Mysterious F.

Personal tastes differ between people, JQ. I thought Ghost in the Shell was quite boring, actually, and couldn't get into it. On the other hand, I liked Big O (which disproves you saying I don't watch animes below 100 episodes) And Naruto doesn't ahve a save the world formula! The only characters that care at all about the entire world are the Akatsuki, who are trying to take over the world (and the other characters don't know that at all, so they aren't trying to save the world). They are simply fighting because they don't want Akatsuki to kill them, for information, and because Akatsuki has done many bad things to characters (Orochimaru and Sasuke, for example).

I like animes and mangas for what they are, not length. Basically the only point you even give for why you think Naruto sucks is length, and if that's all you can think of then I see no reason to even argue with you about Naruto anymore. One Piece and Naruto have very good plots and several good characters. (More so for Naruto)

Another good long series: Case Closed. It has many plot twists and so many different characters for something that long, you'd have thought that more than one person was writing it. JQ, despite being long, I know you'd love it, because it is a mystery manga, and it requires a developed mind to know what's going on, which fits you very perfectly.

And once again, I say I have watched a short anime before: Big O. I don't know the ending, however. Reveal how it ends, any of you, and I kill you.  >:(

That's not the  only point I made on Naruto. It's also quite bland. The thing is that it doesn't feel real anymore, because it doesn't seem to be anything of worth; it's the same old story where Hero A has missing/dead parents and finds  that he has a 'power' and goes on a quest where there are lots of fights and pointless banter. That type of crap no longer appeals to me.

Ghost in the Shell would appeal mainly to those whom are more mature in how they think about the world. Similar thing for Akira and Nausicaa. Such things are not shonen; they are Seinen

From Wikipedia

QuoteSeinen (青年, Seinen? not to be confused with "adult" (成年, seinen?)) is a subset of manga that is generally targeted at an 18–30 year old male audience, but the audience can be much older with some comics aimed at businessmen well into their 40s. it has a wide variety of art styles and more variation in subject matter

Because Gundam is wierd. Seriously. Giant robots? I personally perfer ninjas. Because wrecking your giant robot isn't as deadly as being killed.

Dude, if you've if you've ever watched Gundam, they're in all out war! It's not if you're mech is destroyed, you lose the fight or whatever! You die! Besides, there's more to it than giant robots, there is alot of drama and junk in it to!

Wars suck. In real life and generally in fiction too. Especially if it is an all out war and not a secret one.

Quoted for the truth.

And yet, almost everyone's tastes seem the same. The shonen market consists of like, 90% of all anime and mangas. Especially of the variety like One Piece and Naruto. So in reality, there isn't much in the way of 'personal' taste, because 90% of people end up having the same taste.

Bboy94

One piece is awful, Naruto is good. End of story.

Happytime Harley

Naruto is waaaaaay overrated. NINJA SKOOL! OMFG!

Erm, try to make your posts a little more... respectable.  I think we all know what that "F" stands for, don't we?

darkphantomime

Eh, whatever. Only when he explicitly spells out the word does it merit  a warning...

Anyway!

Is Naruto even WORTH watching? Hiyao Miyazaki made some EXCELLENT points on the corruption of Japanese anime in this interview, long as it is.

I find that a lot of the people who don't like naruto are the people who lack the patience, and understanding to watch it.

My real Poison team in BW2. They all have perfect natures and EV's. I went the extra distance and bred the right IV's into them. Come at me bro.

darkphantomime

It's not the patience or the understanding. It's tolerance, or lack thereof. One can only take so much anime that shares so many similarities with other anime.

We want stuff that's fresh, new, and above all else, ORIGINAL! We want atmosphere. I beg of you, read that article, if you don't ahve the time to, just read the last part to it, at the very end "Conclusion"

Rev Rabies

when wasnt naruto original?? i dont see any other ninja animes out there
