Few things quell the soul's worries like the sound of water under perfect weather; this was especially true for the lone samurai who sat calmly at the water's edge. The ocean always beckoned him somehow to its roaring coasts. The samurai sat happily on the sand, the wind freely blowing through his hair. The gulls squealing overhead added to the overall ambiance of the beach, and the air smelled sweet with the blooming flowers on the island not far from the shore. Dogura stared up into the deep blue sky, a smile on his face- but it quickly turned to concern.
Above, clouds moved over the sun, and turned the sky quickly to grey. The clouds formed three angry faces, each unmistakable: The Goddesses themselves. Lightning billowed within the clouds, and the wind quickly picked up in pace. The waves began beating the shore, rather than calmly rolling in. Dogura stood up in panic of the quickly changing weather, but couldn't take his eyes off the Goddesses in the clouds. Their eyes held a deep accusation, and a fire that he never knew. Rain suddenly began pouring down on the man, a monsoon of divine rage wrapping around him.
Suddenly, their faces disappeared from the sky, the dark storm-clouds rolling over their features. The samurai felt as if he wanted to run, but felt almost trapped under the weight of the sky. Without warning, the sands around him began to rise, three figures becoming more distinguished. The Goddesses, all made of sand, surrounded him. Their eyes were filled with anger, and regret, as they rose their fists into the air. Not hesitating, they brought their mighty fists down upon the man, striking him down with the sound of mighty thunder...
Dogura suddenly awoke, his eyes opening to see a stone tile ceiling. He attempted to sit up, but a great pain rocked his nerves, sending him right back to a lying position. He suddenly remembered all that had happened, and with those memories came the memory of how he'd been defeated. A sword strike to the chest- the pain he was feeling was likely related. He'd also drained his magic reserves in the process; he knew he was lucky to be alive at the moment. He turned hie head to survey his surroundings. He was in a stone room with a small side-desk near the wooden door, a stool underneath it. The desk had a lamp on it, along with a piece of parchment, and an ink well. He turned to look the other way, and found only a chest on the other side of the room- likely his belongings. Dogura turned his vision back towards the ceiling, and heaved a heavy sigh.
The door suddenly creaked open, and the samurai's attention was drawn to a cloaked figure entering the room. Whoever it was, they hadn't noticed that the samurai was awake yet, as they slowly closed the door behind them. The figure turned around, and to Dogura's surprise, it was Shiro. The man also looked surprised to see the man awake. "Dogura! You've awakened!" He exclaimed. The samurai responded with a weak groan, "Shiro... How long have I been out?" The reaper put down his hood, and advanced towards the bed that his ally was recovering on. "You've been down for about two days. We were all worried about you- the clerics did all that they could, and declared that the rest of the recovery process was up to your will to live."
Dogura closed his eyes, "Is that right..." He looked back at the ceiling. "What has become of Doku... Did Ganon have to resurrect him, or did he pull through on his own?" Shiro turned his eyes downward, a somber silence filling the room. Dogura turned to Shiro, expectant of an answer. Finally Shiro pulled the stood out from underneath the desk, and sat down on it. "Dogura... Doku was hit with a blessed weapon; a weapon that seals the enemy's soul within its blade. Doku is doomed to eternity in the abyss... I'm sorry." Dogura's eyes widened in surprise. He turned to the ceiling and clenched his teeth and fists. "Those... Those bastards... They'll pay for it, I swear on Doku's soul, they will." Shiro lifted his hands, "Now, now, this isn't the time for revenge. You need to recover first. Besides, you aren't allowed to act outside of your orders."
Dogura knew this well- Ganon hadn't taken kindly to his strolls outside of his parameters. "But," Shiro continued, "Aggronocke, he Blood-red High-priest is working on a way to free Doku from his imprisonment. We have the sword that sealed him in our possession. They're looking for a way to reverse the effect, but Aggronocke was clear that it was a slim chance." Dogura exhaled deeply, hope restored. The samurai closed his eyes, thinking carefully. "Doku knows something important." He finally stated. Shiro looked up, a puzzled look on his face, "What makes you say that?"
"Well," Dogura started, "The assailants attacked me near my home. Doku showed up in the nick of time to aid me in the fight." Shiro nodded, suddenly understanding. Dogura continued anyway. "Doku was traveling to my house at the time of the attack. He isn't the kind to just pop in for visits, nor is he the one to meet without an appointment... He's just that type of guy. If he left his home with no prior planning, and made a pilgrimage to my house, then he must have had some kind of information that he found important." Shiro sat up from his hunched position, and rubbed his chin. "That's a good point... Let's just hope Aggronocke succeeds in pulling Doku out of that sword."
"Mh." The samurai responded. "What of my wife and child?"
Shiro folded his arms. "Your wife is awaiting your return back at your house. I've checked on her daily. No word from your son since he departed for Death Mountain." Dogura felt his heart sink.
Katsuro... You'd better not die on me...
