As the stars above twinkled with their astral beauty, young Worru the hybrid laid on the ground with his back propped up onto a log, itself propped up on its side. Before him, there was a tiny fire, crackling in its tiny spot inbetween the rocks around it. It wasn't much for warmth, as the summer nights were already warming the small body up, apparently there only for the light it gave off.
But the boy didn't seem to realize it was there.
For the first time in ages, it seemed that the young boy was off in his mind, thinking about something that obviously made him incredibly happy. Now, if he was any bit knowledgeable about his friend's and aquaintince's ideas about what goes on his his growing brain, he'd stop then, just so they couldn't get the wrong idea.
But the boy didn't seem to care about what they thought.
Worru was smiling, warmly and friendly, in a way that could make one mistake him for a mature young man. The small body that was his was dressed as usual, light blue pants with a white shirt made of rough, thick material, and a belt no one could see, along with the pair of shoes he managed to 'borrow' from his time at the war. His sword, the bronze blade of Swiftspirit, along with his two daggers, were set to one side of the log, along with his wallet, which held quite the amount for such a youth. The scythe he had forged with the help of Kasei was off in some kind of pocket dimension, only there when the boy used the power of Twilight, his 'element', as the old man had called it.
But the boy didn't seem to be remembering any of that.
If one were close enough, they could see his lips moving, as if he was talking, and if they were closer, they could hear the soft murmurs of a song the boy was singing, the reason why lost in his tangent of the mind. It was well-known he wasn't a smart boy, not even having the base amount of common sense, an example in the way he talked to the giant of a man, Jormund Gobi.
But the boy didn't seem to have a scratch.
As to why he didn't seem to be doing or having any of these, it was unknown to everyone. Only that smile and song could explain why he was so happy.

It was so far away from a town, so far from any hotel, and yet Kasei found himself coming out to the middle of nowhere one summer night. Why? Of course, one reason only; to see what his darling grandson was up to. Kasei, in the time of war, has prevented himself from using rifts, and now, as any other day, he goes south on one of Hyrule Castle's horses, until he spots a small fire that signifies his lineage.
The Rebel Flame goes a bit further before dismounting, and walks the rest of the way to his grandchild. "What's a boy like you doing way out here?"

As if he was ignoring his grandfather, the boy Worru merely stayed where he was, not turning to look at the man, or even making a sound. However, in a moment, the hybrid boy blinked, rubbed his eyes, and straightened up, giving off a loud yawn. "Oh, uh, hello there, Kasei. Many happy returns of the day.", the boy absentmindedly said.
Standing up to stretch and yawn some more, he soon sat back down where he was before the log, smiling warmly into the fire as if that simple gesture was the only thing keeping it alive. "Kasei...Tell me what tomorrow is, and no matter what you say, you will give me the wrong answer. So, go on, guess. See if you can stump me.", the boy finally said after he looked back up at the taller man.

Kasei looked down at the smart-alek kid. "A guessing game, is it? Okay then . . . . tomorrow is . . . the aniversary of the first time you masturbated?" The Rebel Flame said with an innocent look on his face. One that said 'yeah, I got it right, didn't I?'

Worru chuckled at the older man, still smiling after he was done. "No, no way, Kasei. The first anniversary of that was some time when I was nine.", the boy explained, before a small, gong-like noise began to sound out from somewhere near. The boy reached behind the log for his wallet, which he opened to get out a device that looked like a compass, which was making the noise with every second. It was a Termanian watch his mom had gotten for him some time a week ago, when she and Lydia had left for a small trip to who-knows-where.
As the gong-like noise faded into the night, the boy smiled as warmly as possible at it, before putting it away, then laying back down on the ground, just as before. Amythest eyes were turned to the sky above, as the stars continued to twinkle, and the boy then said just what tomorrow, now today, was.
"It's my birthday. The happiest day of the year."

Kasei smiled at the revalation, and sat down next to Worru. The Rebel Flame remembered his own birthdays. They were usually hunting trips. He kinda guessed that taking Worru out to hunt some lizalfos wouldn't be a good idea.
"Well then," The man said, "Happy birthday, Worru." He congradulated, placing a small stone on Worru's lap.

The boy smiled back, picking up the stone in one hand, then proceeding to throw it up in the air, and then catching it. "Thanks, Kasei.", Worru said, "This just a normal stone, or anything like that stone you gave me before?" It was obvious the boy was curious about it for the moment, before he decided to momentarily change the subject. "Say, how's Aria doing?"

"Neither, take a look." Kasei said, motioning to the little rock. It glowed a light red while it was in the light of the fire, but as it moved, the substance that made it up was clear; it was a large, glowing hunk of diamond. "It's a soul-stone. People of my clan use it all the time. We can store energy inside of it, and it will glow a different color depending on the element you're power is. Red for fire, blue for water, and so on. They are usefull for storing energy before a big fight, for both healing any wounds and giving yourself a little boost." The man narrated.

The boy nodded, taking his wallet and stuffing the stone inside of it for safekeeping. When he turned back to Kasei, the hybrid noticed then that the man still hadn't answered his question about Aria. Well...not like she'd get me something...or even care, in the first place..., Worru thought, but no sadness came up on his face, still that warm smile.
Then it occured to him a question he could ask the Sheikah Elemental, one that had been bothering him for sometime. "Say...uhm, Kasei...", he hesitantly began, pausing when he needed to think on how to phrase it, "What, exactly, is...is love?"

~"What is love? Baby don't Hurt me, don't hurt me, no more."~
Kasei looked over at Worru, a dim smile on the Rebel Flame's face. Now it was his turn to think about how to break the ice to Worru. After a long pause, Kasei decided to just tell the truth. He looked at Worru.
"I . . . wouldn't know what love is, Worru. It's been a hundred years since i've felt anything close to it, so it's an emotion I can't remember. Go ask Aria, she'd know." The shiekah confessed.

Worru sighed, and closed his eyes for a moment as his head laid on the log behind him. "Yeah, like she'd tell me anything. I'm pretty sure she hates me after getting us locked up in that dark army jail cell.", the boy grumbled, moving his arms up to behind his head, trying to make himself a bit more comfortable. "It's...not like I have anyone to love now...just, I'm wondering how it feels...if I ever get the chance to actually love someone.", he added, nothing more than a murmur.

Kasei smiled at Worru. "Looks like you're starting to grow up." He said to his grandson. "For now, I guess i'll just give you a generic reply. You'll understand the feeling when you get older, understood?" He mused, letting Worru think it over.

Worru stretched, yawning once more as he thought over what the older man had said, his musings being analyzed in the boy's mind for the moment. "Kasei...that was one of the dumbest things I've heard in my life. And I've heard myself a lot of the time.", the boy replied, bringing his knees up to his chest as the fire continued to crackle.
