Bringing back a random discussion that has been completed is bad, ones that haven't been not so.

But it's really stupid to jump on someone simply because they revive an old topic. I mean, we're not even giving it a chance to a once great topic.

And, as said, the only time necroposting can be looked down upon is if it is a topic that has been completed ans no longer needed. Ones like in the Forum Games section can never completely die, as they games and can be continued forever.

i was on a few other sites before i came here one said no reviving dead topics at all   the other said make sure you say something about the topic, dont just post to spam.. so thats why i never post in a topic unless the last post is from yesterday.. how does reviving topics work here?

You can go back to a certain page of a certain board on the forum and just post in it to revive the topic. But saying anything like "WOW This topic is OLD" is something that would be reprimanded, but I wouldn't do that in most cases if it is an authentic attempt to revive discussion.
