Sovelis followed behind Arrika quietly, listening to the two thieves arguing. Why couldn't they just get along like normal kids? "And Arrika has a point. Why should it concern you Seth? If she's happy with someone, than you should be glad as well." He retorted, locking his gaze on the young Hylian. "Or perhaps your just jealous? I guess we need to get you a girlfriend of your own, don't we Arrika?"

Sovelis put his hands on her shoulders to let her know that he was there for her, and to show Seth that he wasn't backing down from the fight.

"I am not jealous! For once I'm thinking about the crud that always happens to you!" Seth said angrily.

"Which is still none of your business!" Arrika replied. "Are you putting Sovelis in the same category as Ronin? I thought you knew better!"

Seth bit his lip. Unseen to most people but visible to his psychic eyes, he was astounded that he hadn't noticed the electricity growing between the Sheikah and the Tempest. Then again, he'd been really distracted lately.

"I'm not going to treat Arrika like she's some lowlife. I respect her, and I deeply care for both of you...I thought that if I brought you both into my home, that I could find some way to make a difference." Sovelis said, looking down at the floor. "I can't change your mind Seth, because everyone you loved is either gone, or they don't care any more. But you have a new family. Can't you see that?" he asked, trying to reason with the green haired thief.

"If I'm wrong, than tell me, and I'll let you two keep fighting...I just wanted to have someplace with a family...even if they aren't the same as the ones I knew before... We're all the same really...No true place to call home, and no family that cares for us." Sovelis said, pulling his hands form Arrika's shoulders and walking back down the hallway, not looking back at the two of them as he walked back into his room and quietly closed the door...

Seth did not reply, walking towards the front door and out into the chilly winds although the sun shined and there weren't any clouds in the sky. The leaves whipped around him, tangling in his hair and scarf. Arrika sighed and followed him, plucking the leaves and twigs out. "Do you think every guy I like happens to be the same kind of jerk?"

"I guess Sovelis is- kind of okay..." Seth muttered. "Womanizer for sure though. You make the perfect couple... two alcoholics, as your friend Sakiko thinks."

"Why do you hate everyone? If you keep everything bottled up inside, you only make it worse. How many times do me and Kobas have to tell you that?"

"I hate everyone because everyone hates me. It's as simple as that."

"But we don't hate you!"

"Like I always say... if you don't now, you will soon..."

Sovelis sat on the edge of the bed, a bottle clutched tightly in his real hand. His eyes had become blood-shot already as he had downed half the bottle of strong liquor already. "So...I'm a failure. I can't even help anyone else...so why should I even try anymore?" He asked himself loudly, then took a swig from the bottle. He chuckled at himself, then downed the last of the liquid inside the bottle. "Am I just a useless idiot, doomed to live out eternity lonely and drunken?"

Sovelis looked at the bottle in his hand, and saw his reflection in the glass. The way he was looking, he could see his reflection laughing up at him, as if mocking its owner. He glared at the little refection, as if he could hear the laughter in his ears. "SHUT UP! I DON'T WANT TO HEAR IT!! STOP LAUGHING!!!!" He roared loudly, and threw the bottle across the room. It smashed into the mirror on the dresser, smashing both into a million shards of glass with a loud crashing noise.

Arrika's head snapped back, the sound of crashing glass making her jump.

"You'd better go... he might hurt himself..." Seth said quietly as Arrika ran back to Sovelis's room, throwing the door open and apalled at the million shards of glass littering the floor.

"Sovelis! Are you trying to make me cry?!" Arrika demanded, her voice shaking. "Don't scare me like that, you idiot, and why the hell are you drunk again?! Even Kobas had his limits, stupid! What did you do, blow up the mirror!?" The Sheikah choked out, tears welling in her eyes.

"The reflection in the bottle...it was laughing at me. I killed it...Aren't you happy? Now their is only one of me!" Sovelis said, a half smile on his face as he tried to stand up, and fell on the floor at Arrika's feet. "Can you help me up...I c-can't stand strait up...or word right in place the put...eh?" he said as he rolled over and looked up at Her. "Don't cry...your too p-pretty to cry...y'know that..right...your pretty...and pretty girls shouldn't cry...right?"

Sovelis smiled as he clambered to his hands and knees, but stayed down so he wouldn't fall again.

The Sheikah took an uncertain step back as the Tempest fell in front of her, but tried to drag him up. "You've got glass on you now. Are you happy?" There were cuts on his hand where the glass had imbedded itself in his skin, his blood getting on her as well but she didn't care. "I don't mind you drunk, but if you hurt yourself at the same time- You- I love you, you idiot. You know that? So stop being a jerk like the rest of them!"

Sovelis stood up, and looked into Arrika's eyes with his own blood-shot, drunken gaze. "I...I'm sorry..." he whispered, and looked back at the floor. He closed his eyes and fell to his knees again. "I'm so s-sorry Arrika...so sorry..." he kept saying, over and over, pounding his fists into the glass every time he said it. His bloody right hand clenched tightly and he looked up at her, his own eyes tear filled and his face red with anger and embarrassment. "I...I don't deserve to have anyone love me...I'm just a monster, waiting to be evoked for murder yet again....I...can't ever deserve love..."

"If you keep saying that, you're never going to get any!" Arrika said, kicking him in the side and dragging him away from the glass so she could pick out the shards that were embedded in his hand. Seth appeared a moment later with a broom, silently sweeping away the mess.

"Now this is different. Normally he'd be the one slapping you around. You have my blessings this time," the younger thief said sarcastically.

As the shards of glass were being removed form his hand, Sovelis winced, and didn't look up at Arrika at all or say anything. He sat there and kept his mind as blank as he could, so Seth couldn't see anything. Sovelis felt embarrassed at being caught in his drunken little fit. I'm such an idiot.... Why the hell did I even do that? He asked himself as the glass was being pulled from his bloodied flesh.

"Arrika...I...I'm sorry...It won't happen again. I promise..." he mumbled, still staring at the floor.

Arrika bit her lip before muttering, "That's what they all say."

"It's going to snow soon... sometime this week..." Seth said, gazing outside. He finished clearing away all the glass. "Ralin's burning her eyes- I mean eye- out right now. Do you want me to stop her?"

"Get lost, Seth," Arrika said, losing her temper just as Seth had been baiting her to.

"Hey, fine with me, just warn me beforehand so I don't walk in on you two making out on the couch or something."

Sovelis let his head drop even lower, to show what had happened in his mind. Does that mean I'm just like the rest of the scum on this world...just, like the rest... The thought flashed through his mind and was stuck there, nagging at his conscious like a splinter stuck in his brain. He pulled his hand free and stood up on shaky legs, even though their where little shards of glass still lodged in his skin and muscle. "I mean it, Arrika. I'm sorry, more than sorry. I...I can't say sorry enough to make you forgive me for this..." he said, trying his best not to look at her.

He walked over to the dresser where the shattered remains of glass sat on the wooden top. He looked at them and saw many small reflections in each piece. All of them laughing at him, pointing at him like he was a joke.

"It's okay... I... I know you're really sorry..." Arrika said, sitting on the floor with her knees drawn up to her chest. Seth left with an odd expression on his face, mostly likely shaking his head and thinking that Arrika was forcing herself to feel it was her fault and not Sovelis's.

Seth collapsed against a wall after getting away from the Tempest's room, having let down his guard for a split second and all of Sovelis's emotions pouring out in a raging torrent all at once. That broken mirror... it was eerie, seeing Sovelis's drunken illusions through his own eyes.

Sovelis stumbled over to Arrika, and crouched down next to her. "Don't sweat it...if I have to, I'll even give up drinking anything...just to make myself a better person." he stated, putting his hands on Arrika's shoulder. "I want to be a better person...but I have been this way for so long Arrika....I don't know if I can change alone, or even if I can change at all...but I want to try..."

Sovelis leaned over and wrapped his arms around the Sheikah girl, and hugged her as tightly as he possibly could without hurting her. "I need your help to do it...please..."
