Someone finally sees my way!

Yes, I do believe OoT was overrated. And I believe TP was better. Why? Because it takes OoT and expands on it.

I have always stood by my argument that OoT is overrated.  Never bothered to hide it, ever.  However, TP was not that much better.

HylianHero92

Yeah, I know. I never said TP was the best, just better.

MagmarFire

I don't say it's overrated, quite possibly because it was my first Zelda game ever and that there's a bunch of magical nostalgia behind it. However, I do wish that it wouldn't be rated to the point where no other game can surpass it, my own ratings included. I'd love for more Zelda games that surpass that nostalgia, but people seem to say that it will never happen. Makes me sad, really...

Advanceshipping and Rion had better be Chuck Norris approved.

"Ocarina of Time" was an awesome game, but I do think it's overrated, as well. I liked "Majora's Mask" more, and I like "Half-Life 2" more than either of them. "OoT" somehow manages to take the number one spot in just about every "Greatest Games of All Time" list, and I definitely don't think it's quite that good. Personally, I don't think any one such list should be a definitive reference for how good a game is.
What, you expect me to say something witty?

Keaton

Majora's Mask, for me, is definitely the top Zelda game-- if not the top game-- of all time.

A Link to the Past is a close second.

Hi no Seijin

Yeah, Majora's Mask is my top favorite Zelda game.  Top game in general, though....It's up there, but I haven't really worked out that particular list.
Best.  Cane.  EVER!

That's what I say about TP. It was my first Zelda game. Who cares if it was easy? Only fanboys are soooooo protective of OoT, I usually get beaten to a pulp (verbally) because "OoT is uBer 733t u no0b!!!!1!1!!1"

:'(

OoT was definitely good for it's time, but times change, it would be like saying a lance is the best weapon ever because at one point it was, but now the standards have gone up. I still like Majora's Mask better, and TP is also among the greates in the series.

Are you talking about graphics? If so, that is true, but graphics are just icing on the cake; they don't make the game.

I'm talking more about game length, plot, characters, gameplay and over all the feel of the game. It should always get a little better every time.

Okay, good to see that you prefer the actual meat and potatoes of a game instead of just the graphics. ;D

Of course I do think that some games are actually beautifully designed, like Okami, Windwaker and even the upcoming Red Steel 2; and that's something that I do like to notice, but sharper graphics doesn't always mean quality.

You shouldn't judge something old by today's standards, but by the standards of its time. Consider more how groundbreaking it was in 1998 than how it holds up in 2009.

The Glamour Nazi

TP was near the bottom of the list for me, seeing as it's difficulty was too low and it had something most fo the other Zelda's lacked. Linearness. It led you everywhere. No exploration for that huge world.

Now ALttP my top Zelda game let you do that.
