Well, Vic's been bugging me to do this ever since he managed to seize control of TDC through use of a hostile takeover (and you people thought that Jack was the one posting that congratulatory post on the mainpage . . . bwah-hah-hah!
), and I had some free time on my hands for the first time in about 2-3 weeks, so I figured I might as well go ahead and get this over with.
To make a long story incredibly short (something that I really, really like doing unless it's for creative writing stuff like . . . say . . . for RPGs . . .), my username is orange. You heard me: orange.
For those of you who do not grasp the meaning behind that detail, it means that I have been granted Administrator status here on HA2. Specifically I am now Head Administrator, in charge of all the RGs and the moderators of our fair website . . . with the possible exception of Victor, as he is the administrator for all of TDC and the only one with FTP access. Kinda gives him a bit of leverage, though a good revolt or two should put him back in his place if he ever decides to abuse his power (
).
It's actually quite humorous to me to finally be announcing this, because I have actually been orange since . . . well . . . since January, I guess it was. Way back when Jack was still active and I was just finishing up my TIPs for TDC, I requested the job of Head Admin as . . . well . . . I'm pretty sure we've all figured out that MG and SL13 aren't gonna be coming back anytime soon. Draug was able to hold down the fort in their absence, but I'd been talking with him and it was starting to wear on his nerves, so I figured, heck, why not? I was already in good standing with Jack, I'd actually been serving as a moderator for at least a year, and, not to brag, but I am probably the RPer who's been on the for the longest amount of time.
So Jack promoted me to admin almost immediately, and then I asked for the FTP passwords and all that . . . . . . . and that was the week that he decided to up and vanish on us for a few months.
I chose to keep my adminship a secret to the public until I got that FTP code, and I switched my account to invisible so that no one would see the telltale coloring. I mean, I've talked with the RGs, MG, and SL, and I knew full well what would happen if I announced that I was an admin: a flood of PMs in my inbox asking me when South Hyrule would be opening. In case you all didn't know by now, without the FTP it was basically impossible for us to even do any work on SH, let alone open it up to the public, and I wasn't wanting to put up with the mess of replying to an insane amount of PMs saying as much.
Now, of course, I may not have the FTP, but Victor does, and he's been working on fixing a few of the problems that have been present in South Hyrule. He's done enough to assure me that we can now successfully get SH up and running swiftly, so I'm finally willing to come out and admit my admin status.
And now, let me preempt the question you're undoubtedly asking: is South Hyrule ready to be opened up now? No. Not yet. One of our moderators has undertaken a project concerning S Hyrule that Victor and I are really looking forward to seeing the results of (remember, we've been waiting for a longer time than anyone . . . save Raven . . . so if we can wait, you guys can too
). Once South Hyrule is done, I'm hoping that, should he have time, he might consider doing a similar project up here in North Hyrule, but we'll see how his timetable works out. In addition, I'm once again working with Draug to create a memorable bunch of experiences for us adventurers for when we finally head south. This is the duo who brought you the second annual Grand Celebration (which we really oughta close down now, save for the Tourney . . . take your cake while you still can!!!), so you can expect something truly . . . epic . . .
In the meantime, the only real thing that should concern you guys is that I'll be officially be taking over the process of approving various ideas of yours. Specifically Event ideas, which I've heard the RGs have received one or two of in the past few days. Let me just warn you all, though: I ain't gonna be as quick to approve things as Draug and them have been.
I'll be reporting in time about how South Hyrule's doing, but until then please continue on with your regularly scheduled adventuring.
