The sky was filled with ominous clouds that seemed ready to burst forth their insides, to cover the land of Hyrule with their sweet gift of rain. Even so, this didn't stop a particular mage from standing out in the open, his bright red cloak flapping in the wind. With his back to the wind, it looked like he was some red flag, a hood covering his blond haired head.

"Dammit Arrika....you should have been here an hour ago..." he said, slightly annoyed, a smile on his ever youthful face. "Now...lets start your training, shall we?"

"Hey, hey, I'm here, kay? I had a job in town. It took a little longer than I thought, but.... er... yeah," Arrika said, running towards the Tempest with her hood on upon seeing the state of the clouds. She didn't really like to share the details of any business she had with others. "This is my favorite weather, you know? I find the sun annoying sometimes. Oh yeah, I got that scroll too. And I'll have you know I actually paid for this," she said proudly, ignoring the fact that her wallet had been full only because she'd recently taken someone's purse.

Sovelis looked at Arrika with a strange gleam in his eyes...they seemed to be filled with more gold color than his natural green. "Now...lets see what your capable of Arrika!" he said, holding his staff high as he spoke a spell loudly.

"Protection of Nayru, giver of light,
Grant me power.
Shield me from these beasts,
keep me from harm,
and suround me with your power!"

OoC: So this is a stats fight?

"What? You're gonna beat me up first?" Arrika said, getting a little nervous but drawing her dagger anyway. Sovelis had a strange look in his eyes, a dangerous one. She circled the Tempest with her dagger crossing her chest, watching him intently. The thief would wait to see what Sovelis would do, reasoning that trying to attack him after they'd just begun the fight would end badly and quickly.

Sovelis looked at the circling Arrika as his shield dissolved into the air. "Not rushing into the fight? Have you learned some patience after all?" he taunted, locking his golden gaze on Arrika's form. "I'll restrain from my own magic...to keep things more interesting."

The Tempest rushed at his female pupil, and swung his mage staff sideways, both hands gripping it tightly as he tried to hit Arrika, and knock her away from him. ([3+1]Roll+AGL; i think I'm doing it right for once... )

The staff may have been swung with strength that few would expect from a mage, even one as well known as the Last Tempest.But the target was a lithe, young sheikan thief; a very agile one at that. Arrika seemed to evade here teacher's blow with ease, almost as if she were dancing with her blood-thirsty, golden eyed friend.

OoC: A note to you Arrika.
You have only enough magic to perform ONE fire spell. thats why I had you get tat scroll, so you'd have at least one spell at your disposal to use against me. Use this power wisely, and remember, you don't have to chant like Sovelis does, it is only one of the many different ways of saying your casting a spell. If you need me to, just PM me and I'll explain it more for you before you post, okay?

Arrika dodged Sovelis's staff, hoping that it was due to more to skill than luck. It had come so close that she felt the rush of air it came with, her heart beating wildly. "You're just trying to bait me so you can prove that even an old guy like you can beat someone up," she said instead. Her feet touched the ground lightly and the split second after the Tempest missed she lunged forward, her dagger no more than a flash slicing through the air.

OoC: Just one spell? That's a bit harsh... Am I fighting right?

OoC: Your only Level 2 Arrika. As you gain levels, the amount of magic you'll have will increase. And yea, your fighting sounds pretty good to me!

The dagger seemed like a wooden blur to Sovelis's eyes as he tried to step back, out of the range of the short blade Arrika was using.[13+6:Roll+AGL] He was a step too slow, and winced as the thin dagger cut down his chest and through his skin. Sovelis held his real hand to the wound, and smiled at his student. "Good! Thats it! You have draw first blood! What will you do now? Will you carve my heart out and drink the power that resides in my blood?" he hissed, his eyes glowing with a golden fire now. "Will you be the one to taste the darkness, and be the next to follow my path?"

Sovelis pulled his hand from his bleeding chest and held it out to Arrika, his smile
Blood for blood, a price to be paid,
Fires of hatred flow through my veins!
Obey me as I demand retribution,
Lash out, like a fiery raid!
The Tempests hand filled with a small, burning inferno. Exactly as it had when he had confronted Arrika as she tried to steal the Tempest's Blade. Only, this time the fire in Sovelis's hand didn't die out. This time, it roared and lunged at Arrika, surrounding her within a flaming hell of power and hate.[RES Check:17+1 (Roll+SPI) ]

OoC: Level 3! And did that mean you hit me?

IC: "I'm not going to drink your blood!" Arrika said, getting scared, fear overtaking her initial feeling of success as she cut him. Sovelis's eyes were full of rage and she thought he was really going to kill her. Arrika screamed as the flames surrounded her, shielding herself with her cloak, or rather what was left of it and the flames consumed it. It fell apart in her hands, her eyes wide as she watched his blood drip steadily from his hand.

OoC: you forgot to attack there.

IC: Sovelis let his bloody hand flop limply to his side, and started to walk towards Arrika. "Whats the matter? Is a little pain too much for you? Come one! Fight me or go back to the house." the Tempest grabbed her arm and pulled her close. He looked down into her dark eyes with his golden gaze, and smiled. "Or is this too hard for you? Maybe something easier for the little thief?"

Arrika glared at him, then felt for the dormant magic within her, calling up embers in her hand, her palm glowing with flames. "Pain? I've been living it. This is nothing!" She shoved her hand in the Tempest's face, letting the flames blast from her and praying that her first attempt at magic would hit its target, even though he was inches away from her. "You shouldn't underestimate a thief so quickly."

Sovelis's face was indeed a very vulnerable target, and it was no wonder that Arrika had chosen her teacher's face to be the first target of her first spell. [RES Check 15+3:Roll+SPI] Sovelis let go of her arm and screamed at the top of his lungs as he stumbled away, clawing at his skin with all ten of his fingers; metal and living. "GGGGAAAAHHHH!!!" his roar of pain seemed to fill the air with anguish as he looked at her. He held his steely hand to the half of his face that was burnt, pieces of cooked flesh seeping between the metallic fingers. Blood oozing down his fake arm, his neck, and his chest.

"You!!! Look what you have done!!!" he hissed, looking at her with his one remaining eye. The other was obliterated, no longer able to see anything at all.

IC:Arrika's breathing was getting harsher. Magic took a lot more energy than she had figured and right now her odds at living to see tomorrow didn't look too good.

Arrika freaked out. "Oh my goddesses Sovelis I didn't mean to!!!! Farore have pity on me Din save my sinful soul don't send me to the endless Abyss oh goddesses-" she started to babble wildly, horrified at what she had done, her hands over her mouth and her nails digging into her cheek. "Oh no oh no I'm such an idiot I didn't mean to- I didn't-!!!!" Arrika wanted to run to him but didn't think that was such a great idea at the moment. "Let's go to Rhyss! He can heal you perfectly if we get there fast enough! I-" Before she knew it she was crying, sobbing like she hadn't for many years. Okay, um, try to run, Shadowmeld, or beg him to spare my soul? That one worked a couple times, yes, I'll try and then I can Shadowmeld if that doesn't work-

Arrika's mind was spinning and she almost wanted to throw up, but she couldn't stop crying. "I'msorrydon'tkillmeeventhoughIknowIdon'tdeservetoliveanymore!!!" The Sheikah went down on her knees and clasped her hands together in fear. Okay I'll give him 5 seconds or else I run or I stay and die yes yes that's what I'll do!

OoC: Lets just say one thing...THANK YOU FOR DEMONIC REGENERATION!!!
And lets just say that training is over for now...okay?

Sovelis staggered over to Arrika. His automail hand was extremely bloody, and it it was a good thing that his clothing is black and red, or else he's have to clean out a major blood stain. "Arrika...Don't...worry...I'm alright...just need to use...some power to...regrow the tissue...thats all...

Arrika froze as the Tempest got closer, her feet twitching to send her running back through the trees. Instead she stood up, wiping away her last tears and shaking. "I"m sorry," she gasped, hugging herself. "I'm so stupid, I shouldn't have tried that so close to you, that was a really cheap attack-"

"No...its not your fault." Sovelis said, pulling his hand away from the ruined half of his face. "I was...out of control. You did what you needed to, and I'll be okay..." He smiled at Arrika as the wound slowly started to heal. Sovelis had a red glow surrounding him, and he fell to his knees in pain as the skin started to grow back quickly. He clutched his automail hand to his right shoulder, as if that spot was burning as well. The power's of Sovel leaked out of the seal as the skin finished growing. Only his eye was missing.

Sovelis looked up and winced as that started to re-grow as well. First, a small glob of red filled the socket. then it started to form into an eye. The pupil wasn't human though, it was red, and slitted like a cat's eye. And it seemed to have a slight fire within it from the demonic powers that worked to regenerate the Tempest's good looks.
