Hyrule Adventures 2

Seth was choked momentarily and yanked backward as Sovelis caught him. He fell backwards with a thud and freaked out even more as the annoyed Tempest, seemingly paler in the dark came towards him like a ghost. He tried to scramble away but couldn't, Sovelis holding his scarf in an iron grip. He finally seemed to come to his senses and stopped, his breathing still irregular and choked. The thief looked from the white scarf to Sovelis, a sign of understanding spreading across his face. "Well I feel... stupid..." He muttered, grimacing.

Arrika noticed that Seth wasn't running with her anymore, and trembling slunk back through the darkness to find him. Someone was strangling Seth with his own scarf, and on impulse she lunged forward to strike them.

Seth's eyes widened and his head swiveled towards the Sheikah a second later, then yanked Sovelis down to the floor. Arrika sailed over them, crashing hard into one of the walls but she had managed to soften the collision with her arm.

"Ach... what the hell?! Oh... oops... sorry, Sovelis," she said, her voice shaking.

"What was the point of that?" Seth said. "If he really was the ghost then you'd have gone right through him!"

"Shut up, Seth! How would you know for sure? It's possible I might have hurt him a little! Have you ever tried hitting a ghost?"

Their voices escalated as their bickering progressed, ringing and echoing through the house.

"Stop fighting you two!" Sovelis yelled, grabbing both of them and yanking them under his arms, picking them both up by their waists. "Arrika, Seth...We just got back, and your already bickering like before. Didn't this trip teach either of you anything at all?" he asked, looking down at them. "Now, either get along, or neither of you get dinner tonight at all, and I'll lock you in your rooms." Sovelis threatened as he set them back on their feet. "Could you go grab me a set of my robes from my closet though, Arrika? Morendo needs some cloths..."

Sovelis chuckled at what he said and walked back into the room that he had left the Twili in.

Arrika looked at Seth with wide eyes. "Wanna come with me?"

"Why, still scared?"

"What do you think, dirtbag?"

"Fine," Seth said, not wanting to be left alone either.

Arrika darted into the room and back with the set of robes in less than 10 seconds, Seth glancing around quickly. 'Cause ya know, those darned ghosts are plenty sneaky. Their walk to the Tempest's lab quickly turned into a sprint, the hellcat following them again although it soon passed them. It scratched at the door, meowing for Sovelis to let it in.

Sovelis was looking for Morendo and Ralin, then heard a scratching on the door. "If that cat messes up my doors, I'm gonna kill it!" he yelled as he made his way towards the door. "They couldn't have gone all that way in that little time...Those kids are quick." Sovelis mumbled as he opened the Library door. "I swear, I'm not cleaning up after that damn cat. Your gonna do that if you guys want to keep it." he said, looking at them as they ran at him.

Right before his students crashed into him, Sovelis sighed. "Shit...." escaped his mouth as he was hit by two agile thieves.

Seth took the most damage, slamming into Sovelis's metal arm and ricocheting into the wall. The cat meowed and landed lightly on Sovelis' head, perching there like a bird. Arrika sailed over Seth again and fell on top of Sovelis, banging her head on his arm as well.

Ralin and Morendo stared. All of a sudden Ralin started to giggle madly, although Morendo just raised an eyebrow and made a face.

Seth recovered and snatched the cat protectively into his arms, glaring at Sovelis as if daring him to grab it back from him.

"Ow...I should have seen that one coming a mile away..." Sovelis mumbled from under Arrika. "As much As I enjoy having you on me, this isn't the right place for this kind of show, Arrika." he said, winking at the girl before getting up and helping her to stand. "Did you grab those robes, or are you two to afraid of the dark to wander alone?"

"I got it," Arrika said, yanking on them from under Seth. "And I'm not afraid of the dark, it's more of- er-" The Sheikah glanced back at the empty hallway behind her and inched behind the door, slamming it shut. "Heh, sorry..."

The cat jumped out of Seth's arms and rubbed its head against Sovelis's leg, trying to get him to pet it.

"See, he likes you! So don't be mean to him," Seth said angrily.

"I guess someone got attached really fast," Arrika commented, but had always known Seth's liking for cats. He tried to bring a kitten to Rhyss's house once, and that was when he had learned of the mage's dislike for them.

"I got it," Arrika said, yanking on them from under Seth. "And I'm not afraid of the dark, it's more of- er-" The Sheikah glanced back at the empty hallway behind her and inched behind the door, slamming it shut. "Heh, sorry..."

The cat jumped out of Seth's arms and rubbed its head against Sovelis's leg, trying to get him to pet it.

"See, he likes you! So don't be mean to him," Seth said angrily.

"I guess someone got attached really fast," Arrika commented, but had always known Seth's liking for cats. He tried to bring a kitten to Rhyss's house once, and that was when he had learned of the mage's dislike for them. And how fast Rhyss could summon undead wolves.

Sovelis picked up the black cat. "In many cultures, a black cat is the symbol of bad luck. I like this one, because all my clothes are black, and this little fur-balls hair won't show up on my clothes." Sovelis said as he scratched the little Twili cat under its chin. "But like I said, your responsible for the cat, Seth. If I find a cat turd somewhere, I'll make you clean it up bare handed." the Tempest threatened, handing the cat to Seth, and looking at Morendo, who was wrapped in his cloak. "Will you go see if these will fit you, your Highness?"

Seth started cuddling the cat again, Arrika snorting with amusement.

Morendo opened the door and closed it behind her again, changed in the hallway and came back, throwing Sovelis's cloak at him. Morendo was tall, but not as tall as Sovelis, and folded up the baggy robe bottoms with an annoyed expression on her face.

"Well sooorry the rest of us have to deal with clothes that weren't personally tailored for us," Ralin said, snapping the book she had been reading shut. Not like she could read it anyway, but the pretty black circles with shapes and diagrams had been interesting.

"Its just a quick fix. I'll fix them in the morning if you want me too. Now. Who's hungry?" Sovelis said, throwing his cloak on his work desk and heading out into the hallway. "I can fix something pretty quick if you all are hungry." he said, turning around and walking backwards, and keeping an eye on the four newer residents of his home. "I can fry up some fish if thats what Seth's in the mood for...."

Sovelis grinned at Arrika, Seth, Morendo, and Ralin. "I'm actually glad that we brought you two here to Hyrule. Its to quiet when Seth or Arrika wander off or something."

The green-haired thief grinned, forgiving Sovelis's death threats at once. The cat meowed happily as if it understood.

"Eat?" Ralin asked. "I always thought mortal food was poisonous to us..."

"I'm not hungry," Morendo said.

"What the hell are you starving yourself for? Haven't you already realized that you can't get any slimmer, and even if you did you're too tall and scare off most men?" Ralin said.

"I'm not starving myself, stupid! I dont' like food anyway."

"How can you not like food?!" Seth asked, surprised. "Not only does it keep you alive, it tastes good!" He was practically drooling and could almost smell the fish frying in the pan.

"I actually agree with him on that one," Arrika said.

"I don't need two anorexic Twili laying around the house. You two are going to eat, and your gonna like it." Sovelis said, shaking his finger at them, and smiling like it was a joke. "So...Seth. What kind of fish should I fry?" the youthful looking immortal said, looking down at the green-haired boy. "And what else should I fix...a salad, or maybe some fried squash and some fresh bread?"

Sovelis turned around and walked through the cozy-little living room and headed towards the kitchen, trying to figure out what he should fix for the five of them.

"What's a fish?" Ralin whispered to Morendo, who shrugged.

"Salmon!" Seth said excitedly. "Or squid and Hylian Loach. Haven't had that for a while. Or... tilapia! That's the best, especially if you put tons of oil on it and mix with..." He rambled. "Ya know, I don't even know the names of the fish. I just know what they look like."

"You can fry squash?" Arrika asked.

"Wait! Toasted bread with tons of butter and raspberry and strawberry jam and-" Seth interrupted.

Sovelis lead Seth into the Kitchen and opened one of the cold cabinets. "Well, take a look and tell me what you want me to fix." he said, then turned to Arrika. "Yes. You can fry squash. And zucchini, and tomatoes, and okra, and just about anything else you can cook. Fried food is my specialty." He said, pulling the Sheikah a little closer to him while Seth rummaged in the cold cabinet.

"And you can find out my other specialty later." he whispered in her ear.
