Well, Vic's been bugging me to do this ever since he managed to seize control of TDC through use of a hostile takeover (and you people thought that Jack was the one posting that congratulatory post on the mainpage . . . bwah-hah-hah! :P), and I had some free time on my hands for the first time in about 2-3 weeks, so I figured I might as well go ahead and get this over with.

To make a long story incredibly short (something that I really, really like doing unless it's for creative writing stuff like . . . say . . . for RPGs . . .), my username is orange. You heard me: orange.

For those of you who do not grasp the meaning behind that detail, it means that I have been granted Administrator status here on HA2. Specifically I am now Head Administrator, in charge of all the RGs and the moderators of our fair website . . . with the possible exception of Victor, as he is the administrator for all of TDC and the only one with FTP access. Kinda gives him a bit of leverage, though a good revolt or two should put him back in his place if he ever decides to abuse his power ( ).

It's actually quite humorous to me to finally be announcing this, because I have actually been orange since . . . well . . . since January, I guess it was. Way back when Jack was still active and I was just finishing up my TIPs for TDC, I requested the job of Head Admin as . . . well . . . I'm pretty sure we've all figured out that MG and SL13 aren't gonna be coming back anytime soon. Draug was able to hold down the fort in their absence, but I'd been talking with him and it was starting to wear on his nerves, so I figured, heck, why not? I was already in good standing with Jack, I'd actually been serving as a moderator for at least a year, and, not to brag, but I am probably the RPer who's been on the for the longest amount of time.

So Jack promoted me to admin almost immediately, and then I asked for the FTP passwords and all that . . . . . . . and that was the week that he decided to up and vanish on us for a few months.

I chose to keep my adminship a secret to the public until I got that FTP code, and I switched my account to invisible so that no one would see the telltale coloring. I mean, I've talked with the RGs, MG, and SL, and I knew full well what would happen if I announced that I was an admin: a flood of PMs in my inbox asking me when South Hyrule would be opening. In case you all didn't know by now, without the FTP it was basically impossible for us to even do any work on SH, let alone open it up to the public, and I wasn't wanting to put up with the mess of replying to an insane amount of PMs saying as much.

Now, of course, I may not have the FTP, but Victor does, and he's been working on fixing a few of the problems that have been present in South Hyrule. He's done enough to assure me that we can now successfully get SH up and running swiftly, so I'm finally willing to come out and admit my admin status.

And now, let me preempt the question you're undoubtedly asking: is South Hyrule ready to be opened up now? No. Not yet. One of our moderators has undertaken a project concerning S Hyrule that Victor and I are really looking forward to seeing the results of (remember, we've been waiting for a longer time than anyone . . . save Raven . . . so if we can wait, you guys can too ;)). Once South Hyrule is done, I'm hoping that, should he have time, he might consider doing a similar project up here in North Hyrule, but we'll see how his timetable works out. In addition, I'm once again working with Draug to create a memorable bunch of experiences for us adventurers for when we finally head south. This is the duo who brought you the second annual Grand Celebration (which we really oughta close down now, save for the Tourney . . . take your cake while you still can!!!), so you can expect something truly . . . epic . . . :D

In the meantime, the only real thing that should concern you guys is that I'll be officially be taking over the process of approving various ideas of yours. Specifically Event ideas, which I've heard the RGs have received one or two of in the past few days. Let me just warn you all, though: I ain't gonna be as quick to approve things as Draug and them have been.

I'll be reporting in time about how South Hyrule's doing, but until then please continue on with your regularly scheduled adventuring.

Alpha

Alright, with South Hyrule's release coming ever closer, you're all undoubtedly looking forward to any and all information you can get about the subject, right? Well, that's too bad, because we've still got some details to take care of up north. Just a few little updates to report today, but they're all worth listening to.

First and foremost, the Grand Celebration has now officially ended...yeah, we're running quite late with that so Alpha finally managed to bully me into locking everything up and moving it to the Dungeon. So yes, the various game topics and the ever-loved Take the Cake quest are gone until at least next year. In addition, all of topics associated with Din's Traveling Troupe have been returned to the Crossroads, along with a few updated posts by yours truly. So anyone who's been wanting to do that bracelet quest can now do so.

The Grand Tournament will still continue until we have us a winner, though, so everyone who made it to Round 2 ought to expect a PM shortly. We'll be trying to finish that up ASAP...though we all know how that could turn out.

Finally, a few new Forums for everyone to enjoy! :D That's right, now that KP has the FTP we can actually make forums that work, so we're pleased to bring you official forums for the North Castle Library, North Castle Graveyard, and North Castle Barracks.

The first is one that we've had several topics made for already courtesy of the topic by Zeldaforever/Hiro which inspired this forum. The library can be accessed from the NC Town Square. Feel free to write up any literary works that you think might help your storyline or character and post them there!

Second is the Graveyard. This was inspired by the fact that the Traveler's Hostel can only show 150 topics...and currently there are 162. That's right, there are profiles that cannot be accessed via the Hostel page, so we've cooked up this little idea of ours. Nogare making a topic similar to this also helped us. Any adventurers who have been gone for some time or who have officially left will have their profiles moved into the Graveyard. The Traveler's Hostel, therefore, will be a place filled with the profiles of active RPers, and the Graveyard, accessed via either the Hostel or the Temple Quarter, will be for those who have left us and are 'presumed' dead (presumed because, should those RPers return, we'll be more than happy to return their profiles to the TH).

And finally the North Castle Barracks. This is something we've probably been needing for a while; it was spoken of in the Rules Set, at least, and that was written way back at the start of HA2 in 2005. This forum is a special forum for members of the Hylian Knights; only members of that group will be allowed access to what will serve as your base of operations. This forum can be reached via any of the 'Traveling Within the Castle' topics.

We'll still be working on these forums for the next few days, but go ahead and start getting used to them if you'd like.

Alright, welcome to 2008 everyone! Draug here, back from a relatively restful vacation and ready to get some stuff done in this new year of ours! Expect a post back in the Gohma Event; hopefully we can get that up and running once more before Saber needs to give his speech again.

And also, Kasei has asked me to let you all know that his Tower event is going to be on hold for a little while. That's really the only reason I made this post. :P

First off, I'd like to apologize for keeping you all waiting for the Gohma posts in the past...week or so... :? We're in the process of making a few crucial decisions concerning the event and South Hyrule itself, and it is with that in mind that I both post here and refrain from posting in the Gohma event. We really need to have another meeting of the mods, but one of the main moderators we need for the discussion hasn't shown up in a while...so I can't promise anything anytime soon. Sorry.

On the same note, but from a slightly different angle, however, is that we mods are requesting a bit of RPer support in the...issues...that will arise once South Hyrule opens. Primarily, we would like to start discussions with anyone and everyone whose personal storyline ties into the South in some way, shape, or form. So, if your story, your past, your brother's mother-in-law's sister's cousin's nephew's former Goron roommate have something to do with the south, or if you have any ideas about the south, please PM me about it.

Yes, me. Draug Layor. And only Draug. Not Alpha. Definitely not Alpha. So decrees Al - er, Draug.

Hey fellow Hyrule Adventurers! Tayro the junior mage here, to do some shameless self-plugging! *shot*'

I have been away for quite a bit, just lurking on the forums and reading stuff and not posting anywhere. This status has been present for about 3 months. I've been way busy with my life and other things that I shall not mention for you to remain sane and awake - random babbles usually render people asleep (XD) - but everything seems to be straightened out now. And thus, my storyline is once again on the move. *points to RftA IV in North Forest*

However, there's a slight problem. The members that were participating in it: Nogare, Blank, Zelda Veteran, Pabru... they all decided to flee and abandon poor Alpha to whatever fate awaited him (shame on you all! ), and thus the thread suffered from a great lack of members. Thus, it's now open again for any and everyone. If you'd like to help clear the Nightmare invaders on Alpha's subconscious, then all you got to do is send a PM my way saying you'd like to participate. Should I get enough people by then, it'll start either Thursday or Friday of next week.

Well, that's about it. A PM flood best start soon.

...

I mean it.

[/shameless self-plug]

So yeah . . . I know I promise a lot of you guys FoG 9 would start today. Unfortunately, I have a test tomorrow and need to study for that instead of posting here. Even if I did post the topic, I wouldn't be able to reply to anyone who posted. :( So, sorry, but I'm going to have to postpone FoG's continuation by a day or two.

If you want, there is a side topic talk between Sovelis and Zaboorak you can check out . . . (f34)

Oh, and PM Tayro about joining CS. Just do it. You know you want to.

And it has begun! Everyone get ready, for Force of Gold IX has begun at long last!

It's at the Castle gates (f28), so go there now and post! My storyline has been needing some fresh blood, after all!

Hi everyone! I'm the new RG, Anna Sassin! Draug asked me to help out because he was overwhelmed, so I thought I might as well. I don't do much, so I hope to be on here a lot!

...Although I really have no idea what's going on here, he's going to have to fill me in...

RG Anna

And then there's me, Sam Fenrir. {tries to think of something else to say and fails} So, um, yeah. Another new RG here. Pleased to meet y'all. Play nice now.

RG Sam
So yeah, for those who have not yet noticed, we've recruited a whole host of new mods and RGs to help us out as we [hopefully] move ever closer to the opening of South Hyrule (though we might be requiring some more posts there first...). I'm constantly having less and less time that I can spend here doing casual modding, and it's been a while since I've been able to speak with Alpha so I assume he's in the same position.

Firstly, we've got the new RGs, Anna and Sam, who will just be aiding us in planning stuff and taking care of official topics. Secondly we've promoted two of your fellow RPers up to the rank of moderators for various reasons. Sabertache is joining the group so as to start up his Ritoball minigame, the arena for which has been set up in New Peaktop just today. And then Sheila Rantil/HNS will has also joined the rank of the green to do something involving...potions...haven't talked with him about that yet, so we'll have to wait and see on that part.

Congrats to the new mods and RGs!

You know what one of the good things about extra RGs is? You can get more done.

So guess what we're getting done now?

Well, for one thing, we've got somebody who will post consistently in StS to keep it going, so we won't have to worry about month-long hangups anymore (Unless real life decides to make another appearance or something  )

And another thing that's been long overdue--the second round of the grand tournament. Yes, we've assigned somebody to run that as well. In fact, the first match is up now, and we get to see the mighty Alpha up against the now not a main character Rose!

Later!

To help with the defeating of Gohma, since so many people dropped out, there's a little treat to be found over in the southwest corner of Hyrule Field...Hopefully this'll help with killing the spider, seeing as how there's only some five warriors left. :?

Also, it might help with getting everyone excited for South Hyrule to open all over again

Later!

Alright, I'll admit it. Yesterday was an April Fools Prank. :P At least, part of it was. You see, I removed your rupees for a reason--Draug was still thinking over the weapons I had presented. He delivered his verdict today, however, and I think you'll all be pleased. So, things to check out:

1. Slaying the Spider--We got another RG post up there, and the fight with Gohma has picked up again! Come on now, South Hyrule is just within our grasp! :D

2. The shop topic in southwest Hyrule Field. There's a little treat there for all of you who were pranked :P

3. Quartermaster Hithos. You'll see why. 8)

4. The Town Square. The fight between Orpheous and Worru has ended, and now it's time for Tayro and Sovelis to duke it out!

Later!

A couple of points to keep in mind for you people who are using a spear or want to use a spear. 1.) You may use a shield with a spear. 2.) You may not dual wield with a spear.

Alright, we have a few more announcements for you. No new items (yet) but we do have our very own Alpha on a college break, so FoG has started up again. I'm sure you all can't wait for that to get going again. Also, for those of you with access to the Barracks, you may want to use it sometime soon...

And for the love of Din, don't forget about StS!

RG Sam here again, because RG Anna feels like I'm not helping out much here, which is totally not fair of her to accuse me of that because she keeps on taking care of things before I can get to them.

Anywho, accusations aside, from now on boomerangs have a chance to stun enemies each time they are used. Have fun with that.
