OOC - Sorry for leaving you Sovelis, we'll come back for you later. Not too far from now, there will be an opportunity for you to come back to life. I am glad that you are still following the event, and I will make sure that you will be back in action.
IC - When Leth first steps onto the moss, nothing seems to happen at all. He is just standing on the turquoise moss as if it is solid ground. Everyone stands still to see if anything will happen, not even taking a breath. There is utter silence as all eyes watch Leth. After about a minute, Brin lets out a huge sigh of relief. The moss seems harmless...

Kasei held a long breath as Leth experimented with the moss. After deciding it was safe, the rebel flame got bold and stepped forward, lighting his lantern to further inspect the area. He took some more steps into the moss, and decided it was safe enough. Putting his lantern away, he signaled to the others that he was fine.

OOC: Brin, if there is some sort of moronic trap here, I shall cut you through the computer, then put salt in the wound.
You had your warning.

OOC: I had completely forgotten you had an event, Brin! Infinitely sorry; I shall help you to finish it. I'll also write in present-tense, as that seems to be the accepted tense for this topic. It'll give me a chance to get back into that feel; I may readopt the present tense soon
IC:
From nowhere, a cheery and overconfident voice tolls out over the room and reverberates in the shallow, mossy cavern. It's the grand voice of a seasoned dungeon master; the sweet, soft acoustics of a veteran adventurer; the intimidating and yet revered tones of a noble quester's voice. It becomes more solid and steady, becoming less of an echo as the man steps into sight. His eyes remain lost in the shadows, but everything else (save for his hair) is perfectly visible. The rugged, willing and ready form of a courageous explorer.
“You fellows seem to need some help!”
Oh, wait. It's just Blank Fireside, that bumbling oaf who is best known around Hyrule for his deeds of selfishness and his half-drunken antics. If Brin and co. were hoping for a seasoned adventurer to aid them, they are in for a sad letdown.
Blank strides into the room, a twinkle in his lustful eyes as he steps beside the others. His grin dissipates and is replaced by confusion.
Who are these people? he thinks as he looks about the room. The only man he is familiar with is Kasei, and even still he has all but forgotten any exploits shared between the Sheikah and Hylian. Perhaps Kasei does not remember anything of Blank as well. The two have seen very little of each other over Blank's time in Hyrule. The other two, Leth and Brin... Never in his life has he seen them. Brin seems older due to his white, spiky hair, but his youthfulness instantly betrays the notion. Blank raises an eyebrow as he realizes that the dungeon leader is several years his junior. But when has age ever mattered in Hyrule?
Here had been expecting to find the usual crowd, which normally consists of Alpha, Victor, and sometimes Dogura. Seeing only Brin, Leth and Kasei, he shrugs and ponders staying. These are
strangers after all. But when has peer recognition ever mattered in Hyrule?
“Er, huh,” he mumbles embarrassingly as he's sorely accustomed to lately. “Should I even be here? I don't even
know these people...”
Conflicted as he is about his right to aid the other dungeon-trekking adventurers, Blank decides to stay put and help out as best he can. He's already here; turning tail and finding his way out of the underground labyrinth would more likely take
more effort than seeing it through.
“So, we have some moss control issues, do we?” he blurts, pointing at the overgrown turquoise layer of vegetation in the pit below. Not letting Leth and Kasei assume full lead, Blank quickly slips down the ladder and tiptoes cautiously across the moss to the other side.

OOC - You don't want any moronic traps, you say, Kasei? Next time, tell me in advance. I've had this part planned out for a while... sort of. And Blank, welcome to the Cursed Masks. It's nice to have another adventurer, and it will also be good to get to know you - I don't believe I have RPed alongside you as of yet.
IC - Brin does not get the chance to give the newcomer a proper hello, for as Blank dashes across to the other side of the moss pit and reaches a certain distance, his feet begin to sink into the layers of moss with each step, making a squelching sound each time he pulls them out, as if he is trudging through deep mud in heavy boots. With each squelchhhh! his feet sink a little deeper into the moss, until his walking slows down considerably. Kasei and Leth, however, are still on top of the moss as if it is solid stone.
"How curious..." mutters Brin, jumping onto the moss and landing expertly on his feet. He dashes across the moss towards Blank, and the same think happens, with each step his feet plunge further into the mossy surface. He soon needs to wrench his feet out with all his might.
Brin stops for a breath. In the split second that he stops moving, he sinks up to his knees into the moss. "ARGHHH!" he yells, wrenching himself out. "Maybe we should turn back!" As if on cue, both of the ladders are sucked down through the moss and out of sight.
Next, a soft, pleasant tingling sound meets the ears of the adventurers, like a waterfall of thousands if bells and chimes. The sound grows louder, and a blue, misty aura fills the moss pit, and the temperature instantly drops by about twenty degrees.
It seems as if the tinkling sound is coming from the blue mist...

Kasei's scimitar was already positioned for a fight the instant the sound reached his ears. The rebel flame prepared for an attack, and reflexivly prepared to jump out of the way of an attack. [DODGE CHECK] As soon as he was ready, Kasei called out to the others. "I think blank and Brin both just did sopmething incredibly stupid, and were all about to die because of it."
OOC: Congradulations, Brin! You are currently being cursed in the four languages I have ever spoken; German, english, spanish and japanese. As soon as I am done, your stabbity death shall arive in the form of black mage.

Leth jumps back out of the moss as he watches brin start sinking and the fog start rising. "I knew there was something fishy about that moss..." he mutters. "Um... so, now what?" He asks as the room gets foggier and foggier.

by Blank
Blank lets out a horrified yelp as his feet, which had previously been above the moss, begin to sink to the subterranean level below the fine green layer. He feels the mud beneath the moss cling to his boots and gags at the sickening squelch that mud tends to make when stepped on. Wait, is it even mud? he asks himself internally. Looking down, he tries to get a sense of what he's sinking into. Just moss, as far as his eyes can discern in this lighting. Following Brin's lead, he pulls his submerged feet from the grasping vegetation and tries to make hi way to the ladder...
Only to find, of course, that it's gone. With a groan, he wonders why he ever bothered to show up, much less stay at all. And as the fog settles in he forgets that thought, finding better reason to solve the current issue of exactly what is about to happen. A battle seems quite likely, but there's a second option spinning around in Blank's thoughts - sudden, and certain for that matter, doom. The tinkling sound is one that pierces the ears so ethereally that it could either be associated with a great, holy being... or a nightmarish devil. The nomad hopes the former, but knows the latter is more likely.
Stopping for a moment in the mud - and finding himself submerged to his midriff in a matter of seconds, the Hylian glares up at Kasei and grumbles a retort in his direction. “Oh please, Kasei. I doubt there was any way to avoid this... unless one of you can fly, hmm?” His voice is laden with sarcasm, but has a friendly tone to it to deny all traces of snarkiness. His demeanor seems calm as he speaks, until he realizes that the sinking isn't going to stop. Blank grabs the wall and heaves himself to foot level and looks around the shallow abyss for signs of whatever is causing the eerie, chiming noise.
[Awareness Check]
“Don't suppose you've got a rope on you...” he calls up nonchalantly to Leth as his eyes scan the blue misted landscape, already having lost sight of him. Even so, he knows the answer is a definite no; who carries rope with them in this age, anyway? It sure would be a nice thing to add to his arsenal when he gets out of this hole...

OOC - I greatly apologize for the delay in my reply. I currently have many real-life commitments and I have had no time for HA2!
IC -
[ Blank's Awareness Check succeeds ] Blank sees nothing that could be producing the chiming sound. It seems to come from everywhere at once. The only explanation is that the mist indeed is making the sound...
Kasei is needlessly poised to dodge an attack. Nothing moves at all, except for Brin and Blank trying to extricate themselves from the moss-like substance. Teeth chattering, Brin shivers in the cold as he trudges back towards his companions, who are not sinking at all. As he nears them, the tinkling sounds become louder and faster, until the party's ears are ringing, and the mist clouds the party's vision nearly totally.
Suddenly, the entire mossy pit gives a huge lurch, nearly tipping everyone off their balance, then makes huge, ugly sucking sounds, and everyone begins to sink slowly into the moss (or is it moss?), as if something is sucking them in from the other end of a very large straw. The old bones that originally littered the surface are immediately pulled through the moss and vanish from sight, leaving no sign of every laying on the moss.
"We are in a very difficult situation indeed, my friends," gasps Brin, as he struggles to wrench his feet from the sucking moss. "But I am sure we can find... urghhhh... a way... uggh! to get out of this! Argh!"
OOC - Every time a player makes 1 post, they will sink further into the moss. After 5 posts, they will be sucked in completely. There should be a way to escape this situation, but you will have to be quick, or a terrible fate awaits! Looking back through the event might help you find clues to solve this puzzle.

OOC
Hey, everyone, I thought I'd make a quick little update here. Please don't be afraid to post in this sticky situation. You each have 5 posts, so just try out certain things and maybe you will find the solution.
Secondly, I just wanted to let you know that there will possibly be a Dungeon Item for each dungeon in the event that will count as an
actual item and can be used outside the event as well.
Next, I am now going to post the map for the current floor in areas in which we have the Dungeon Map. Here's an example:
Current Floor:
B1F
Brown squares are chests, arrows indicate that a staircase goes up or down one floor.
I hope you continue to enjoy the event!

by Aureliano
Aureliano had heard of Brin's recruits heading this way and decided to come. He needed some money, and this seemed like the perfect chance to earn some. He entered a strange tunnel that made him feel all liquidy inside, and ended up in a dungeon. On his way through the dungeon, Aureliano saw some pretty nasty sights, such as Redead, Keese, and Sovelis' body. To bad he had no experience with magic

. He headed through mossy rooms, one after the next, and stupidly fell into a pit. "AHHHHHH!" Aureliano screamed, only to realize the pit was only two meters deep and everyone was down there. The pit was also filled with a blue aura and was cold. "Hey, my name is Aureliano." he said with a charming smile trying to make up for his fall, and tried to walk toward Brin, only to realize his foot had sunk in the moss. "Oh man! So you guys weren't hanging out here? And what in Nayru's name is that annoying noise?! It seems to come from that blue aura!" Aureliano started to think of all the things he could do to get out of this moss and get away from the "annoying noise".
OoC: There, I got myself stuck. How's that for low maintence?

OOC - Good to see a new face, Aureliano! You made a pretty good entrance!
IC - "Hello-" Brin begins, but as he speaks, he sinks another foot deeper into the moss. Regaining himself, he continues, "Nice of you to join us. I'm Brin." He reaches out to shake Aureliano's hand but nearly falls flat on his face, as the moss has a firm grip on his feet. With great difficulty, Brin heaves himself back up, sinking another couple of inches as he does so. "I guess we'll have time to introduce ourselves later. If you can think of anything to get us out of here, it would be appreciated."
Sinking even further into the moss, Brin yells, "Let's try this! FIRE!" But before the magic can leave him, the surrounding blue mist abruptly stops twinkling, turns a dazzling, blinding white, and zooms toward Brin, sticking to every surface of his body, and slowing him down (cuts his AGI in half), as if wearing a suit made of bricks.
"I guess magic's a no go, then," concludes Brin, his voice magnified as though through a megaphone, and it echoes as though he is in a large, empty room. This is likely the effect of the mist.
How can you escape, without magic?

OoC: *Bows* Why thank you Brin! The best for your topic

.
IC: Aureliano thought for a second. It was cold, and there is "moss" everywhere. Fire seems like the most reasonable thing, but Brin just tried to cast a fire spell and the aura stopped him. "Fire seems pretty reasonable right now......how about a bomb or something? How about anything with fire?" Aureliano said, and took out two deku sticks from his rucksack and started rubbing them together.
OoC: What about the stone with a fire symbol? I would have made Aureliano mention it, but he doesn't know about it yet.

"You won't have time to make fire using Deku Sticks, we'll have sunk long before then!" Brin replies, sinking a little further into the moss with a deafening squelch. Rummaging around in his bomb bag, Brin pulls out an explosive and stows the sack away again. Brin hurls the bomb towards an edge of the pit where no one is standing, to make sure the following blast doesn't hurt anyone. However, there was no need to do so, as the bomb is sucked under the surface the moment it touches the moss, and leaves no sign of ever landing there. Looks like that won't work either. Time is ticking away at an alarming pace. The end is near if the adventurers cannot solve their dilemma...

Leth squirms futily at getting out of the moss. He shouts at brin, "See if that wierd rock can do anything about this mess!" He finally stops squirming in an effort to not sink so fast.
OOC: I was thinking the same thing you were, Aureliano!
