He's only the best contemporary composer EVER (next to Koji Kondo, of course). He did the music for all of the Star Wars movies; he did Hook, I think; Jaws; I think he did his own version to the Legend of Zelda Overworld Theme; he did the music for the first three Harry Potter movies (curse you, Patrick Doyle, for replacing him in the fourth one!!!!! >:( >:( >:( ); he did Jurassic Park 1 and 2; Saving Private Ryan; The Patriot; and many, many more! ;D
