OOC: Hi, I'm new here. I've studied this game, and know enough about it to go on without help. The Rules Set was easy enough, though I'd like to debate about various concepts with the Royal Guard. I'm the NPC Dungeon Master. For a solid name, since I have no single character to stick with, just call me King.

IC: They say that North Castle is the heart of our kingdom. The saying was ancient, back when the kings of old betrayed their old friends for power, for nothing. Now that saying has become literal. The North is all that's left of Harkinain's kingdom. Who knows what's become of the South, and the East is likely beyond the king's concern anymore. Huddled in this last little hideout before the real battle begins to decide the fate of this doomed land.

Welcome. This is where it began, when New Hyrule was claimed and complete. This is where it will end and be corrupted.

Hylian Knights hurry on past, bearing their weapons, hurrying to their posts. No battle yet, but whatever military order they received, it does not affect you. Unless...

Why was the drawbridge open, anyway? Anyone could walk it, and the King Harkinian most of all should be concerned about that. Most people come and go freely, such as the Gorons from the Goro-goro Cartel. Others could be spies, enemies. Anyone could be an enemy. Many mysterious people walk the streets, such as that magician with the staff glowing with a bone-chilling aura. Or that cloaked man whose own face can't be seen from the shadows of his hood, running his hand over something hidden within. A weapon? Does he plan to cause an 'accidental' death to an enemy or an assignment from his master? Is he an exile or a lone wolf? How could you know? Everyone gives such people distance. If they get in his way, perhaps they'd be next. Not since the times when a powerful magician could slay numerous people at once have people liked being near such moving shadows with minds of their own.

Then the cry came.

"DEK TO TLI KEMG!" Where the cry came from is unknown. What is going on?!

OOC: I will use stats. Every Awareness, Insight, Innate, Dodge, and Translate check will be put into account. Have fun, enjoy the event, and comment about how well I did out of character. Much appreciated.

OOC: Well welcome to the system Dungeon Master. This is probably one of the cleverest starting topics I have seen in my time here. I'm guessing that since you have analyzed every aspect of the game, you have probably been watching this community for a while, and that you already have the general scope of events planed out. You stated that this will be a state based topic, so I would like to ask one question, are we permitted to use more than one character? If so, more characters will be joining the one introduced in this topic. And by the way, we are working on a new rule set, most likely to fix many of the things you probably noticed that was wrong with it. It's been in the making for quite some time, so I can assure you that it will be good.

IC: Holmes was on the case again. His brilliant cunning was razor sharp, and his genius logic was undeniable. Ever since the Gohma event, people began to realize that his intelligence was just as formidable as his unearthly talents, this including his wordmancing ability. However, he wouldn't be needing it today. His name was one of the few things about him shrouded in mystery, that an the sin that he seeks atonement for. He went by "Orpheous."

His position in society was high, as he was main co-founder of the peace seeking organization called "The People's Front of Hyrule." Recently they had taken care of several large cases such as: taking care the some of the sinister ambassadors assisting King Harkinian, dealing with the Masters of Destruction, and putting an end to Cell Sky's plot to force several of Hyrule's best warriors, including himself, to work for them.

When he first arrived in Hyrule, he came by reading himself into this world. He did this by using his mysterious power called wordmancing (or, once called inkweaving). It allows him to read anything out of written work, in a technique much like summoning; however, he can also put things, both living and inanimate, into written work. He found himself a descriptive scroll of the Kingdom, and just read himself here.

Once arriving, he bought everything he needed to blend in. Then, he lived in the village called Galfin, where he met an orphan by the name of Simon Grendel. His parents were killed by a warlord, and his sister went into a state of depression that lowered her immune system due to her parents death. This caused her to gain a deadly illness and die. Orpheous took him in as his apprentice, and the two wondered around Hyrule, gathering experience, making friends, and doing good deeds.

It had been along time since then. Simon had gained his vengeance, and yet, the the warlord still remained a threat. Orpheous was out, strolling, observing his surroundings. He received an anonymous tip off that there might be some big trouble in little Castle Town. He had already caught the thieves who were behind that warning, but he decided that he would investigate around town more to see if he could have missed much else.

He spotted the magician first. He had seen a lot of magicians. They weren't uncommon, especially in Castle Town. However, his magician gave off an odd feeling, so did his staff. They seemed somewhat sinister.

After looking around some more, he spotted another out of place man. He man concealed by a cloak. Perhaps an assassin, he did look like he might have been planning an attack. However, he couldn't just bust those two for looking suspicious. He sat down on a bench and waited. Then he heard a cry.
"DEK TO TLI KEMG!"
He perked his head up, and thought about the line. First off, where was it coming from [insight check]? Second off, what language was it in [translation check]?

OOC: Just so you know, this character is a scribe. His stats are in my signature.
Also, he has these talents:

L1 Leadership
L2 Hylian Intelligence (included in stats)
L2 Goron Strength (included in stats)
L1 Life
L2 Train:Boomerang
L2 Elemental Burst
L1 The Quill is Mightier than the Sword
L1 Epic Poem
L1 Exceptional Health
L2 Exceptional Health (included in stats)
Fire Scroll

Also, because he is a human, he innately can speak only the common language. He knows no other languages.

Once again, let me know if we are allowed to use other characters. This is going to be fun. Oh, and, first to a reply to this topic. And a long reply that that.

This day was weird to say the least. Strange people were running around looking like they would kill you where you stood. Days like these put Kuro on edge. Kuro entered the town after a small meeting with some people he had met. He didn't know if they would be following him or not, but Kuro hoped they were.

Kuro wasn't wearing clothes he normally wore. Today, he sported a dark red coat that reached down far in the back. His pants were a dark khaki color, and wore brown boots. He walked through the town with his hand placed on the hilt of the sword strapped to his back.

He was relatively knew to the castle town, being born in Rauru. His parents were killed and he and his brothers fled to Ruto when they were ten. On their seventeenth birthday, they went their separate ways. Kuro came to the castle town, while his brothers went elsewhere.

During his time adventuring, his main goal was to kill the man that made him an orphan. He has so far had no luck finding him, but has made several friends along the way. Most of which were most likely plundering the house he built in the North forest. That didn't bother him much, but what was going on did.

He didn't know what was going on, but a few things tipped him off. First of which were the many malevolent looking people walking around the castle. The first one he caught sight of was a vicious looking mage. He had seen mages before, but something about this one was evil.

After this, he heard the shout. He then needed no more prompting. He quickly drew his sword, and got on his guard. He bent his knees a little. This would allow him to dodge whatever may attack him. [Dodge Check]

OOC: Welcome to Hyrule! I agree with Orph, this topic certainly is clever.

Anyway, his stats are in my siggy, and these are his abilities:

Favor of the Goddesses
Exceptional Endurance
Train:Spear L1
Train:2H Sword L1
Disarm L1
Dual Wield L1
Nomadic Awareness L1
Elemental Burst L1
Exceptional Health L2 (included in stats)

Ooc: Well I must say you are stirring up quite a bit of commotion. In fact, it's rather thrilling. You have already made a name for yourself and helped make HA2 more interesting. CONGRATS, I could kiss you for it, but I digress..

Aiden was actually walking on the drawbridge, her bright eyes full of life watched the guards. They were behaving oddly, it made her uneasy. Often the guards just stoof around and did nothing.. in fact the only time she had really seen them interact was when the cake was out, and there was certainly no cake out. She would have smelled it after all, Aiden had a nose for sweets.Looking about her she wondered what made them react so.

It had been awhile since she had come to the castle, perhaps too long by the look of it. On this trip out she had been practicing her flute, in fact, she could now mimic most of the common birds fairly well. A skill not all bards took the time to learn, even though it was fairly simple, only a few calls really tricky. That was not the point however, the point was she had possibly missed out on something big. Or, was something big still about to happen? The thought made her heart beat a little faster and she began to look about wildly. It was probably not safe her to be out here. The thought caused her big bright eyes to narrow as she scanned the area [Awareness Check] In fact, she realized, she was probably out in the middle of this muddled mess!

When the call went out Aiden froze, what was that? Her body may have been still, but her brain was working full force. [Translation Check] (Ooc: Just because I can and maybe it will work -shrug-) For a second she pondered if the voice seemed angry, scared, or some other noticable tone..[Awareness Check] Her hand on her dagger she was ready and alert.

Ooc: Yes i know I used the awareness check twice, but at two different times for two different reasons.

OOC: ... Thanks. Three greetings today, and all of them saying I'm a good writer. I expected congratulations perhaps a little ways in, but all at once from three veterans is pretty big for me. Thanks.

IC: Orpheous' insight pierced through the crowd whose small conversations became exclamations of horror. "Allomeen!!" hollered some from the crowd. No translation was needed to know that the Hylian was yelling for everyone to run. To hide. Seek shelter. Anything. Perhaps you should follow... perhaps you should not...

Then the young scribe wished he had never looked. His insight succeeded, but what he saw was a terror no one without a lion's heart could stand to. (OOC: I wish there was something along the lines of fear immunity as a skill check...). And at the same time, if his translation check hadn't guessed already which language it was, he knew now.

There, before them, was a band of monsters, armed to from head to toe, streaming through the drawbridge like a swarm of angry wasps. Infernal. What they said, however, was unclear.

But there was also other movement. By the building! The cloaked man reached for something within his cloak - the very thing he was feeling for earlier. And the magician! He looked at the mass of monsters of every kind before him, and his eyes gleamed. Not a sign of fear. Almost welcome. But the way he rubbed his thumb against his staff, as if he was ready to fight...

The nomad near Orpheous was right to be prepared. The first order was an obvious one to kill as many as they could from the very beginning. "VOLD!" Volley. Arrows ripped at the sky, then at the land below. People fell everywhere. The cloaked man continued to fumble with the thing in his cloak. He still had not drawn it, whatever it was, and he darted into an alley to have cover from the arrows. Kuro's plan to dodge proved helpful, and he hid behind a barrel just in time, right beside the alley that the cloaked man ran into (OOC: The dodge failed, and I'm taking health off for it, but I don't like the idea of having people stabbed over and over again and not dying.) A couple near the nomad shoved a child inside a house, so their child could live while together they fell with a forest of arrows shot though them.

Orpheous saw them coming, but he couldn't move. There was nowhere to hide. What could he expect to do, parry them with his sword? There was no escaping... (OOC: Yes, you get hurt too, Orpheous).

At that moment a man in Hylian Knight armour raised his shield and covered both of them under the massive thing. "You're Orpheous, right?" he asked through heavy breaths. The arrows planted themselves in the shield he held up, but not through. "Help me defeat them. Their infantry will storm in and we have to hold them. I've heard you have gone and fought before, so this may be no different. If we can get past the infantry the archers will be less of a problem. When we charge, I'll slay the archers while you guard my back and fight off the spearmen who we break past. I don't know how long we can hold them, but help will come. We can fight by ourselves, but most others will have entire battalions at the ready to head into the fight. We can't depend on them. Not until we make it there and distract them. That will buy the others time and cover. Are you ready?"

All the while, the magician held his staff high, preparing a spell that could do lethal damage to whoever his opponent was...

OOC: Ah yes, you're choices will affect you all dearly, my friends. Fight who you will, help who you will, and win. This will determine how the story plays out afterwards with your following post.

EDIT: Darn, another post. I'm working on Brizzy's part right now. Please wait.

OOC: Wow, someone wanting to kiss me. That's a first, heh. -blush- But we're on the internet, so I don't see how that would work...

IC: Aiden was closest to the drawbridge. Her first awareness check fails, but her second succeeds, though the former of the two was hardly necessary when she saw what massed before her. The cry was an order to the army that stood before her now. She would know. She was there. They were storming in, hundreds of them. The watchman had fallen asleep on the job, it seemed, so the people couldn't be warned. The archers at the top of the wall just above the drawbridge... it could only be imagined what happened to them while no one else was looking...

Then they spotted her. They loaded their bows and crossbows. She was too far away for help to come. The knight who had saved Orpheous was coming her way, though she didn't know it. She would have to fight off as many as she could on her own until the knight came. But even when he did come, they were many. The volley came. No cover or hiding place could be found. What can the bard do to defend herself against this storm.

OOC: AND I FORGOT THE HP! The arrows hit both Orpheous and Kuro, and the DMG is 5. However, I'll allow Brizzy to think of some way to not get hurt before they arrows hit her.
Orpheous: 48 HP, 39 SPL
Kuro: 66 HP, 6 SPL
Brizzy: 32 HP, 11 SPL

Post: I'm glad I'm suddenly the winner of Hyrulean Idol. Like, you have no idea how honoured I am to have people say I'm good at writing. Few people do...

Kuro cringed as the arrows shot into the air and killed several people, then cringed again as he was hit. He took a chance to peek on the other side of the barrel and was amazed at what he saw. Hordes of monsters. Not exactly the most comforting sight in the world. What's more, the strange people that he had noticed earlier seemed to be acting different than he had expected. They didn't look like they were on anyone's side, but might not strike unless they were provoked, so Kuro decided not to take any chances by attacking, so he decided to stay alert again. [Dodge Check]

As the arrows rained down onto the street, several forms appeared. The first few, and most recognizable ones, were those of four Garo ninja, the servants of the fifth being to appear, Kasei Dornmos Gobi, a general of Hyrule and one of the Seven Stars. He looked to the sky as an arrow appeared, and reached out his hand, grabbing the projectile as it was inches from his face.

"It looks like we have an invasion. Is it the dark army? Garo, try to protect as many civilians, and kill the enemy. We need no prisoners." He ordered, and his servants split up into four direction, while the shiekah himself drew his scimitar, and moved forward, towards the group that had so foolishly approached North Castle with bows and arrows. The Rebel Flame decided to remind them all how he got his title, and let the magic of Hyrule flow through his veins. He closed his left eye, and then let the attack go. An inferno, a blaze, shot out of his right eye, and sped towards the nearest invaders. He guided it, prayed to the gods that he would be able to whipe out at least one. In the meantime, he prepared himself for any magical or arrow-inclined attacks. [Resistance Check][DEF Check/Dodge Check (whichever one.]

OOC: Is it too late to join? 8)

IC: It was a quiet leisurely day. The wind blew crisply across the Goron's rough skin as he slowly made his way through the North Castle streets. The clouds hung above like a painting, and the sky blended them expertly with the blue and white hues. Shigure smiled, and breathed in the air around him, letting it out with a heavy delightful sigh. His eyes glistened with warmth as he followed the road down to his favorite restaurant. He was feeling like fried cucco, and nobody grilled it like Stinky. Stinky's Cucco-House was high on his favorites since arriving in Hyrule, and he never missed the chance to eat there when in North Castle Town. He smiled even brighter, considering jogging there. People used to fear him here when he first arrived. But upon multiple accounts of seeing him around, and playing with the children, the townsfolk have come to realize that there is no bigger heart in a Goron. People he knew would often greet him, and Stinky's Cucco-House had even made a special booth large enough for him. Smiling even larger than before, he decided on jogging and increased his pace. Everything was wonderful on this particular day-

until this particular moment.

Shigure stopped as a tiny voice caught his ears. "Mr.Goron..." He stopped, and stared at the child before him. The Goron's eyes hardened as he took in what he saw. "Mr.Goron... you have to help the people... use your muscles Mr.Goron... I know you can save everyone..." Shigure was speechless. "Malevont..." He spoke the child's name through a cracking voice. "What happened to you, who did this?!" One of the many children that the Goron saw every time he'd ventured to North Castle Town, now stood before him in a pool of his own blood. Arrows were pierced through his body, and he was missing an eye. Blood seemed to run from every pore in the boy's face, and he had a look on his face as if he didn't know what was happening. "The bad guys... they... at the draw-bridge... h-help them Mr.Goron..." Malevont fell, and died at Shigure's feet. Silence. Chills. Anger. Uncontrollable rage filled the massive Nomad's body as he gritted his teeth, staring hard at the boys no longer moving body.

He knelt down, and scooped up the boy in his arms, carrying him to a nearby building. He pushed the door open, walked inside. It seemed to be a bank. A receptionist sat at the counter busy with the phone. Paying no heed, the Goron lurched up the counter, and placed the boy on top of it. The Hylian woman at the counter shrieked, and dropped the phone in mid-sentence. "Call the clerics. If there is nothing that can be done for this boy. Pay for a funeral for him." He said in his deep Goronic voice. The Goron dropped a sack of rupees on the counter, and lurched out, leaving the woman speechless. Standing in the middle of the street, he thought for a moment, clenching his fists so tight they began to lose circulation. In a lightning fast motion, Shigure tucked into a tight boulder, and sped off towards the drawbridge. Avoiding people and obstacles, he finally reached the main-road, which led directly to the draw-bridge. He stood up, and removed his Ball&Chains from his back, letting them drop to the ground. They created a small cloud of dust around them as they made impact with the ground. His eyes were stone cold as they had been when he'd returned from war so many years ago... Only this time, they burned with the red hot intensity of relentless merciless hate.

He was ready to smash some heads.

OOC: Welcome to Hyrule Adventures! You're a great writer for a new guy! Interesting story too. Meet Shigure. He's my Goron, and chosen character for this event. He'll be sure to pack a wallop, so don't go easy on him! :)

Orpheous cursed as he was about to be struck by a volley of arrows. Then, suddenly, a knight, who appeared to have come from nowhere, blocked both of them with his shield. He listened gratefully to what the man had to say.
Finally, Orpheous responded. "Yes, I am Orpheous, head of the People's Front of Hyrule, and, of course I have combat experience." He nodded in agreement to the man's other information, such as getting past the infantry to dispose of the archers. After all, so long as they had archers, they had the vast majority of the warriors pined. If they could free another other citizen brandishing arms, or any other knight for that matter, it would be a good thing. When the night asked him if he was ready, he had only two words: "Hell yeah!"

As the two began to run through the infinity, Orpheous was a little precious as to why no enemies tried to attack him directly. Sure, he got hit by a few arrows along the way, but no enemy came up directly and tried to engage him in sword to sword combat. Then he noticed five more combatants join them. Four Garo ninjas, who Orpheous first thought might be from an enemy clan. However, after recognizing their cloak design, he remembered them. Kasei's Garo Ninja Division. And soon following them, the main man himself, Kasei D. Gobi. However, the scene was too chaotic to call out to him. He only hoped the Rebel Flame had some idea of what to do. Having depleted much of his strength in a battle earlier this weak, Orpheous was unable to preform massive acts of inkweaving, or even simple acts of telepathy without a huge amount of effort, something that he couldn't concentrate on right this moment. So instead, he put his logic back to work

Think, man, think. Why are they attacking Castle Town [insight check]? Is the magician the leader, or is the stealthy man; perhaps even both, or neither [insight check]? Take a nice long look at the magician while protecting the knight from spearsmen to see who the magician intends to attack [awareness check]. Look for insignias: on armor, weapons, or anything of the like... do these invading warriors belong to a syndicate, or are they exiles in general [insight check]? Also, be sure to stay on your toes in case the magician tries to attack you [dodge check].

Suddenly, he noticed two other figures emerge from the blood crazed crowed. It appeared that they were coming from the same direction as the PFH building. Back up was arriving. Orpheous had expected more, but, once he realized who it was, he was both glad and angry.

The first was his apprentice, Simon. The roughly nineteen year old who was almost as talented as Orpheous was. Secondly, was his beloved, Silna, whose relationship with Orpheous had spiked rather recently(and not like in the perverted way, just that they were kissing a lot more, and spent more time together, as opposed to when their relationship first started in the tournament). They were both skilled warriors, and he was happy that they could be assisting in combat. However, he was also upset that such love ones would risk themselves in battle. Oh well, they felt that way about him all the time.

Simon went too aid Kuro in combat with the cloaked man, while Silna stayed behind with Orpheous, trying to help him fight of the swordsmen. She was equipped with daggers in both hands. She spoke to him, "Orphy, the rest of the workers are gathering their weapons and combat equipment, they will be here to back us up as soon as possible." Without a reason other than the fact she was happy he was surviving the invasion, even though he had dealt with much worse and came out fine, she kissed him. After parting lips with his, she continued to speak, "I noticed you and the knight where trying to get past the infantry to take out the archers. I'm with you. Simon went to go take care of the shady assassin guy." All the while while she was talking, she pondered about the same things Orpheous did (OOC: that's right King, you are going to have to re-due all those checks, save for the dodge check, but with her stats). All the while, she too remained on her toes to dodge any attack with the race of a dancer (you should have saw this check coming too) [dodge check].

Meanwhile, Simon was indeed assisting Kuro. Once he arrived in the alley, he spoke briefly to Kuro, "Nice to see you again, Kuro." Then, he pulled out his two handed sword, in an attempt to strike the cloaked man mid chest.

Aiden couldn't believe the swarm that seemed to appear out of nowhere, but such was Hyrule. She didn't waste time in drawing her dagger, if she did nothing she knew she'd be doomed. Taking in all the happenings she knew that no matter what she did she'd be injured, there was just no way around it. For a moment she thought about using shadowmeld to hide her for this round, but in the end that wouldn't do much good for anyone, would it? Then again the enemy was too far off for her dagger to do her any good what-so-ever. Within seconds she attempted her shadowmeld, hoping her trick would not let her down [Innate: Shadowmeld].

If it did work, she would simply move herself closer to the enemy, hoping to get within range of her dagger, or at least not be standing in the exact same spot she disappeared in.

Although, if she found herself still visible she might panic a little. In fact, she would have to settle for becoming less of a target. She would roll forward and try to keep moving towards them, zigging, zagging, and rolling.

OOC: Um, Orpheous, I don't think Kuro is attacking the cloaked man. Just Simon. Also, this goes for everyone, try your best to make your characters do the same stuff. If you can help it. As it is, Orpheous will have trouble following the story now that he's separated his characters. And try your best to keep your playable characters to a minimum. Kasei, your Garos will only be role played with, not with stats. And what are the Seven Stars?

IC: The holler came again, and after a pair of chants from the beasts, the arrows were spurted from the mass of archers. Kuro was fortunate that he knew when to duck, and that he in fact had cover, weak though it was. But it wouldn't last much longer. Another hit and perhaps it would break, and he would join the civilians he just saw crumble with the weight of deadly arrows. Thanks to the barrel, he was not hurt and they all stamped against the top and the side of the protection (OOC: Yes, you were hit).

Meanwhile, on the other end of the street and closer to the invaders, the Garos obeyed their masters orders by catching as many people as they could. There were enough arrows to take them all down should they not have acted quickly enough. But they were thinking, and the closest thing was a caravan. They chucked the few people they could gather within the short seconds they had into through the front into where the rest of the supplies was. The horses were not in the way because they all lay dead on the bright marble road. There were only a dozen people, but once this second volley was finished, they'd advance towards the enemy, and obey their second order; fight them off.

OOC: Alright, time for stats of my own.

There are a number possible enemies to defeat that only I know. As far as your characters are concerned, there are countless. All of them are grunts. They are all creatures like moblins, stalfos, lizalfos, darknuts, and the like. Not brainless monsters who can't carry weapons. Only those who can be humanoid. All their stats are exactly as grunts are.

STR: 3
DEF: 3
AGI: 2
INT: 1
SPI: 1
SPL: 0
HP: 10 (not too high. Struggling with a single enemy while dozens could be facing you all at once would be hopelessly impossible)

IC: Kasei's Elemental Burst was the element of Water, and the attack hit home. The splashes gushed into a moblin's eyes, causing him to fall to the ground. It would make him blind should he even be fortunate enough to survive it, so he was beyond worry now.

The moblins saw him coming, and attacked. The Rebel Flame parried the attacks that came at him from all sides, but the struggle was much. (OOC: Dodge check failed. You took damage).

The swordsmen creatures who still had no opponent ordered to attack yet stared wide eyed at an approaching Goron, a flail dangling from his side, whose eyes met one in particular, and made his move. Shigure swung his weapon, but his enemies cowered away so not to be hurt (Miss), and it smothered the white road where they had just been standing. Some fought back fear and returned the attack. Others, the more cowardly ones, stayed back, waiting for their allies to finish this monster off. Three moblins made their move. They thrust their weapons forward, at the mad thing in front of them. The first that struck made Shigure holler in agony, but he smothered the others under the weight of his ball and chain (OOC: You didn't kill any officially, but Shigure seems to both have the heart and be in the mood to take a few extras with him).

Far away from where Shigure and Kasei now stood, and as the Garos passed them by to save those far away, the knight grinned at Orpheous' enthusiasm. "Then you are who they say you are." They charged, keeping his shield above his head and Orpheous'. The knight didn't yet draw his sword. He would wait until they were within range of fighting hand to hand.

Orpheous thought rapidly, every connection and reason for logic passed through his mind, staying with one thought no longer than it would take him to conclude that it was impossible. Well, they were commanded, and not raiding like when the Hero saved Hyrule. They were organized. But why? And why didn't the watchman catch them as they passed in? There were more questions than answers. (Insight check failed). And the cloaked man and the magician (OOC: Damn, you succeeded, but your suspicions will determine what happens next for you. I'll just say you failed. Sorry). There was no telling. The magician seemed to be gathering a spell. He began summoning it when the moblins entered the city. Perhaps he would use the spell against them for defense for the city. Or perhaps that was the cover-up while he summoned the spell and used it against the castle itself! Who knew? And what of the cloaked man? He couldn't be seen, but he did seem quite suspicious when he was visible. He had that thing under his cloak. What was it? It could be anything; a good luck charm, a dagger, a stone of some sort of dark sorcery to see his master's commands... who knew? The only way to find out was to confront him, and that was risky. He couldn't. He had to stick with this knight and help defend the gate. (Awareness Check failed). And the design of the armour on the creatures... what was it...?

"Oi! Keep your head under the shield! Want yourself dead from curiosity about what they look like, boy?" The knight's voice smothered Orpheous' train of thought, and he forced his head under the shield again (insight check failed).

"ASHVA INBADUR!!" echoed the voice of the magician, accented more than the rest of his other magician language, waving the staff more violently, concentrating on his target. But the attack did not unleash. Orpheous and the knight continued their charge without an attack from behind... yet... (Dodge check failed anyway. Lucky you...)

Then Orpheous saw his friends. Simon and Silna came to his side. The knight growled as the scribe chattered with his friends. It wasn't safe to run on with a wavering shield with a conversation going on. He stuck his shield down to the ground, hiding Silna, Orpheous, and him, while they conversed. He waited as patiently as he could. He needed them to be done talking first, though; if he interrupted and sent the girl on her way, she would be killed. He needed them to finish, and fast, in order to reach the enemy. After the lovers exchanged the kiss, and the girl began looking around as Orpheous did, the knight grunted. "We have to hurry. They know we're charging, since everyone else is back there. See them? Emerging from the crowd. That is our help. What use are we if we're among them, watching to make sure we don't accidentally kill them when they're beside us, huh? Hurry on, lady!" Simon had hurried to the alley where the cloaked man was.

She saw nothing more than what Orpheous saw, and though she was prepared nothing attacked (Bummer. All the checks failed except the dodge check, which you didn't need).

The cloaked man was hurrying down the alley while the rest of the people suffered outside. His cloak was a wave behind him, and its movement helped Simon follow him easier in this darkness. The the cloaked man stopped, and turned to face Simon at last. "What do you want? You want me dead, you monster! I'm a civilian just like you." Not exactly that convincing. Civilians let themselves be known, and don't make others suspicious. Simon readied himself and attacked.

IC: Simon stabbed forth at the man's stomach. Astonished by the sudden speed of the young apprentice, the sword sliced through his stomach, right through to the other end. He groaned in pain, his body beginning to go numb, being unable to breath from his lung being cut open. But there was a desperation in his eye, as if he had something worth dying for. Perhaps he did. A loved one, perhaps, or the desire to kill this man who thrust this blade into him. It could be anything. But whatever it was, the cloaked man countered, drawing the item under his cloak that he had kept hidden.

A knife, edge down, its tip seeming to desire the taste of blood once again. He brought the weapon down on the enemy's shoulder, while Simon still was taking the moment before drawing his sword out. This causing him to stumble back in pain, holding his bleeding shoulder. Was that knife intended to be used? Or was this man merely defending himself against this attacker?

Yards away at the frontline, Aiden cast the Shiekan spell Shadowmeld. She focused hard, on it, as if it was the only thing that existed. The arrows faded away from her consciousness, and she could think of naught but this action, this spell. Then the air ripped. The arrows came down, down on her... or at least, where she was. The Shiekah had vanished before their eyes, and the arrows struck uselessly against the marble floor. (Innate successful).

Now, there were three battles. The knight with Orpheous charging forth, the frontline where Shigure and Kasei fought, and Simon facing his enemy to the death. And all the while, the magician was summoning his spell...

OOC: Lol, I actually expected you to use the bard spell Will of Farore, Brizzy. But whatever, a spell is a spell, as long as it succeeds. You live.

OOC: That, my friend is called God-modding. :)
I don't expect you to know the rules just yet. Although you claim to know the rules quite well, its expected for there to be a little error.
Royal Guard wrote:God-modding occurs whenever someone dictates or insinuates the action or response of a person, place, thing, or idea that they themselves did not create and introduce into the world of HA2, unless the RPer has been granted clear permission by the creator to control it.
What if I didn't want Shigure to cry out in agony? I'm not upset, or anything, I just thought I'd clear this up for you. Its not included in the Rules Set, so its expected of newbies here. All you have to do is narrate the attack happening, and the members will type how their character reacts themselves. Thanks. Oh, and he isn't wielding a flail, he's wielding Two Ball&Chains.

Edit: Oh, and one more thing:
NPC Dungeon Master wrote:(OOC: You didn't kill any officially, but Shigure seems to both have the heart and be in the mood to take a few extras with him).
Thats called an RP bonus! When a GM(thats you in this even) feels that its fitting to the post or situation, the GM has the ability to fudge the roll (but only by a maximum of 3). Typically, this is used when someone makes an outstanding post. I'll take whatever you game me though.
IC:

Shigure felt the sting of the attack- but it was nothing compared to some of the wounds he'd received in the Great War. Unflinching, he bellowed in sorrow for Malevont, and anger for his enemies. Bursting with rage, Shigure swung his weapons around in the air to gain speed and force. When they reached the peak of their power, he brought them down with crushing force on a Moblin nearby. Moblins, he knew, were among the strongest and most feared monsters in the land, and would be a large problem for someone else later if he didn't deal with it now.

Before impact, he kept himself prepared to dodge an incoming enemy attack. They were all over the place, and anything could attack from anywhere, at any moment. With his rock-hard hide, he only had to keep a close defense on his front, and his sides. Even those were layered under hardened skin which would be hard to penetrate. A colossus on the battle field, and feared opponent, Shigure stood ready for anything. [Dodge Check]

Kuro let out a short scream as Simon flashed a quick greeting. "Oh, It's just you," he said with a sigh. He quickly recomposed himself and stood up from his hiding spot behind the barrels. He stood up in a perfect battle stance. Or, what he considered what he thought was a perfect battle stance. As he looked around, he caught sight of the monsters. He gripped his sword firmly, and ran towards a group of monsters nearby. As he ran, he was filled with vigor and rage. Why were they killing innocent civilians? He wouldn't stand for it. These monsters were going to die.

As he got closer to the monsters, he targeted one in particular; a lizolfos. He brought his sword behind his body with the blade pointing down. As he drew closer, he raised the sword in a high arc over his body. With a determined look on his face, he brought the blade down with crushing force. He was going to stop them without doubt. OOC: I believe we should go easy on the guy. He's still new, and he got many things incorrect in that gargantuan post of his. Of course, my error was the fact that I cast a fire scroll spell, and not elemental burst. Oh well.

As for the Seven Stars; the first person to tell him correctly gets 50 rupese.

IC: Kasei was quite shocked when his fire attack reverted into a wave. Errr . . . that wasn't supposed to happen. He thought, and began focusing on the oncoming Moblins. Already, his weapon was out, and he began blocking against the onslaught. The shiekah was faring well, until one of the pigish bastards decided to get in a cheep move on his back, slicing it almost clean open.

"Screw this." He said, and whirled around, and, instead of deciding to simply slice the sneaky moblin through, he raised his fist, and decided to deliver a blow that could crumble stones, right into the monsters face. Unarmed Combat

He backed up and then ran at full speed over it clearing a 6 foot jump that contained 2 backflips and a spin to a landing. Then he jumped down and heard a yell of some sort.

Then he seen Kuro, Kasei, Orpheus and some other people kin never seen. Kin ran to ask what happening[Insight check]. He pulled out his staff and weilded it like a sword in his made up battle stance [Dodge check]. Then Kin looked around to see his foes [Awareness check].Kin looked at Orpheus and said " What happened?"

OOC: . Sorry it is short, I'll add more in my next post. I hope my checks don't bounce.
