Hi no Seijin

I could have been luckier against Whitney and Morty (heh, Morty's the Ghost-type gym leader).  Against Whitney, I was down to my starter, Aidan, and Miltank made him fall in love with her, so I was missing most of the time, and she kept on using Milk Drink to restore her HP.  Took me far too long to KO her using Ember since physical attackers were barely doing anything, but at least she was burned.

And then with Morty, his Ghost Pokemon wiped the floor with mine.  I was down to Stantler and Morty was down to his final Haunter, and I had run out of PP for Astonish; Stantler's other three moves were Sand Attack, Hypnosis, and Stomp, the first two being non-damaging moves and Stomp being Normal and therefore useless against any Ghost Pokemon.  So the only thing I could do was keep Stantler's HP up with Potions until Morty's Haunter eventually KO'd itself with Curse.

But hey, only four more badges until I can take on the Elite Four and get the National Pokedex.  At the rate I'm going, I should be able to get my Enigma Stone before the event is over.

I didn't find Whitney as hard as other people made her out to be. My Onix was my Stonewall Jackson of the party; his absurdly high DEF and type advantage made her Normal-type, physical moves relatively painless, so I didn't have too much trouble, if I remember correctly.

Chuck, on the other hand, was different. Oh, gosh, was he different.

Hi no Seijin

That's the thing, though; all of Whitney's Pokemon could infatuate my male Pokemon, which my Onix was.  His defense wouldn't have mattered since he was refusing to attack more than half the time and Miltank would use Rollout, which gains in strength when used in succession.

Chuck is Water-type, right?  If so, who should I train up more:  Bellsprout (or a better Grass-type Pokemon) or Flaaffy?

I'm partial (see it's my all time favorite pokemon) to ampharos, so I'd say Flaafy, but... Isn't Chuck Ice? It's been too long and I'm never up early enough to get his phone number, so i've forgotten.

Hi no Seijin

Well, if Chuck is Ice, Aidan is a Quilava, and my highest leveled Pokemon, so I'll be good.

Nost Ice are Water/Ice hybrids though, which sucks if you send in a fire, Fighting is your best choice.

Hi no Seijin

Chuck was a Fighting-type anyway, and in my rush to get to the Elite Four, I had to rely on luck, which didn't work the first time, but worked the second time.

I'm up against Jasmine now, but I need to level up Aidan some more, preferably to the point where he evolves to his final form.  Where's a good place to train a Quilava?

Ugh, can't believe I missed the HM for Rock Smash.  Thank goodness I have Fly now.  Now I just need to head up to Lake Rage and catch a Pidgeotto.

Also, I got a Shuckle from someone in...Cianwood, I believe it was.  Do I have to return it at some point?

Use a Potion and switch out when Rollout becomes too troublesome, then. It'll only have twenty uses, so you can whittle that down gradually; plus, it'll get rid of his infatuation, to boot. When Rollout's all gone, that's no longer a hindrance, and you can continue using Onix as a fortress.

No, you do not, as far as I know.

Hi no Seijin

WHEEEEEEEEE!  Defeated the Elite Four tonight!  And in only one attempt!  My team was Aidan (Lv. 43 Typholsion), Halcyon (Lv. 47 Lugia), Eleanor (Lv. 42 Ampharos), and Alice (Lv. 41 Kadabra); the cannon fodder were Folkvar (Lv. 15 Dratini) and Edlyn (Lv. 30 Lapras).

If I don't get an e-mail about my hold by then, I'm heading up to the library to get me my Enigma Stone Thursday.

Wow, I just remembered that I still need to try to catch Lugia... DX

Hi no Seijin

I just threw a Master Ball at mine.  I have a couple of spare ones on my Diamond copy, and if I'm lucky I can find more over the GTS.  Is the Master Ball still the grand prize in the daily lotto at Goldenrod Radio Tower?

Probably is. I wouldn't be surprised, especially with the scant odds.

As for me, I'm saving my Master Ball for Pokemon that are either nigh-on impossible to capture or are annoying retreat cowards like Entei. XD

Hi no Seijin

Oh, yes, of course, my other two Master Balls are reserved for Entei and Raikou.

Hopefully, I'll have traded my Suicune from FireRed over to SoulSilver by the time I catch up to her so I can try my Repeat Ball trick again, since it worked so well the first time.

I gotta say I've never thought of doing something like that before. What's the catch rate multiplier for an appropriately-used Repeat Ball?

Hi no Seijin

I have absolutely no clue, but I believe Bulbapedia has that sort of information.
