Okay, for RPG fighting (with all your stats included), everyone is normally placed in a set order to fight in. That is to say, the order of fighting is assigned to you. Example: you and Victor are fighting a Moblin. I assign Victor as the first to attack, then you attack, then the Moblin gets his own attack. In mass battle scenes that really doesn't work too well, so often we just make it so that people can attack in any order (provided they leave time for others to attack after their strike is through), and whenever they strike, their enemy attacks them back. As for the stats and stuff, you can learn about it in the Rules Set.
Now, that's if you want to use stats, which is actually a relatively new concept. For a while we just used role-playing fights. If you want good examples of that, I'd suggest taking a look at Alpha's Master Search VI near Ruto Town, or Malciore of Noe's Noerian fight in the North Forest.
