OOC: Sea water? I'd allow that, but... "blue aura," and we all know what that means :P

Feris thought about Denning's retort for a moment, loosening his grip ever so slightly on the Sheikah's throat. His face took on an intrigued expression, and should someone be walking by the scene they would observe a comical sight. A cloaked man lay on the sandy desert ground, and leading up from his neck knelt another cloaked man, obviously Zoran when the blue scales and complexion were considered. The sun glinted brilliantly off of the dark-dyed spectacles on his eyes, and he gazed into the great ball of fire in the sky with a look that seemed to say "He's got me there..."

"That may be true, Denning. But you've known for a long time that this day was coming," explained the treacherous fishman as he renewed his tight grip, but all too late. A wide cascade of water erupted from the beach beside the combatants. It seemed to slow time, and the brief second that Feris was given to look into the tidal wave was enough for him to curse and jump away from his victim. He planted his feet in the sand and prepared to be doused, clenching his teeth even harder than before. And yet, as the water struck him, he felt no pain whatsoever. This forced a grin onto his face to replace his shock. The assassin glanced at his body - the innate Zora Shield had played its role. Feris knew that that Denning would plot a counter - most scholars had at least that much sense.

Of course, the fact that the cleric had even made the attempt drove Feris to continue his tirade. He shook his head and aimed a well-placed punch at Denning's forehead, impacting his scaled knuckles into his temple and splitting the skin wide open. A steady flow of blood began to flow down his face. Feris hopped back a step or two and laughed. "Lucky for you I had not done that before your little waterworks display!" mocked the Zora, gesturing at the cleric's now soaked robes. Even as he spoke, his body began to glow again, and soon the soul was riveting through the air again. It seemed to be his best ace, despite his showing of decent enough fist fighting skills. Repetitive as it was, he knew Denning would tire of the cycle eventually and be defeated.

"This fish is going to taste good tonight...very, very tasty..."

Seeing his tactic fail, again, and again, Denning is getting desperate, if he keeps spending his magic like this he wont have any to use anymore.

Perhaps a channeling would do good here?

Denning jumps to his feet and runs at his enemy, staff out, Denning channels an fire burst through his staff, as he swings it at the future dinner of the Hylian.

"Why won't you die!"

All the while, Feris had at least been able to read Denning's thoughts - after all, being a psychic hardly limited one to possession only. He caught wind of a rather disturbing entry, and was forced to look away in disgust. For Feris to be disgusted was a rarity - he was the man who had watched his own powers tear a target's torso from his legs. "You would eat a Zora?" he muttered. "If ever there was cause to walk away and let you live today, Sheikah, it was just lost..." Of course, the Zora had never had any intention to surrender, or even call the match a draw.

"I won't die, Denning, because I am far better off than you. You should have taken your own life the day you caught wind of our scheme. You did not realize how powerful the mind can truly be, even after all your mismatched incidents involving the one you call Deoxolips. There is no way for you to kill me!" Feris launched from where he was standing and was approaching Denning when he began to glow yet again (it seemed to be a never-ending cycle, and one would wonder how the assassin could possibly manage to use the ability so many times in a row). His body resumed its stillness, as the soul was flung outwards towards Denning.

If ever there was an interesting sight to behold in Hyrule, it would be on that day. The raging blast of fire conjured by Denning collided magnificently with Feris' energy, and there was a startling eruption of flame in all directions. The soul of the Zora could be seen moving freely through the intense channel of magic. If it had a face, it would probably take on a content grin so as to say "Ha!" and laugh in the Sheikah's face. Hundreds of spirals of fire went spinning left, right, up, and down to form a brilliant display of fury. As Feris came to the end of the blast, it exploded wildly and backfired on Denning's staff, sending his only weapon hurtling through the air a fair distance away. If there was a time to feel that all hope was lost, it was now.

And yet, as Feris neared the cleric, a second telepathic wave interrupted Denning's thoughts. It was a much kinder one, the voice a courageous man. Denning would have never heard the voice before, and yet it sounded oddly trustworthy - at least, in comparison to Feris' raspy, devious tone it would.

Denning! Think very carefully before you act! Feris is a powerful fighter - you won't last much longer under this man's assault. You must prevent the evil one from entering your mind again; it won't be long before he renders you unconscious. Try to keep him from returning to his own vessel, as well. The voice faded out, and as quickly as it appeared, it was gone. Feris drew closer.

"Thank you?" Denning replies to the voice.

"Avoid and keep away? Perhaps he cant stay out of body for ever? If I run, how far can he follow? Is there even a limit? This is gonna be a gamble..."

Denning starts to run away from the body of the Zora, running away from it and turning a bit, on his way, he ran twords the staff, and picked it up. Denning ran as if he was attempting to get inbetween the spirit and the body, once (if) Denning made it inbetween the two parts, Denning ran twords the body, firing a fire burst at his staff, lighting it on fire, Denning took a whack at the body with a flaming stick.

A scaled hand flew out at the flaming staff and caught the wooden tool in midair. Feris grinned deviously and pulled the staff away from his prey, exerting a decent amount of force into disarming his foe. It seemed that in all the time Denning spent running from his predator, the Zora had grown wise to the ploy, and had redirected his course of action to meet the cleric's new strategy. Feris' tight grin seemed to hiss out the horrible sound of "Better luck next time" before his second fist surged upwards and made its impact on the Sheikah's stomach. The Zora smiled delightedly at the warped Squish! sound that came from the strike, and he stepped back to allow Denning room to crumple before him.

The battle thus far had been a harsh one, but Feris had spent enough time with petty games and mismatched tricks. He was about ready to reunite with his allies, whom he doubted had been met with anything but success. The only one he feared for was the bald one, Larson, of whom he was least friendly with. If Larson were to face the red-haired target in an honest duel, Feris knew the outcome would be dire. Of course, the Zora knew his comrade was a well-trained assassin and would likely find a hidden viewpoint for a near invisible kill. The other targets did not worry the psychic, as he really did not know who they really were. However, he knew that if they were any bit as resistant as Denning, they would be facing a greater challenge.

Through with simply making idle blows on the cleric, Feris prepared his signature ability and launched his enigmatic entity at Denning, who was in far too great a proximity to even attempt an escape. Feris directly assimilated himself into Denning's head yet again, and once more found himself comfortably stationed in the vaults of his target's memory. The mess of energy that was Feris' interaction with a mind took on a more physical atmosphere, and the Zora found himself standing in none other than the Stock Pot Inn. On the front reception desk there sat a small, pocket-sized book, which the Zora proceeded to leaf through. It seemed every entry in the compact journal pertained to Denning. One passage caught his eye, and as he read aloud from the book he found himself standing in another area altogether.

Feris floated on the outer edge of a flashing scene from Denning's memory. He watched as the cleric ran at another Zora, staff swinging madly. Ah, so you have a history of run-ins with Zoras, it seems, chided the assassin. In the real world at Tantari, his mocking hisses would still reverberate off of the walls of Denning's head, causing some unwanted trauma. Feris' eyes caught sight of the red-haired one yet again as the nomad strides onto the scene. Well, well. It appears you know Fireside quite well. And I hardly knew he even existed in this plane of existence still... I know someone who would find this very interesting.... As soon as it started, the memory ended. The adventurers present - Denning, Grenada, Alpha, Kasei, Blank and the Zora called Ciric - dispersed and Feris found himself back in the ethereal realm of Denning's thoughts.

All of the still motion that his water-desiring body had been put through was causing it to heat greatly. A few gulls caught wind of the smell - putrid as it was - and swarmed in on the helpless fishlike specimen. Feris, still inside Denning, noticed almost instantly and tried to step forward as the cleric. When nothing moved, it became obvious that control over Denning had been lost while Feris had been viewing the previous memory - he made a mental note to not sneak peaks at the cleric's past again as he was forced from the mind and out into the open air again. As he flew towards his own body, the soul seemed to rise slightly into the air.
