It could be a Hylian breed of a clydesdale, because Epona is definatley fast.

True. She doesn't really look that fast, though, because when you dash, the screen goes all weird and Epona looks to one side and... I dunno. But it disorients me, personally. xD

Commodore Axilon

I don't think she's big enough to be a Clydesdale, going by Link's height in OoT. The diving pool in the house by Lake Hylia gives him a height of 1.6 meters, or 5 feet and 3 inches. Hylians are pretty short apparently. ;D

She's more likely based off the horses knights used to use, which Clydesdales are descended from btw.

Fishalicious

In Ocarina of Time, she was a warhorse. xD In TP, she got a lot bigger, and being a Clydesdale really kinda fits, in the beggining, we see her carrying a bunch of stuff, and Clydesdales were used as carthorses a lot in the middle ages. Well, they're still used as carthorses today, but moreso in the old days. o:

DW

it's not like they haven't made their own kinds of our familiar animals before, like Cuccoos from chickens.

Yeah, yeah, I guess you're right. I was going to say something about how the anatomy of a horse that size would make running fast difficult, but... then I realized that if it is a seperate Hylian Clydesdale or something, then it's okay. xD After all, you wear a tunic and then you're able to walk on lava, and the tunic did nothing to your boots.

Commodore Axilon

 :-[

I'm sure they don't breed horses with teh magiks.

Fishalicious

I believe that in Zelda games, anything is possible. >>

Bboy94

You can walk on lava? When, I only remember walking on lava in Snowpeak as a Goron.

But, yeah, maybe Epona isn't that fast. But the question is, is a clydesdale faster than a were-wolf and bokoblins?

Fishalicious

#68
Well I wouldn't know for a were-wolf, but a regular timber wolf can go at like.... 30-35 mph. (Yay google!) Clydesdales aren't real fast, maybe 20 mph, and bokoblins... Uh. ... xD If they're humanspeed, then 5 mph just chillin', 21 mph at top speed.

Oh, and your average racehorse can go 30-40. xD

Bboy94

So, Epona must not be a clydesdale. Because Link is slower than her in wolf form.

Bokoblins are more like 10mph at top speed.

Fishalicious

True, true... I was referring more to body type than speed. Clydesdales are gigantic in muscle and size in general, Epona in previous games has always been sleeker and less burly-- like a racehorse or warhorse.

JDog

Well, I finally got the game for the wii, actually, I've had it for quite awhile, just haven't got to playing it cause of basketball and the new baseball season starting up soon, but none the less, I have started a game on it, and I just left it as link and the horse as Eponda, I was to lazy to rename them... lol

alical

On my Second play through I called them link and Epona but I added accents on some of the letters.
I know it would change the pronunciation but it looks awesome.

DW

I don't even know if it WOULD be pronouncable anymore...
