They say that he hailed from Southern Hyrule, and was a prominent figure in Mido Town's guilds. A man of mystery, not even his fellow leaders of the Apostles were ever sure what he was planning. His role in this story is one of shadowy designs and even darker secrets.

<center>~ The Origins of Myst Wolfeye ~</center>
Myst Wolfeye was never reared by his birth parents. As a young boy, he had been abandoned in the woods of Hyrule’s neighbour country, Byrna. It is unknown if he had been born in the realm of Hyrule, but when he was only ten he arrived in the land of legend with the couple who had found him. Byrna’s Arbora Forest was home to several factions of thieves; it is assumed that the Sheikah had been reared by these factions of crooked rogues.

At the age of nine, a human couple found him unconscious and bloody in the forest and nursed him to health. He had suffered great blunt trauma to the head and remembered very little of his youth. He was brought to the peaceful country of Hyrule when war broke out in Byrna against the new ruling monarchy of Calatia. The family originally settled in Rauru Town, but eventually migrated Southeast to Mido where Myst grew into adulthood.

He befriended two members of a guild called the Mido Saviours Club. They were, in those parts of Hyrule, known only as Beatrice “Viper’s Tooth” Lorren and “Jolly Joseph.” After a few years spent as a rookie in the guild, Myst, now twenty-five, became the godfather of Beatrice and Joseph’s first-born son. The Sheikah was present for the wedding and even served as a best man. In the coming months afterwards, bad tidings fell upon the Mido Saviours Club.

One cold night, a knock was heard at the door of Beatrice and Joseph. Myst, who had been living with the wedded couple for quite some time, could sense a terrible presence on the other side. He requested that he be the one to open the door. A strange, hunch-backed figure in a dark black cloak appeared before him. Although the creature spoke in mostly infernal, the Sheikah could make out a few words in ancient Hylian. Upon hearing the words “Ganon” and “the boy,” the guardian knew that something horrible was amiss.

What followed was a short battle between two powerful wizards. The cloaked being was decidedly a dark messenger of the King of Evil, and Myst eventually slew the terrible thing. In doing so, a magnificent curse was placed upon his entire being.

Myst grew ill, and was forced to sit at home as his fellow guild members took on an excursion to the North to clear Parapa Palace of its many infestations and reclaim the once inspiring work of Hylian architecture and holiness. On the voyage, Joseph and Beatrice were slain and Myst became the sole parental figure in their son’s life. He decided one day to take the boy to his homeland of Byrna, where he had originally hailed from. There had not been word of war in that land in many years, and Myst saw it as the perfect place to raise the child of his fallen friends.

Upon arrival in the ancient kingdom, the mage was ambushed by a group of oddly colored Moblins. He had heard of the Mid-Daos in the past, but was unaware that they ever mobilized outside of their country of origin: Calatia. Myst was left for dead, and the boy was taken.

The Sheikah nursed himself to health in the following winter months. When he was able, he returned to Mido Town, where he lived alone for a year, planning a great expedition to Calatia, where he assumed the boy had been taken. The curse that Ganon’s warlord Rikken Mar had placed on him nearly two years prior had grown worse, and by the time he had made preparations for his journey he found himself at the doorstep of his doom.

From that point on, his condition never worsened, however he was not thankful for this. Day in, day out, he was a shell of a man. Dead on the inside, he was slowly decaying on the outside. A year into his search, he was forced to retire. He spent many years perfecting new abilities and faded into obscurity, reappearing approximately eighteen years later in Calatia. It has never been revealed what Myst went through in nearly two decades of seclusion. It was then that a very mystical meeting took place, and Myst would start what would at that time be the organization covertly (and tentatively) labelled “Soldiers of the Carock Revolution.”

Now, let me tell you about Solstrem Maverick. A good man he was, as far as I've been told. He was one of those sorts that always seems a hundred times smarter and wiser than everyone else he associated with, but he was so down to earth and casual with his life. It was a real treat to ever meet him. His role in this tale is one of great importance, as you'll soon find out.
