.:.In The Beginning.:.
Bahmini Nahimana Dahy was born late one night- Quite the disturbance to such an orderly family of four, now five. Khayman and Elaina Dahy were loyal servants to the royal family of Hyrule, and of course, they expected nothing less from their Shiekah children. Zane, the eldest of the children was quite the fighter. Bella, the middle child was learning well from her older brother. So when the third child was born, it was assumed that she would follow in the rest of the family's footsteps.
Elaina had chosen the name Bhamini for her baby girl, for she knew it meant "beautiful lady". Alas, it wasn't until years later that Elaina found out the full meaning of the name from a local scholar. The scholar only chuckled and shook his head, for the name was so fitting for the child.
"Bahmini - beautiful, short tempered lady"
The father, Khayman chose the child's middle name, Nahimana, meaning mystic. The name arose in his head the instant he saw Bahmini's eyes- a startling shade of violet that seemed to glow with their own mystical light. The family name, Dahy meant quick and agile- characteristics inherited through the Dahy line just as the Shiekah blood that flowed through their veins.
The Dahy family had been based on tradition for generations. Each child followed the path of his predecessor, and in turn had a child to carry out the family name. The traditions of the family had been based on one concept: discipline. Bahmini was never fond of the family tradition.
"But Ahmi," her father would say "Discipline is what has held this family together for generations. It is the foundation that has kept life stable and unchanging for us."
Ahmi, age eight at the time would only reply "Well, maybe it's time for change."
Bahmini never cared for her name much. She had always insisted on being called by her childhood nickname, Ahmi. Her mother would always argue that Bahmni was such a beautiful name. Bahmini just retorted, "To waste so much breath on one name is unheard of."
It wasn't that Ahmi didn't love her parents, and not necissarily that she didn't respect them. She was thankful to have them around, and she respected their since of honor. Bahmini was just never the type to yield to authority, and the thought of her every step in life being layed out for her by her parents was ridiculous. She didn't want to be like them. She could never see herself growing up, getting married and having children, only to have them lead the same life that her ancestors had lead for generations before. So yes, in a way, Ahmi didn't fully respect Khayman or Elaina. They were sheep in her eyes. Sheep with kind hearts and, yes, a sense of honor, but sheep nonetheless. In a way, she even begrudged her parents for turning her brother and sister into sheep as well. She looked into her sister's eyes, the eyes that were so much like her own, and she saw nothing. No fire, no ambition to be different- just like her mother, and her mother's mother, and all those that came before. No, Ahmi didn't want to serve beneath anyone. She did not want to be a protector or an advisor like so many others in her family. She wanted adventure. She wanted to lead a life of based on whim and instincts, rather than tradition and strict discipline. Most of all she just wanted to live... So when Bahmini was sixteen she left home, unsure of where she was going, or exactly what it was she intended to do.
For the past year, Ahmi has considered herself a nomad. Taking what she can and doing as she pleases, she travels from place to place searching for something more...
