(((OOC: This topic is open to the new rule set as soon as it is finished, courtesy of Pabru as well as Tayro.)))

A bright light sped through droplets of rain the showered down upon the North Forest, her tiny but bright light lighting her way through the heavy grey mist. Her two wings, one with an ungly purple scar, the other almost invisible pumped hard as she scanned the forest for somewhere to stop and rest. Although the rain would soak a regular human, hylian, or sheikah, the water never even made contact with her wax-like fairy wings or her tiny orb frame. She dropped about thirty feet and caught herself again, falling lower and lower to the ground with each drop. About ten feet above the trees she freefell and torpeedoed through branches and leaves. Just inches above the ground she arched down and made a smooth land. She made a small sumersault and changed into a child at the end. Getting up and looking around she found herself in a small clearing, sheltered from the rain by a thick canopy of tree limbs. Only a slight drizzle made its way past. Finding a decaying tree stump she sat down and breathed a huge breath of air in, clearing her mind.

Now, what I am here for... She thought over the previous day with all its mysterious happenings and events. She lifted her left arm up and examined the purple scar that she prized from a battle with a fire elemental. Well, actually it wasnt with the actual creature. It was with the imprint that it severed into the ground where she had defeated it. A dark mark with the letters SG entwined with shadowy tendrills and slashes. Remembering the day sent an icey chill up her spine and she had remembered how she had met Pyre with a smile. He had been good to her, trusting. And without him, she would most likely be dead right now. But he had sealed the wound long enough for her to seek better help in North Castle. She had befriended a doctor there who sealed the wound off for good, but purple blood still pulsed through that hand, as dark as shadow. The doctor had also told her to go to the north forest, seeking more information from an old mage that had spread a dark rumor about another goddess being born, calling herself the Goddess of Shadow. That was all that the doctor could tell her, so she soon made her way to the northwest seeking out the old mage man, Goridoni. (gore-ih-don-ee) She would see if he knew anything more about this 'Shadow Gonddess' and the connection between her and the scar embedded on her palm.

She looked up at the green roof of leaves and tree branches with a sky. Would she ever untangle this twisted secret she sook, or was it better left...unvailed?

splish-splosh-spllish-splosh

The sound grew closer, and closer, as a dark form pushed through the brush. The ground was saturated, making a thick mud along the forest floor. The samurai had his tabi tied to his belt, as he made his way through the forest. He didn't want to ruin his footwear, and was still a mile or two from home. Dogura loved the rain. Rain seemed to wash his troubles away, by luring all his senses out into the open for a good cleaning. The smell, the sound, the sight, the taste, the feel. All of his senses in a state of esctasy, he nearly failed to notice the small child just before him. Kneeling down, he tried to get a better look at the child. While Dogura often read the mental patterns of all strangers he happened to pass by, he couldn't seem to peer into the mind of this particular child. And that meant only one thing: a fairy. For some reason, out of all the people in Hyrule, Dogura only had problems reading fairies.

She seemed in distress, but the samurai digressed. He was about to move on, towards home, when that tiny nagging whisper in his ear made it's voice heard. His conscience certainly wouldn't be happy with him if he left a young child out in the middle of the forest, especially with thunder booming like it was. She was sure to have been frightened by the noises in the sky. Heaving a sigh, Dogura turned back around, and made his way back to the child. "Excuse me." The samurai excaimed, before realizing that his voice was being devoured by the rain that fell steadily from the heavens. Clearing his throat, he tried again. "Excuse me!" He cried out louder than before, kneeling next to the child. "Are you lost? Did you lose track of your parents? What are you doing our in this storm?"

~Pyre was running over the soft ground, the raining coming down on his head. He didn't mind the falling water much, but it did make the terrain more difficult to travel. The hylian cut through the trees of the North Forest, moving towards the home of a contact of his, an old reclusive seer that lived in these dark woods. The house was out of the way, the path made even more difficult in the wet conditions, but eventually he reached the spot.

Too bad for him, he found it deserted, and now had little choice but to weather out the rest of the day here. It was not a nice thought, for he wasn't looking to hours in the rain, but he was soon ripped out of his reverie when he heard a shout from the tree's nearby. Though it was vague, and being carried by the winds, it seemed awfully familiar.

The ranger moved up into the trees, and even though the branches were slick, he moved a little faster than before. Soon he saw Dogura standing in the rain, bent over. He wasn't too surprised to see the samurai, for he had thought the shout had seemed familiar, but he was quite taken aback by the fairy next to him. How did he always end up finding this girl?

The hylian leapt out of the tree, landing with a splash on the, now rather saturated, forest floor. He ran forward to see if everything was alright, but soon found that Dogura was just curious about why a lone fairy was out in the forest in such bad weather. Pyre couldn't help but share this sentiment, but knew that despite her appearance, the little fairy could be truly strong. After her final brutal attack, banishing the fire elemental to whatever hellhole it came frome, he saw Melody in a whole new light.

"Melody. What are you doing out here?"

The effect of the rain on his voice was quite surprising. Although it faded quickly into the beats of the raindrops, the wind seemed to lift it up and carry into other's ears. He had spoken softly, but he could hear himself clearly, he couldn't be absolutly certain, but assumed it was so. Such communication by wind was indeed an interesting concept, but he shook himself back to earth. The hylian was determined to find out more about the mysterious SG person. If this meant excepting the fairy's help, so be it. She was the one inflicted by the shadowy wound after all.

Letting his previous question fade away, as he already knew the answer, he asked another. "How's your arm?" The ranger said, looking at the injured limb with concern. The black bleeding had been far from natural; who knew what curse the damage carried. While he waited for an answer, he made a quick glance at Dogura, but wasn't too worried about his fellow ranger. The samurai had a strong sense of honor, and Pyralin was sure that he would do everything he could to help the fairy out, just as he would. Neither ranger was about to abandon Melody to the ominous fate that seemed to await her, even though Dogura didn't know all of the details about what had happened before.~

Melody frowned, as though she had been interupted by a rather annoying bug of sorts. Nay, just a samuri bent over her and...was it? Pyre? She smiled, getting up and pushing past the samuri. "Pyre. Funny we should run into each other at a time like this. I was just going to see an old mage that might give us me some more information." realizing that the samuri had asked her questions she turned to him, "Oh, indeed I am quite fine." she scanned over him quickly and deciding she could share a bit of information with him she added, "I am a fairy, not a lost child. I have wondered out here to seek advise from a mage that a friend has told me about. Perhaps you have heard of the rumor of the Shadow Goddess?" this time her line of sight traveled back to Pyre, "I believe she is behind all the strange things that happened less than a fort night ago, with a certain fire elemental that Pyre, Kasei and I bumped into by...chance? I think not." she sent Pyre a look full of meaning and questions, as if she could find answers in his eyes. But nothing was quite so easy in his deep brown eyes. "We definitly need to find more information before..." she took a gulp of saliva and dared say nothing more than that. Yes, more information before I am distorted into something stranger than I already am.

Giving Dougra a summery on what had happened, leaving out the goriest of details, she turned to Pyre, "What I said before about going our seperate ways....perhaps that would not be too wise." she mumbled, the words coming out distorted and strange compared to Pyre's melodic and soft voice. "I was wrong. I want you to be there when I find out who SG is. I want you to be there when and if I need to fight something twice, or three times my stength! I want you to be there, Pyre, to nudge me in the right direction when I am going astray." she spoke as if no one else was in the clearing, the water logged air blowing back strands of her hair and her eyes glinting with a determination that hadnt been there before. Where would she be now, without Pyre? Nowhere was the obvious answer, but the real answer was less obvious, Somewhere where I shouldn't be. Still weak and hiding. Pyre pulled out a side of me that I would have never known. A side that is different. Feirce and hostile, evened out by pride and gentleness. Where would I be? Without thinking too far into this subject she asked a last and steely question, "Are you in?" the dark shadows under her eyes of days with sleep haunted by dark dreams gave her a chilling air, one that wouldnt be laughed at. Her question was one that when you answered, you couldn't go back on.

(((OOC: AWWWW, right? Sweet little Melody's dark side dug out by Pyre! so sweet! <3 hehe, yea right.)))

Dogura was a bit unnerved by the fairy, when she shoved him aside. Had he not a superior sense of balance, he would have fallen right into the mud. The samurai stood up, and was about to leave, before he realized that he hadn't greeted Pyralin. "Is everyone out here in this storm?" Dogura asked, smiling all the while. "Good afternoon Pyralin." Turning once again to head for home, something caught his attention. Shadow Goddess. Again, he sighed, and spoke up. "I know children like to spread rumors, but I assure, it is nothing more than legend. Myth. In fact, it was a very popular legend back in Shadowclaw when I was growing up!" Cocking his head, he wondered why she was interested in the Shadow Goddess. "What brings her to your lips?"

OOC: This is cool! Keep it going Kes :D

~Pyre took the coming information in stride. Shadow Goddess? A legend from Dogura's homeland? It seemed things were MUCH more complicated than he had originally expected. It sounded like a plot, probably involving some exotic cult. If he was apprehensive then, it only worsened when Melody asked him if he was "in". Such promises, though potentially exciting, tended towards being potentially deadly.

The hylian nodded his head, a slight sigh passing escaping him. "I'll do everything I can to help out." He was slightly frightened about the haunted aura that seemed to cling to the fairy. It could just be fatigue, or fear, or hatred for the creatures that had hurt her, but he suspected something else. What was the true nature of the wound, and what could it end up doing.

Pyre's eyes flicked over to Dogura. He assumed that Melody's question had extended to the samurai, but couldn't be sure. When he thought of the way that the fairy had simply pushed him aside, he nearly burst out laughing, but contained himself, only a slight merriness in his eyes betraying the emotion. This was a time to be serious. He turned his full attention back to Melody, and awaited her plan of action. She was the one injured, so it was only natural that she would lead, if not in battle, then in important desicion making.~

(((OOC: Yeah, keep it up  )))
