8/10 cats?

where did they come from??? Hyrule has always had the Cuccoos and has had dogs since Ocarina, but Twilight Princess is the only game I can think of that had cats?? So where were they before? Did they come from another land or were they just very good hiders up until now?

The Old Hag (the one in the potion shop) had a cat, I believe.

hehe. Its rare I go there to be honest. I rarely bother with the Biggoron's Sword (if its whilst you're an adult) and I never realy bother with potions. I always capture fairies as a standby because I forget to drink potions or milk, I don't need to remember with fairies :)

As por moi, here's my two cents.  Cats are evil's bane.  Of course there were going to be more cats in TP than any other game-- because TP wasn't necessarily evil, just dark.  It was less about right and wrong and more about an imbalance of evil.  If you were to make a chart, you'd see that as the amount of evil in Zelda games decreased, the amount of cats increased.  This is clear and conclusive, much like the famous pirates vs. global warming graph.

It's totally elementary.

And before you say my post was frivolous, read more Egyptology.

I think your post was very good.. way too clever for me to doubt. I think its just something new, I mean you don't get hawks in all of the others either, Hyrule would get pretty boring pretty quickly if you didn't get new animals or enemies.

There were a few cats in The Minish Cap.  They would bat at you if you were Minish size.

ahhhh, interesting. At the end of the day, maybe there wasn't many people had cats during Ocarina...hence we didn't see any
