"I didn't mean to--" Burlo started, but it was obvious that the object of the woman's attention was not himself, and he ceased trying to speak to her. It pains me to see them torn apart like this...The lawyer thought wistfully, beginning to think about how he treated his child. Was he unfair to him like this? It wasn't likely that Burlo could do anything about Rebecca now--she wasn't his daughter, after all. However...perhaps..."Ma'am, you look like quite the busy lady." He began, using as flattering a tone as he could without seeming to be attracted to her. "I don't suppose you would have other things to do. I could keep an eye on your girl for a while..."

Molly stopped midstep, then swiveled sharply to face Burlo. The man seemed well off, most likely some respectable merchant, probably knew the Winters well... and she did have that little emergency to take care of...

But then there was the matter of Kobas, and if she just left Rebecca alone with an older man, the whole situation being rather questionable as well...

But then there was the Ms. Lynchwood, and she had all those kids to take care of... Molly had known Ms. Lynchwood since they were children Rebecca's and Kobas's age, and the two had developed some sort of strange friendship. Molly played part-time governess for the Lynchwood children as well, and for free, which was odd for such a stingy old woman like her to do.

"Fine-" Molly said, but was cut short by her own shrieking as Rebecca had decided to bite her. "I will be back soon, understand?" Molly said affirmatively before heading towards Castle Town's slums.

OoC: Seth's mother, I mean...

OOC: Who, Ms. Lynchwood?

IC: Burlo's eyes followed Molly as she trudged away, waiting for her to leave sight before turning back to the children. He looked back and forth between them, unsure of what to do now that he had just gotten them off the hook. "So then," He said, clearing his throat, "A mercenary, eh? Did anybody inspire that, or was it just an idea you picked up yourself?" He aimed this at Rebecca, scratching the back of his head.

OoC: Yes.

IC: "It was my idea," Rebecca replied, smoothing her skirt nervously as she always did when discussing her hopes and dreams with someone other than Kobas. "They seem so free. They travel everywhere and get to see the world... I would love to that more than anything."

"I wonder where she keeps running off to?" Kobas mumbled, contemplating whether to follow the maid and find out. "So, are you married or something?" The rogue snapped out of his ramblings. "Didn't you say you had a son or something?"
