I think diet orange soda is better.

I prefer diet anything over regular.  It has a more crisp taste and it doesn't make your teeth feel like they are going to rot out.

I was actually lying and agree with this.

So, remember that anime convention I was all hyped up over going to?

Well, what happened today may make me change my mind about going altogether.

I mean, why spend that much money going there? Whenever I get in a mood like this the only thing that helps is a good 100 to 200 dollars worth of manga and like... 2 full seasons of anime. If I go to the con I won't be able to afford the basic items required to get me out of this funk.

And, if I do go to the con, what do I have to look forward to? A bunch of otaku cosplaying, my EX-girlfriend cosplaying as a character from Hetalia, a series who's fan-dumb completely amazes me, and hanging out going to boring panels with a guy I'm only marginally best friends with.

*sigh.*

Dude, if you have the opportunity to go to a con, DO IT.

I went to a local one on the 22nd and 23rd. Even though I'm not an anime fanatic like many of the attendees were, there were so many gaming fans and other awesomely-geeky people there and so much fun stuff to do that it was an absolute blast. The vendors' prices were pretty nuts, but I still got me some cool stuff, and I even made some new friends. :D

Overall, DO IT. DO IT. DO IT.
What, you expect me to say something witty?

You always wait til the last day to buy a lot of the stuff, that's when they have the sales to get rid of the leftover stuff.

If I go to a con I'm not going to have the money to buy what I need to stop feeling like crap. So it's a dilemma. The other worst part is my ex, who just broke up with me yesterday, will be there, and I'll have to put up with that torment.

Also, what kind of stuff did the vendors have? It all depends on that, since I need stuff to get out of this funk.

I know I'm buying myself a pair or two of cat-ears, if I can find them, but what else should I probably look forward to seeing?

Waiting until the last day to buy stuff didn't help much. Heck, I waited until the last five minutes they were open on the last day to try to buy things and they didn't reduce their prices all that much. :/

But they had lots of neat stuff -- plushies, shirts, soundtrack CDs, keychains. Little stuff, mostly, but it was a first-year con. I bought some Edward and Alphonse zipper pulls and a phone charm that has Al with a cat on it. :3

Cost me $14 for all that, though. Still, I wanted souvenirs from the con, and besides, how often do I buy neat little overpriced things from Japan like that anyways?
