it?)))
"YES!! I DO believe it, but when I say that I am fine, respect that and get the hel- just move back a bit, please." her mood was raging up from the pain, her sleave now drenched and a hylian and a sheikah were crowding around her. As she was on her last nerve, a gentle and soothing feeling spread throughout her arm, down to the tips of her phalanges. She sighed in pure joy as the burden of pain lifted off her and she slumped back into the grass. She lifted up her sleeve carefully and inspected the wound. Her hand was partly burnt off and dry blood clung to her skin, but the flow of blood had been stalled and she looked up at kasei with a frown, her gaze trailed over to Pyre and she frowned deeper. The glint of a pendent was reflected in the rising sun and she met his eyes. With an unspoken thankfulness she got up and smiled, wanting to get on her way and find some better attention before the pain came back.
"Kasei. Pabru." she looked at each one with a sincere look. "I have to part from you now, I am traveling to the west, to North Castle. I think that I may find a healer there that can have a closer look at this." she gestured to her hand, "And maybe I will find out more about the fire elemental creature that we just defeated."
Looking one last time at the mark she imprinted it into her mind and pondered what SG ment. Initials of some sort? Or maybe a spell? She pulled herself back into reality and smiled, "I must bid you good bye now. Pabru. I am so glad that we found each other, else I would probably try to defeat the fire and be dead by now.... Kasei. You too have helped so much, and your unfailing trust meant everything to me." and with her speech done she turned on her heal and started running to gain momentum, then boosting herself into the air.

~Pyre looked up after the fairy, shaking his head. Crazy little girl, just running off like that... He had heard her destination, and thought it a sound one, but didn't think he would go after. Melody had obviously wanted to be alone, but the hylian was still glad that his healing spell had helped somewhat. He gave thanks to the goddesses, and then looked over at Kasei, giving him a short nod, before jumping up into the treetops. Between shaky aquaitances, that was enough, he expected nothing back from the mercenary.
While he left the grove behind physically, he could not shake it out of his thoughts. Only after the fairy had been healed, he had noticed the scortched letters. The omnious burnt lines still sent a chill up his spine. If they contained such power as to taint a fairy's very blood, a cleric's at that, then they were powerful indeed. But it also gave another hint. Though Pyralin didn't know what SG stood for, he was sure that when he found out he would find the origin of the fire elemental. As a ranger, it would be his job to try to face it down, but he never thought for a moment that he wouldn't do it alone. He didn't want to drag his newfound friend into something over her head, though it seemed with the shadowy wound, "SG" had already done so. The ranger shook off these grim thoughts and doubled his speed. He knew just the person that might know something about this.~
