Theories / Re: OoT and SS connections

And also considering that the only sheikah we have an example of is essentially freakishly loyal to Zelda. I think we'd all agree Impa would risk her life for the Royal Family. Of course that's not definite proof, she could just be an exception and the Sheikah in general were traitorous, but it seems unlikely.

Also, considering the Shadow Temple, I think there are a mix of reasons why it is so hellish. One, I think its a game element, not a story element. It's the shadow temple. They need it to be evil. They weren't actually designing it as a place for worship, they were designing it as a level for the game, so that needs to be considered (aka, what exactly "canon" means. Second, it exists in Gannondorfs perverted version of Hyrule, so it could have become considerably more evil under his reign. Thirdly, even if it does seem "hellish" and "shadowy" that same thing applies to most chthonic religions. That doesn't mean they're necessarily evil, just different than the culture of the current world's predominant monotheistic religions. So don't necessarily let that bias you.

On the other hand, I can't prove that they Sheikah WERENT traitors, they very well could be. I'm just saying that you shouldn't at all make that assumption based off the canon.

Do you have an image of that Shadow Temple reading? I've never heard of that before... I never really liked the Shadow Temple (exempting Bongo-Bongo of course. Duh.)

I've always wanted to get my hands on a fire emblem GBA ROM parser.... People are very protective of the ones that they write. Which doesn't seem to be the case in the Pokemon ROM hacking community, interestingly enough.

And then of course we're going to have some explanation of what happened to the Sheikah. At least I certainly hope so. There were some hints about what happened to the Hidden Village, but no actual Sheikah showed up in Twilight Princess. But since SS is before OoT and it looks like there are Sheikah symbols in the trailer.... I want some closure on that!

Yeah, ZC has hardly released any meaningful updates at all.... And all the UI's are still god awful, so I seriously doubt they've released a parser.

On the other hand, you could probably just find one hanging around the web, but not for use with ZC.

8 (Excellent) / 10

I have to say, I do like this sig QUITE a lot. It's difficult to tell exactly what elements constitute it, which is a good thing.

At the very least, the blending is incredibly well done. The shift from background to foreground is impeccable, excellent blurring and sharpening. There seems to be a bit of a lack of quality on the main stock, but that graininess may have come from sharpening? I can't really tell. Somehow, it actually adds MORE to the sig, because it makes the stock come that much more into the foreground.

Now, if the background is all a part of one single stock image, combined with D.J. himself, then the blur and blend is well done, but the sig would only merit a 7/10. Techincally it's just not that demanding. But if separate renders were used, and then wrought into a perfectly seamless background, that would definitely earn the 8 rating. Quite well done. I just can't tell.

The color balance is also rather nice. The blue and orange/yellow effect is just the right mix of warm and cool. I like the palette overall.

So there's really not much for me to criticize. At the utmost nitpickiest I'd say I'd like some text. There's also two places where the blur seems just a little off: on the candle flame and on the column just left of the head. I just don't have much more to say besides I like it!

This hasn't been done, yet? I don't know if it has or not, but I thought it'd be good to start one up.

Sooooo, I go first I guess. Erm 10/10 cause only the TDC itself is before me, and its never a good idea to anger the site... or the server. More importantly.

In the Comic Con trailer, did anyone notice the guy wearing all red with MASSIVE eyebrows. Is this Kaepora Gaebora??? Remember he's supposed to the reincarnation of the ancient sage, so maybe we actually meet the ancient sage? Plus his owlness would tie in with the whole skyloft theme.

Of course maybe this is just another case of "coming up with something" on the spot, not ahead of time, but this would suggest some pretty groundbreaking revelations referring to OoT. Anyone have an opinion on it?

HOLY I SPY WIZ MY LITTLE EYE! THIS IS HARD..... and I thought I was proud after beating LoZ I.....

MEDIT: As fitting as that word is to the game's difficulty, it's not allowed. Unfortunately, this is grounds for a warning.

Does anyone here do any work in ZQuest? I know that Tayro did, and he designed all the maps for HA2, but it'd be neat to see who else does at TDC. If any one is willing to collab on some maps, I'd definitely be into it.

Just a few of my own works:

So AoL is now the only Zelda game I haven't beaten. I was just wondering, is it actually worth playing? I've heard it's kind of an.... embarrassment (?) to the Zelda name...
