OOC: Whoops. Thanks again, weienw. You guys will have to forgive me; I'm still exploring the world. Anyways, I went to the thicket, got some wood, and edited the above post for that. Please keep telling me when I mess up; constructive critism is always a good thing.

OOC: Not to worry. Well done! But yes, another norm here is only writing about actions and events that happen in the location that you're writing in, not that there's a rule against it or anything, I guess. But of course, you can always get around that sort of stuff ^^. Something like: "Arco's eyes glaze over as he lapses into a vivid memory of gathering Deku Wood... cutting, chopping, bundling, carrying...".
This is fiction. Flashbacks are your friend! *cackle*
But here's another tip: hidden "shops" may sometimes be found through the very picture of a location (i.e. by the compass at the top). Hope that helps...

OOC: Aha! That helped a ton! Thank you so very much, weienw! It's so awesome to have people like you who make us new guys feel welcome and help us figure this kind of stuff out.

OOC: You're welcome (I think that "click on pictures to find hidden things" thing should be explained somewhere, heh--oops I guess)! Oh, and let me... let me think *muses*
Aha! One (probably) final tip, though it is also not a rule at all. Very simple: people here (the ones who write character actions) tend to like to use present tense, since (this part is my own theory) it seems to lend more flexibility to other players.
Example: "Arco picks up a glass of milk" sort of... feels less definite than "Arco picked up a glass of milk." At least personally, I feel like the former is more free to allow the next person to post, for example, that "Billie cries out, 'Stop!' as Arco attempts to do so." Or something. Just what I figured. You probably noticed that by now, but just in case you haven't, take a look around. It does take some getting used to, though. *grin*

OOC: Yeah, I did notice it, and am trying to conform. Like you said, it's not that easy.

Malciore toke out a bundle of deku wood from inside his jerkin (it's too big to carry in his satchel. "Here. I hope it helps." Malciore handed it to the goron. "Sorry if it has a face-plant on it, it smacked me in the face when it broke off the tree."

Alpha smiles at the Goron as he takes the membership card. "Thank you very much, friend." He turns and strides away. A few seconds later, after he has gone around the corner, he distinctively hears someone shout "Drrrat!"

The Lovers move through the town square with bright smiles and laughter to fill the afternoon. They spy the Goron and his plight and approach.
We heard your sad tale, and we have just returned from the Deku Forest.
Here, and may troubles find you no more.
