Now why would anyone want to be a lunch meat?  They're only going to get eaten.  When I asked my cousin this, he said that it's a metaphor (I'm paraphrasing him, by the way) for how people want to be popular.  But then they learn that popularity isn't all that when they get eaten.  Wise words.  I often listen to his advice.
