I have a bit of a stupid problem...

Weeks ago, I co-developed a game project for my game design class, and lately, the team's expressing interest in submitting it for Unity Awards 2012 or something. Note that this is also the project that, in one fell swoop, killed any and all pride I've had for it after I got my peer reviews. I've strongly considered just taking my name off the credits, and I actually did do so on the submission form, but...should I really do that?

Honestly, this is just some passive-aggressive way of my pessimistically saying, "Sorry I was ever on the team," so I know you'll probably say I shouldn't, but at the same time, it doesn't do me any emotional good being reminded that I spent so much work on this project and possibly sacrificed a good deal of my GPA to work on it, only to find out that I was essentially the LVP in the end.

I thought I was LVP simply because the rest of my team did so well. I, on the other hand, did not, apparently...

When you get your peer reviews, you also get an aggregate score and a ranking compared to the other students in the class. Turns out my ranking put me in the 34-percentile. That is horrid. That, coupled with what they said (which really wasn't that bad; in fact, one could consider it to be a somewhat-positive review), put me in such a rut that I completely withdrew from the summer project I was going to work on--the project, by the way, that I replaced with the one you, Alpha, Tayro, and I are working on now.

Again, my team didn't say I was bad, but I sure felt like a failure, especially after all the hard work I put into it...

Mags, the work you've done for our project alone has been fantastic. I'm so impressed with your skill, I'd have no other programmer working on the site than you. You've done an amazing job so far, and I can't wait to see what the future holds. Impressive as you are, I find it hard to believe that you were the LVP of anything. Keep in mind that you're amazing, and don't let others get you down.

Einstein flunked out of school, and Micheal Jordan was cut from his highschool basketball team, and was told he'd never be anything more than sub-par by his coach.

You're talented for your age, moreso than I. It's important that you keep believing in yourself, and don't ever let your confidence die out because someone else is more skilled than you. If anything you should continue working with these people to ascend to their level (if you truly believe you're inferior). When I joined HA2, my writing skills were crap. Instead of quitting because everyone was better than me, I worked with those people and became better. I very much like where my writing skill is at right now, and I have HA2 and the people that participated to thank for it.

Continue to get better by being around those who are better than you.

And then surpass them ^^

Thanks, ZV. Believe it or not, that helped a lot (and it drove me to upgrade one of the features XD ). Yeah, I may still be a bit sore about what happened, but I'm glad that you guys are here to help me out, too! So thanks, man. :'D

...On that note, anyone wanna try the game out? I was actually going to post it and show it off to you guys and see what you thought, but that was before my morale was crushed to the point where I didn't bother. But now that it's here, you might as well try it out, eh? Haha.
