He's moving swiftly towards our area. Everyone is getting calls telling them that we're getting out of school early on Friday. They're even starting to do emergency mandatory evacuations. The grocery stores are INSANE. People are rushing out and buying everything. Its so crazy... I never thought we'd be evacuees.
EVACUATION BUDDIES! -highfive-
We have a mandatory evacuation here, too, but then again, we're 8 miles NORTH of where it's supposed to hit. Being on the north side of the storm is horrible, and being that close.... :B
*high-five*
Apparently, we're right in the way of the eye of the storm O_O
Now, they're thinking about letting out on Thursday instead.
It WAS going to hit us here in Florida. But then Jesus waited till we were all excited, sat down in his boxers, and started laughing his butt off as he slowly guided it towards you guys.
Ike was supposed to hit 8 miles south of us but now it's hitting Houston. HAHA. LOLOLOLOL.
That being said, we have barrier islands to save us a little bit of the force of the hurricane so.
Good luck you two.
To be a bit selfish, Hurricane Hanna was not as bad as I would have thought. I think it was a technically a tropical storm when it hit us. And I think I slept through it. So it must not have been bad. I am disappointed.
I'm evacuating to San Antonio in about 15-20 minutes. Not sure why we're heading TOWARDS the storm, but.... apparently we were going to go to San Antonio this weekend anyway, so.
I brought the stuffed Hyena my friend bought me for my birthday and the Silent Hill game- the rest of what I packed is essentially neccesities or anti-boredom things. (toothbrush, clothes, DS, etc.)
See you guys next weekend, if I'm not grounded. <3
Don't forget to fight for your friends.
It's what Ike would want.

Amen, brother. Amen. :P
I doubt you're close to the shore, though, so you guys probably don't have to worry too much about the storm surge. Still, just keep safe, got it?
Look what the hurricane brought (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dg-yVUN7xGE)
I think that's going to end up on the Daily Show next Monday.
It's to funny not to.
Here's hoping that Zelda Veteran and Fisk are ok though.
It was supposed to hit Friday at 7-8 but it never did. I doubt its even gonna hit us anymore. All that hype for nothing.
Did it hit to your north?

Isn't Stephen Colbert the one with the thing against bears?
Yeah, but Stephen Colbert is the anchor on the Colbert Report.
Jon Stewart is the anchor for the Daily Show.
Yeah, I know that. I'm asking wouldn't Colbert be the one to use that news clip on his show? Colbert is the one with a thing against bears, right?
Although Stephen Colbert might show it for his Threatdown...Hurricane Ike as the number one threat because it brings bears along with it.
Well, we people in Michigan had a two-day spell of rain (probably because of Ike), and our basement flooded. Most of the stuff my mom and I kept down there was soaked, including our library of VHSs, and we had to clean all of it up. Worst of all...it was sewer water... Apparently, the sewers were clogged during the rain, and...one thing led to another.
As a word of moving advice, always keep your belongings in plastic containers, not cardboard boxes. :(
I heard Ike caused a couple hundred million in damages :/
You'll get no sympathy from Ike.

Went through the exact same thing in July during that 6-7 inch rain deal, if you remember.
If you act fast, you can probably keep from having to remove your carpet.

I love you. In the least gay way I can think of. :P
Anyway, we don't keep carpet down in the basement, so we don't have to worry about that as much.
I like how we did not get a single drop of rain or hurricane force winds, but people up in Michigan and Ohio, hundreds of miles away from the initial blast, got hammered by him.
And, Mags, I am actually directly next to the water- within 5 minutes, actually- and the storm surge could've done some damage to us. It didn't, though, it was about 2-3 feet at the very most.
Well, most of the damage is done on the side of the eye wall that's ahead of the storm, I believe. Since you say you didn't experience much wind and rain, it seems likely to me that it steered away from you and limited the storm surge's height.
Nice to see you back, though! ;)
