What is the difference between a wizard, sorcerer, and a warlock?

A wizard practices white magic.  Warlocks practice dark magic.  A sorcerer is a conjurer.

Well, that's one way to define them.  For my writing, a sorcerer/sorceress is a spellcaster born with the ability to use magic; a wizard/witch is a spellcaster who becomes able to use magic later in his/her life; a warlock is a any spellcaster in an army trained to use magic in battle.  I just thought that maybe warlock would be the term for males, and females would have their own term.  Warlockess, maybe?  I dunno.

Witch is the female form of warlock, traditionally.

Female wizards were also called wizards.
