It was a random drawing.

It came in last week. :D

Here's a picture showcasing the U.K. cover.

I also just got a Barnes and Noble gift card for my birthday; I'll definitely be getting Hyrule Historia with it.  Probably get Laura Anne Gilman's Tricks of the Trade as well, since the library seems to have a problem with skipping over books in a series.

Whose face? Katie's or Tharja's?  Both?

Meanwhile, if you haven't seen it on Facebook, or you don't have Facebook:

I have this weird and morbid fascination with taking pictures of roadkill in odd poses and captioning them.  Here's some more:

Wow, a contest? Dang, that's awesome. Was it a drawing or one of those letter-type contests?

So I was at my local card shop today, and found a what looked like a gameboy color game, but it was burnt to high hell. The whole thing is burned, and somehow still works. Mike (the manager) had it priced at 25 cents. I asked him about it, and he said he didn't know what game it was. Some guy came in, and put the game on the counter. Apparently, Mike said he wasn't gonna take the game, but the guy said Mike could HAVE it. He didn't want it. He said the game was nothing but trouble.

I laughed, and said, "Obviously... It's burnt! How does he expect it to work?" Mike told me it really worked! He told me to keep my quarter and told me I could have it. He just had to put a price on it for store reasons or something. So yeah, I took it and threw it in my GBA SP. It took a couple of tries, and some blowing on the cartridge, but it finally fired up. It's Pokemon Red version! I can't believe this thing still works! I'll put a picture of it up as soon as I can. My phone's camera is malfunctioning every time I try to take a picture. The application freezes, and it takes me back to the home screen. I need a new phone soon =P

Anyways, yeah, the guy was in the beginning of the game, and somehow has Lv. 0 Charmander with 0 HP and 0 for all of its stats. It's pretty creepy, like it has no life XD

I think he tried hacking the game, and got pissed at it for not working like he wanted. I haven't gotten a chance to play it, but I'll start a new game tomorrow and try like a Nuzlocke or something. My luck is turning up ^^
To share my own video game purchase story, last Sunday I went in to Cool Stuff, a used video game store (that also sells used CDs, DVDs, and some other related stuff), to trade in Fire Emblem 7 and Sword of Mana.  I was expecting to get the sort of deal I would at GameStop, a Game Boy game that would cost around one to two dollars.  Instead, I got 15 credit with the store, which meant I could get $15 worth of games.  I ended up getting Final Fantasy Adventure (GB, $2), The Final Fantasy Legend (GB, $7), Picross 3D (DS, $5), and The Chessmaster (GB, $1).  All three Game Boy games are still in excellent working condition.

My week got better yesterday.  The week before, I had entered a contest to win a signed book from Jim C. Hines (an excellent author; I highly suggest you check out his books, especially the Princess series).  I won!  I'll be getting a signed U.K. edition of Libriomancer, the first book in his Magic ex Libris series.  I was bouncing around for a good half hour after getting the e-mail.

Holy moley I'm living the beginning of a creepy pasta ;)
So I started a new file today, but no matter which pokemon I choose in the beginning, I end up with a Lv.5 Charmander with 0 life. It doesn't die in battle... It just gets hit, and makes the fainting noise, but remains on the battlefield. It's like cheating. I had work today, but I didn't get far. There's a chandler on route 1, and when I talk to her, she just makes a pokemon noise. I think I might have actually stumbled upon a creepy pasta pokemon game ;D
