As he fits the wood into the correct spot, and prepares to leave, the axel snaps once more. "Drrrat!" he groans.

After seeing the Goron squeal when he saw the wood, he was slightly worried about giving the wood. But the payment was what he needed. He handed the wood to the Goron, and winces when it squels. "Make sure your wagon gets fixed soon; you'll end up tearing your butt off when you stand..." He had obviously noitced that the caravaner had been sitting there for more than a year.
