The courtyard was bustling with activity. It was likely pretty obvious why: the tournament was beginning! There wasn't much of an arena; it was merely a fenced in field surrounded by people that were eager to watch the event. This match was scheduled to be between two Sheikans: Arrika and Kamiko.

The announcer stepped into the ring. He was a Rito (named Rafael) dressed with standard Rito apparel. He seemed to not want to be here, but was going to be paid a good deal of money, so he didn't care. "Welcome to the first round of the courtyard tournament! For our first match, we have two very skilled participants: Kamiko and Arrika!" he shouted. "Start whenever you want."

OOC: Arrika goes first. After this fight's over, the RG's can lock this up and put it in the dungeon. Same with the other tourney topics.

Kobas clapped Arrika on the back encouragingly before she stepped into the ring. She drew her old dagger and pointed it at Kamiko. "And may the best fighter win! Good luck," she said with a grin. "I'll go first."

She did not know what to expect from Kamiko, having never met her before, so she figured she wouldn't start off at full speed. She tried a simple attack to test the other Sheikah, lunging and moving her weapon in a slashing movement at her opponent.

"And with a wish of good luck to her opponent, Arrika takes the first attack!" Rafael shouts to the crowd that began to shout in joy because the fight had finally began. The attack misses it's mark entirely (7+6 [roll+AGI] vs. 24) because Kamiko is able to dodge. "It looks like Kamiko is adept at avoiding attacks, will Arrika be able to do the same?"

Kamiko quickly rolled out of the simple attack as she did dhe pulled off the cloak she had been wearing to reveal a simple sword, threw it to Jeromy who was closest in the croud and unsheathed her sword & shield.

"good luck to you to in this match" said Kamiko as she dashed foward and thrust her sword foward.

Kamiko's sword collides with Arrika with ease (6+5[roll+AGI] vs. 2+6[DEF+AGI]) dealing 8 DMG. "Unfortunately, Arrika doesn't seem to have much luck in this battle," Rafael shouts. The crowd seemed rather surprised as the Sheikan agility failed. Or, maybe, it had overcome. In Kamiko's case, the latter would be true, but Arrika was unfortunately too slow to dodge the other blade.

Arrika hissed in pain and frustration as she was hit. Rafael was right, luck was definitely not on her side today... She jumped back several feet to a safe distance. If direct attacks weren't working, maybe a ranged would prove to be more effective. She drew her boomerang and let it fly towards Kamiko, praying that this attack would hit its mark.

The boomerang soared through the air in perfect form, and Kamiko dodged it easily. However, the crowd remained silent, as if awaiting something else to happen. Even Rafael who hung high in the sky watched with great anticipation for an unknown reason. Suddenly, this reason became painfully obvious to Kamiko. Upon the return of the boomerang, it whacked him hard in the back of the head, and made a sickening noise as it collided dealing 7 dmg to the nomad.[AGI(6)+Roll(16)=24]VS[DEF(19)+AGI(5)=24]

Rather than stopping the boomerang, Kamiko's head gave way for the boomerang to return expertly to Arrika's hand. The crowd went wild with their cheers and shouts, some more profane and verbally abusive than others. "Uh-oh!" Cried Rafael from above. "Kamiko isn't moving!" He shouted into the mic, as he flew in for a closer view. "It appears as if he's still a bit stunned from the attack!" The crowd grew silent, all except for one man in the crowd who made himself known by shouting out, "Hit him again!!" Rafael flapped his wings as he ascended higher into the air. "This is a perfect opportunity for Arrika to attack again!! He cried out, rallying the excitement of the viewers.

Arrika grinned; this is just the opportunity she had been waiting for. She wanted to try out the new spell she had just learned, but had never used it before and didn't want to risk messing that attack up too, not when her opponent could hardly move. It was embarrassing enough that she, with her superior speed and agility, had completely missed her first attack. The Sheikah decided to fight her usual way, slashing with her dagger, this time a lot more confident that she would deal damage this time around.

Arrika's dagger came down on Kamiko [AGI(6)+Roll(20)=26]VS[DEF(19)+AGI(5)=24] and hit the immobilized nomad square in the chest, dealing a painful total 8 dmg to Kamiko. Rafael flapped wildly in the air as the stands went wild with excitement. "And just like that, Arrika has turned the tide in this battle! That just goes to show how something as simple as a boomerang can have such drastic effects in the heat of battle!" Flying in for a closer look, it became apparent that Kamiko was jerking back into motion. "It seems Kamiko has recovered from the attack, and is back in fighting form! This battle isn't over just yet folks!" He screamed into the mic, as he once again ascended higher into the air.

OOC: Kamiko is no longer stunned, and may attack now. If he hasn't responded in 4 days, he automatically loses the match.

Kamiko got up a little slowly rubbing the back of her head she also gently rubbed the wound that she got from this battle. She finaly bent down and grabed her sword and again slowly rose this time realy aggitated atwhat happened and ran foward and crouched down and kicked upward towards Arrika's chin.

Arrika had managed to lean back, and avoid Kamiko's quick kick. [AGI(5)+Roll(14)=9]VS[DEF(16)+AGI(6)=22]
"Whoa! That was close!" The Rito called out. "After recovering from a stun, Kamiko moved surprisingly fast!" He added, as he flew over to the other side of the arena to get a different view of the action.

Arrika had seen the kick coming and bent backwards, Kamiko's foot missing her nose by inches. Being the flexible Sheikah that she was she continued leaning away and flipped backwards using her hands, the dagger in her right hand cutting into the ground and leaving a deep gouge. To her she seemed to flip away in slow motion, but on the quick return strike, where she left no chance for Kamiko to even draw breath again, it was as if time had caught up and she was nothing but a blur, here for a moment and gone the next. Her dagger seemed to be proving more effective now, and she could feel her initial misfortunes ebbing away. Silently she attacked again with her dagger, and the cycle of her actions of dodging, recovering, and counterstriking all passed in less than 2 seconds. Arrika was certain that even if she missed, which she praying to Farore that she wouldn't, her agility and confidence in which she fought would at least unnerve Kamiko in some way.

"Oh- Oh my word!!" Rafael called out, trying to keep his eyes focused on Arrika. The crowd fell silent as she seemed to fade in and out of the fabric of reality. Suddenly, her dagger also seemed to plunge out of the nothingness, as it cut deep into Kamiko's body dealing an agonizing 8 damage.[AGI(6)+Roll(19)=25]VS[DEF(19)+AGI(5)=24]

The crowd gasped, and couldn't even cheer. They knew the fight was drawing to a close. Nobody can take that much abuse and be fine. Rafael flew in for a closer look to make sure Kamiko was okay. He held up a hand to those in the stands as he hung in the air. "Kamiko is still able to fight! Despite the constant damage, Kamiko is still able to fight! What a trooper!"

I.C. - as Kamiko landed she grasped her side in pain as she winced and mumbled under her breath damn she then sheathed her sword and put away her shield and began walking toward Arrika as if she was about to say 'i forfet' but when she got real close she quickly redrew her weapontry and in one smooth motion she sliced her sword towards Arrika>

OoC - i havent quit yet i still have a trick or two left

"It looks like Kamiko is... giving up?" He asked confused. He slowly descended to the ground, and landed. Kamiko was approaching Arrika, most likely for a handshake. "Well, folks, it looks like this fight is over." He announced. "I declare Arrika the winner of this-" he was interrupted by the gasps of the crowd, turned around to witness Kamiko with her sword drawn. It was apparent that Arrika had been his, for there was a new cut added to her body [AGI(5)+Roll(17)=22]VS[DEF(16)+AGI(6)=22]

"Looks like we've got ourselves a surprise attack!" He called out, leaping back into the air. "This has certainly been one of our oddest fights yet!" The crowd seemed to be happy that the match would continue, but the Rito knew they were thirsting for something more. He turned down to look at the two obviously tired competitors and awaited Arrika's retaliation.
