The thing is, masterkey has the delusion that HM moves are  actually good when usually they're a waste of space for more useful and strategy oriented moves.

Then why not use the HMs on Pokemon that you could care less about and save the good moves for Pokemon that you actually do want to train?

I usually have some HM slaves in reserve during the storyline.  But I usually just fly everywhere.

Fly is actually a pretty good flying attack, it's good strategically for dodging and striking.

Theoritically, but in practice, not really. You'd need to be able to see the future to really get an idea of what they're going to do, though some set-ups are fairly obvious, I'd prefer not to use fly to stop them in their tracks.

Does anyone have major shinies on their teams? I have a shiny Pidgeot (Livia) and a few other shinies in a box... XD;

Yes, in practice, really. If they charge up Solarbeam or any other two-turn attack, you can dodge it and then strike them.

Maybe, but it gets annnoying that you have to wait a while to attack when there are moves of equal or greater power that only take a second, like oh say, Drill Peck. Or Earthquake, in the case of Dig.

Perhaps I'm also too naive to realize you're being a complete a**.

And since  when is a difference in opinin naive? I happen to think HM moves are god, and so do some other people here. So, deal with the difference in opinion.

Strength isn't good because its normal. Dive, there are better water moves. Rock Smash I have found in Diamond, that I was really glad I taught it to Onix, many times. Fly, has such a good overworld effect and its a fairly good move that is the only or best flying move some Pokemon(Charizard for example). I hate Cut and Flash with a vengence. Because you need them at some points in the game, but they suck in battle so you have to use one of your Pokemon slots as an HM slave.

and JQ, surf is a strong water move, yet it is an HM
