Ok ok ok, as an extremely devoted Ratchet and Clank fan, I can say that the Laser Sword(Which it is called in the game to escape copyright issues I bet) make absolutely no difference in gameplay whatsoever.  You just add another touch of sci-fi to the game.  It has the same reach contrary to popular belief, it does the same damage, it just looks better.  I'll go look for the code and modify this with the code in here in a bit.
