Bah, I cant do this with attacks, Ive got to find another way. Maybe...

Denning made another sheild, but not at full power, around his body, then, with his off-hand tried to stike the body with another blast, hoping that the sheild would prevent him from returning to the assassins body, but get him out the clerics.

OOC: By blast, I'm gonna guess you meant another Elemental Burst.

IC: From Denning's off-hand, a mystical white flurry formed. It was always obvious when an Ice-based spell was being cast; This Burst was similar in texture and appearance to the blizzard explosion previously conjured by Feris. Now, Denning had probably heard the phrase "fighting fire with fire," and so it was odd that the cleric had been able to "fight ice with ice." It really didn't matter, however, because Denning's aim was precise. A magic user, the Sheikah would have had great difficulty missing a stationary target. Feris' body was encased in a thin layer of the frozen water element, the eyes alive with terror, although there was no soul to produce these emotions.

The Zora inside Denning's head could sense its body was in danger; he could also see such danger through the cleric's own eyes. A curse of annoyance echoed throughout the scholar's mind, dissipating as the enticing, bright soul of the Sheikah's enemy appeared outside of its temporary vessel. Feris evacuated Denning's body and field desperately towards his own, and was met with incredible shock as he quite literally bounced away from his scaled self.

Denning's shield had managed to prevent the psychic from reentering his own body. The cleric had, however, not taken precautions regarding his own safety. Enraged, Feris rocketed at his enemy and overcame any defenses, which had been all but drained in creating the blockade from the Zora's body. As if having the entire round planned perfectly, the assassin managed to slip back into his opponent's mind with ease. Angered by Denning's attempts, he gained control of the cleric's limbs and dragged him closer to the stationary psychic's iced body. Just at that moment, the seal of ice exploded, catapulting its shards at Denning like a barrage of chilled darts. Each projectile stung sharply, but it was only a minor exchange.

"Perhaps....Perhaps I could throw his body off the cliff here...If only, I could get my limbs, must concentrate..."

Denning attempts to walk twords the assassins body, not casting spells, or using his staff, simply trying to walk to the body of the assassin, if he could reach it, perhaps he could destroy the body, but then again, what of the spirit? Ignoring this thought, Denning treads on twords the body.

Fortunately for Denning, his concentration prevailed and he was able to trudge to Feris's stationary body. There was just one problem. Every move he made brought a rush of intense pain through his body. The wave tore through his body like a thousand pounds of iron being dropped on his limbs, but he was able to persevere long enough to reach his enemy.

'You're not going anywhere,' came the rasping screech inside his mind. Feris obviously had no intention of letting Denning inflict physical damage so easily. Like a claw tearing into his brain, an indescribable amount of pain wrenched at his head, as though the Zora had shrunk to the size of an insect and was interfering with the many different nerves in his head. The tweaking shock would have been unbearable, had Feris not let up just before the tactic ended his new vessels' life.

Then something odd happened. Feris removed himself from Denning's body, returning to his own cloaked body. As he reentered himself yet again, his eyes flashed to show that he had regained control. His muscles seemed to jerk back to functionality, and he just... stood there, not moving at all. A crooked grin appeared on his face, and he stepped back a few paces. Still unmoving, Denning was almost given the opportunity to attack.

OOC: Oh my god... I read your post exactly twelve hours after it was posted. No lie, it was exactly 11:47 PM here when I pressed "New Post" :o

IC:

The fiery burst of elemental magic whirled towards Feris, a floating sphere of molten lava and the hottest fires available, intensified by the scorching desert air. As it neared the Zora, he could feel the sweat forming on his scales and rippling tot he ground, creating small specks of wet sand around his body, and around his tail. Still, his grin did not diminish. He stood still, until the last moment.

And then his plan took form. A transparent brown light flashed around his body; a shield. Denning's Burst struck the magical barrier, and seemed to weaken, while also pushing the shield inwards. But then, the raging inferno doubled in size, and hurled in the opposite direction. Back to the cleric it had been conjured by.

Denning was unable to avoid the clever trick. The assassin had utilized a shield far more developed than the usual spell. The barrier had no only protected him, but had ricocheted the attack back at the caster. The Sheikah's robes smoldered under the intense flames, but fortunately, he was sent flying into the water of the sea by the force of the attack. This doused the fire, but still his body smoked. Feris' eerie laughter haunted his mind, taunting him, each "Heh" a metaphorical slap in the face.

I need more than spells...I need to out-trick him.

Denning gets up from the attack, and stands still, as if he was doing nothing. But what is really is doing is concentraiting on making an invisiple, and unnoticable sheild, inside his body, to try and get the assassin out of his body, and keep him from his own.

OOC: Oh man! Sorry Blank! Forgot to check this post out, finnaly did after 16 days, sorry bout the delay!!!

OOC: No need to apologise, It's taken me an entire week just to reply
I hope I interpreted your post correctly...

IC:

Laughing sadistically as Denning fell prey to his clever Reflect spell, Feris was beginning to wonder if keeping the cleric alive at this point was worth the fun. His eyebrows arched as Denning stood still. There is no possibility that the fool knows how to use Reflect... what is he doing? thought the chaotic Zora as he watched his opponent do seemingly little to advance his chances.

Finally growing weary of Denning's silence and motionlessness, the powerful assassin performed his odd vessel acquisition technique, separating his soul from his body. His eerie spiritual entity jolted towards his target, seeking a temporary abode in the cleric's mind.

Feris wasn't sure what sound he was hearing as he was barricaded from Denning's head. For a moment he wondered if it was the sound of glass being shattered, but it almost resembled the hiss of an arrow flying through the wind. But sights and sounds were not his priority thoughts. He knew that Denning had created a shield and had once again prevented entry, and Feris was becoming tired of this. His soul hovered back to his body, making itself at home again. Denning had used the technique previously in the battle - keeping his mind safe from intrusion - but Feris was able to find his own vessel again, without losing any stamina. The battle remained at a standstill.

Keeping his sheild up, Denning speaks.

"This is getting nowhere, we are both just wasting our magic. You can't kill me, and I can't kill you. Let's call it a draw."

Denning offers out his hand, still keeping his sheild up, on the inside of his body.

Feris smiled. He shook his head in bewilderment, and then nodded, indicating that he agreed with the cleric. Deep in his own mind, however, a devious little trick was being processed. The Zora, smiling contentedly, stepped towards the Sheikah, hand outstretched to meet his target's gesture of truce. This was the closest proximity between the two scholars without any signs of violence. The psychic gripped Denning's hand as a friend would do...

... But the powerful squeeze indicated that something was amiss. A maniacal grin replaced the friendly, false smile on Feris' face. He stared deep into the cleric's eyes, his won shining brightly with power. The assassin's scaled hand began to spark, and all sorts of electrical bolts erupted from the union. Finally, Feris let go and stepped away, but only a few paces. He raised his arms in the air, stretching.

"You forget your predicament, cleric. I was sent to kill you; there is no truce between us. A draw would mean nothing. This is not an exercise, this is your doom."

The Zora began to laugh wildly, his hands alight still with the electrical magic. He pointed to his chest, grinning maliciously. "Thanks, for the shield, Denning." His eyes began to glow again; his soul was rocketed again towards Denning's head. And it breached easily; Feris had absorbed the Sheikah's shield when the two shook hands. he was now inside again, clawing at and burning individual brain cells inside Denning's head, and forcing the scholar to do odd things. Feris' piercing laugh continued to echo throughout the corridors of Denning's psychic being.

OOC: Your next move has the potential to be the last, so think carefully

OOC: I was goning to blast him with fire when he shook my hand, but this will do i suppose.

IC

"Attacking his body is pointless...I must use a new tactic. My mind, it can be shielded without magic, the will of a sheikah is great!"

Denning starts to think, he is thinking odd thoughts, he is focusing on the writen history of Deoxolips, going through his life over and over, to try and make a mental shield from his thoughts.

OOC: This is a record: longest delay ever possible. Half a year >.> Entirely my fault; let's put it behind and continue.

IC:

Feris screeched with glee as Denning opened a tome of the past inside his mind. Through it he observed the mayhem that was Denning's life. From his days training under the infamous Marin to the day the battle at Fort Damon had been lost, the Zora viewed the timeline in a mere minute. There were hundreds of mismatched memories flowing through the scholar's breached mind. There was one in particular that caught his interest - a young man stood bewildered in the desert, in the exact spot that the Zora's still form was standing. Behind him floated a molding, dingy vessel - a casket - in the sea. The red-haired adult was soaked, and looked famished. Feris felt himself being hurled at the figure - or was it that Denning was carrying him? The motion ground to a halt, and the resounding soundwaves of a voice echoed and pulsed inside Denning's head. "Hello there. I am Denning, a cleric, are you hurt? Do you need help?" The scene faded, and Feris smirked - or at least, he would be making such an expression if he had some real form. He cackled villainously. "So! This is the day you met him, isn't it! Let's see if you know more about that man!"

The scene shifted violently - it literally hurt Denning's eyes as the current scene was wrenched away and replaced by another. The Deku Woods appeared in Denning's eyesight. He was standing beside the Stock Pot Inn, and just ahead stood Blank, the man from the other memory. He smiled and gestured toward his first friend in Hyrule. "They seem to be an organization of some sort, the disturbing part is that no one knows what their "club" practices. Perhaps they are some sort of terrorist faction, or perhaps they excel in organized crime, the life of hitmen and crooked mafias. Or, perhaps they are just a group of odd friends that enjoys playing Poker in the closed confines of an inn chamber with the door locked tight. Whatever the reason, they give me the creeps. I've decided to investigate, as far as that will take me. Would you like to "spy" with me?" The statement was obviously made in the direction of Feris and his mercenary brethren. He always was a clever one, and inquisitive to boot. Denning's voice was heard again. "Hm... They do seem a little odd. I do want to know who they are. I guess I'll help you. But I will be hiding in the shadows; I don't want to be seen." Feris chuckled loudly enough to cause a fierce migraine for the cleric. "So! You knew all along! And now you are scorning the day you ever disregarded our threat."

Denning's line of sight returned to the battle. Feris stood before him; the cleric's control had been returned. Feris' arms were crossed, and his face bore an expression of annoyance. "So, you rely on your memories to aid you in this fight? That's hardly fair!" he said with an exasperated tone. "Then again, I suppose that this isn't, either..." The Zora lunged forward and hurled one of his compact magical orbs at the cleric. It ricocheted off of Denning's staff, sending out sparks as the soul of the assassin resumed its usual tirade, flying towards its target yet again. Denning was running out of possibilities for leverage; if he did not succeed in besting this sadistic scaled foe he would surely be destroyed. It would only be a matter of seconds before Feris could resume control. The scholar would have to act quickly.

"By the Goddesses! How am I ever supposed to beat this thing! Perhaps the body is the key, and while I can, lets get it off the cliff and rip it to shreads.."

Denning put out a full charge at the body, avoiding the spirit (If i can see it of course, you be the call of that, if its invisible, Denning would have ran in a zig-zag to the body).

Denning's arms are spread and he attempts to grapple his opponent and take him to the cliff, where he would throw the body down.

Denning was able to sneak by the soul, and as he rushed towards its owner's body, it seemed to notice the lack of a target. It immediately reversed its flight and went speeding back in the direction of Denning. "Don't touch that!" came a hoarse shout, seemingly from the energy that was Feris' soul. It was too late; Denning had reached his enemy and had already pushed the still form of the assassin over the cliff and downwards to the sea. Feris was unsure if his soul could penetrate the surface of the water; this type of tactic was not normal among his victims, and it wasn't like any of his targets had ever lasted this long in combat anyway.

His soul sped towards the falling body, preparing to enter and rejuvenate the vessel in time to avoid ejection and lose its home forever. If he could just get into the scaled body before impact with the water, he would be safe. The water could not harm a Zora - but the soul of one was another story. Feris had partaken of a risky trade; he was not going to let his own magic be his undoing. Succeeding in reaching his own head in time, he could now physically feel the cool sea water splashing against his skin. Of course, this liquid had the same effect as putting a fish in salt water - sea water was harmful to Zoras. Feris bellowed loudly and screeched in agony as the searing pain erupted through his veins and skin. Clutching the rocky cliff face, he proceeded to claw his way to the top of the short fall and resume battle.

"Hardly fair, Denning. Hardly fair," spoke the possessor coldly. Clearly, he was not impressed by the near death experience. He reached out a hand with great speed, and clutched the cleric by the throat, gripping tightly with his blue, scaled fingers. His teeth clenched, and he began to to radiate a bright blue aura, while his body glowed cyan. Feris pushed forward violently and brought Denning to the ground, pinning him still and choking him as he knelt over his foe. Denning could likely feel the assassin's spiritual energy entering again. The Zora laughed eerily. "No mistakes this time," he whispered malevolently into Denning's ear. The fingers that clutched Denning's neck glowed brightly, indicating that the soul had left one body and was about to enter the other.

OOC: I bet you're getting pretty sick of this by now, huh, what with every strategy failing ^_^ I was told that my set out tactic would be hard to guess, so I can't blame you for not getting it right away. You're so close! (And you've come quite close on several occasions.)

Denning puts his hands on the hand gripping his neck.

"Hardly...fair? Hardly fair! Your an...an assassin! Your one of those sick...sick sorts who ambush and dont even...dont even give your enemy a chance! Just...just die you blasted cowered!"

Denning says that with two motives, one, he is very very ticked off, he is no combat specialist, and has little knowledge about tactics, but he knows that an assassin's tactics are cowerdly at best. His second motive, is distraction, to set the zora into a fit of rage and distract him, but a few seconds after saying this he channels another elemental blast(Or is it burst? Im so bad at this!) through his hands, this time, of a water element, but not just any water, no, it is sea water.

After seeing the reaction to the sea water earlier, Denning thought it may be good to use some of it to his advatage.
