It took Saber several long minutes to get through the page on Goron weaknesses--although it was mostly diagrams and had barely fifty words on it, it all seemed like gibberish until he tried combination after combination of possible words.

Satisfied that he'd be able to gain entrance to a cave on the Ruto Plateau should the need ever arise again, he closed the hefty book and reached up to place it back in its place, but froze. His desperate eyes roamed the shelves. Where had he taken the book from? Surely this was a travesty.

What did they do to fellows who misplaced books? Would some sort of alarm or trap be set off should the wrong book occupy the wrong space on the shelf?

The mercenary hadn't experienced anything tragic in a library before--indeed, he had never really experienced a library before, but he had heard someplace that knowledge was power--and there was a lot of knowledge here. Should all that collective might be turned against him...there!

Where that book was slanted between two books! It looked like there'd be room for another book in there--indeed, that tome had probably fallen over when he had removed the Goron book from its side. A giddy little grin plastering the proud mercenary's face, he stood on tiptoe to place the book--wait, on which side? The right, or the left? Once again, a conundrum.

Biting his lip and looking around, he decided instead on a different course of action. He extended his empty left hand and grabbed the slanting book, pulling it off the shelf as well. He studied the cover intently--perhaps it would have some sort of clue on it as to where it sat in relation to the Goron book?

'Royal descent?! Dogura sure never mentioned anything about that . . .' Momentarily taken off guard by this tidbit of information, Alpha finds he lacks the words needed to come up with any kind of response to the rookie's information. He simply nods in thanks and turns around, striding over to where the he's been directed . . . and then coming to an abrupt stop as he eyes the selection before him.

'Well, he did say they had pretty much every issue from the South . . .' He stares at the stacks and shelves of newspapers and magazines littering the area around him, having very little idea of where to proceed. He looks around for the person the rookie had mentioned . . . Tessie, right? Yeah, that sounded right.

must you really ask for help? i'm getting tired of you butting in. you think you can do a better job of helping?! yes, actually. second shelf over, third row from the bottom, fifteen magazines from the rightmost side.

Eyebrow rising up an inch, Alpha shrugs and strides over to the second shelf, counting fifteen magazines over from the right wall of the third row. He slowly draws the book out, looking it over for a few moments. Sage of Life, an issue out of Saria Town - no doubt the title made reference to the legendary Sage of Forest from the age of the Hero of Time. He opened it up and swiftly moved over to the Table of Contents to see if anything there made reference to Dogura or Shadowclaw.

let me guess, you actually know everything that's happened to dogura, don't you? i might, yes. but you won't tell me. of course not. it's too enjoyable watching you all squirm. figures.

Finishing the scripture about Darkin, Shigure folded a corner of the page, and closed the book. Before he could even put it down, the hooded man appeared holding a book. Shigure carefully accepted the book, and begun reading through the "small blurb of text" that the man had indicated. Reading through, his eyebrow rose as he read onward. "Dogura completely deserted Shadowclaw?" He sounded surprised. "He wouldn't... there has to be some other explanation." He paused briefly, and leaned back in his chair, and stared at the ceiling, clearly perplexed.. The wooden chair screamed for mercy as the squeaking of it echoed off of the library's shelves. "I mean... I never met the boy, but... Rendd wouldn't raise a foul seed." Leaning forward again, he reread the paragraph. "This is questionable, but its information nonetheless. Good work." Placing his elbows on the table, he reseted his large Goronic head in his giant hands, and sighed. Wiping his face downward, his hands stopped just under his eyes, and he closed them tight as if under stress. Gorons weren't the most knowledgeable of races; and it was likely that he'd taken in a bit too much information a bit too fast.

He stood up, and scooted out of his chair. "I'm going outside for a breather." He stated flatly. "Be back in flash." He lumbered over to the door, and bumped into a cloaked being as he exited. A soft "excuse me" could be heard outside the building as the Goron remembered his manners. The cloaked being stood there for a moment, looked out the door. His or her head snapped in the direction of the table of adventurers. The being walked slowly across the library, and stopped abruptly at the table. Completely cloaked in black, all that was visible was the stranger's eyes. The eyes, however, gave away that she was a woman. Her eyes darted across the table, and stopped on the two books. She turned and stared at Victor, and then the fellow cloakie. She stared hard before walking briskly into the shelves of the library. "people like that always put me on edge." Said a rather heavy looking man who appeared at the side of the table. He was sweating pretty bad, and seemed out of breath. He took a seat at the table, and swallowed. "I was running through the library- right round that bend there- and I come to realize it. Don't know why I's runnin'." He stated. "Y'all finding what you're lookin' for?" He asked with a smile.

It would become apparent to Saber that the books were in alphabetical order. He was in the "G" Section, and the cover read "Gengai Family: Mysteries". It would seem the Goron book would go to the left of the book Sabertache had just pulled from it's place. The book was black, and cover was made of Leather. "Need any help?" A tiny voice came from below. A Deku in a little green vest (the staff uniform) looked up at the mercenary. "I detest aiding the search for books, but I'm required to ask." He sighed, and hung his head. "I hate books. I hate this place. But its the only place that will hire me right now." He was obviously an irritable little Deku, and he clearly wished for Saber to deny his help, and send him on his way.
OOC: Do with that what you will Saber

Alpha opens the magazine to read the ever so familiarly place table of contents.
Table of Contents
Saria Town Fashion Headlines ........................... pg.3
Hip New Woodland Music ................................ pg.14
The Gossip Stone .......................................... pg.26
Monthly Comic ............................................. pg.32
Tatt Artist of the Month .................................pg.35
Glossary .....................................................pg.37
It would seem that Alpha had stumbled upon nothing more than a teen magazine. Perhaps Alpha was just tricked by his "sub conscience".

A grimace sweeps across the Sheikah's face as a roaring laugh erupts in his mind. 'why did i even bother to believe you?! how should i know, you're the idiot who fell for it.' With a sigh, Alpha glances around before spying another magazine with dreary coloring on the visible part of the cover. He reaches in and pulls it out, hoping that this time around things will work out a bit better.

OOC: Horray, revitalizing old topics. Woohoo.

Saber looked down at the little wooden man, and then back at the book in his hand. It didn't take him long to realize that he could barely even make out what the cover said, and the contents of the book itself would probably be even hazier. "Yes, I could use some help, actually. First off, I could really use a drink. Could you run across the street to a tavern and pick me up something? Some ale would be nice, I haven't had any in a long time. Then I'd like you to put this Goron book back, and read this Jen-Jie book to me." The mercenary looked at the Deku with honest eyes--the alphabetization of the books had flown completely over Saber's head.

OOC: All aboard the bandwagon.

This magazine read: Legends Retold, and it was actually fairly new looking. It was one among many in the series that lined the shelves. Under the title of the series at the top of the magazine, there was a sub-title which read: Shadowclaw's Mystery Birth. Opening it's pages would reveal a table of contents:

Pg.2-6 .......... The Mystery Birth of Fang Gengai
pg.7-12 ......... The Upbringing of Fang Gengai
pg.13-15 ....... The Intricities of Fang's Magic
pg.16-19 ....... The Disappearance of Fang Gengai
pg.20-22 ....... Present Day Knowledge

The tiny wooden man began fell silent, and kept his eyes to the ground. His tiny mat of hair hid his eyes from onlookers. He then, began to tremble. He trembled more violently as the seconds went on. A Hylian who was in the same section completely stopped what he was doing to watch. The Deku's hands began to quiver, and beads of sweat ran down his mahogany finish. Violently, and abruptly, he exploded. "THAT DOES IT! I'VE HAD IT WITH THIS PLACE!! YOU WANT SOME ALE? DO YA? HOW ABOUT THIS?!" The Deku leapt back, and reared his head back, before launching a sticky Deku-nut through his tube-shaped mouth directly at Saber. He didn't even watch to see if it'd actually hit the mercenary. He didn't take off- but rather, ripped off his green little vest, and tossed it on the floor. "I HATE EVERYTHING!!" He cried, as he scuttled out of the library.

An uncomfortable silence befell the library. A few employees poked their heads around the shelves, peering into the isle. A voice finally cut the silence from somewhere in the library.

"...What did you do?"

YOU WANT SOME ALE? DO YA? HOW ABOUT THIS?!
Oh, that's nice of him. He's bringing me ale. Then the Deku drew back his funny little snout, as if he were preparing to launch something. Oh, he must have an ale compartment. Deku sure are funny creatures, aren't they? Cute too. Completely oblivious to the fact the wooden man was actually quite furious, Saber opened his mouth wide to give his new friend an easier target. Besides, you don't want to waste a drop of ale when you can't afford it!

As the sticky nut launched from the Deku's snout, it traced a beautiful arc through the air, landing right in the gaping maw of his tormentor, who swallowed without question. When the object wouldn't go down his throat, he coughed it up into the palm of his hand, looking at it quizzicaly. "That's not ale...maybe it's inside? I'll cut it open when I'm done in the library. Thanks for--" But the Deku was nowhere to be seen.
"...What did you do?"
"I think he needs to use the bathroom. Just kinda disappeared like that. Don't worry though, I got my ale." Leaving the matter at that, Saber opened the Jen-Jie book he had asked for help reading and decided that he might as well start reading it himself while waiting for his buddy's assistance.

Saber opened the book labled "Gengai- Master of Magic" Before he could even begin reading, a soft feminine voice rang out behind him. "You're looking for Fang, aren' you?" She appeared at Saber's side, and looked deeply into his eyes. Her eyes were a beautiful hazel color, and her voice was as heavenly as her eyes. "I see. You're all searching for a friend of my brother's. Yes, I'm Fang Gengai's sister, and what you're holding is a book about our family." She snatched the book out of Saber's hands, and tossed in the air. A blazing inferno leapt from her fingertips, and engulfed the book. Ashes rained around the two adventurers as the woman closed her eyes. "Our family never signed any documents giving permission to write books about Fang. Our family aren't Hylian, Shiekah, or Human. We're called Veloans, and we're extremely adept at magic, moreso than any other race. We're a race of people that were nearly hunted to extinction by the Hylian and Human nobles who feared our power." She opened her eyes, and stared pleadingly into Saber's.

"Why am I telling you all of this? Because I can see into your soul- and yours is a pure one." Her cheeks rose, and placed her hands over her heard. "Fang was a Veloan that was captured by a Goron merchant, and sold at a high price to a man who was in a high seat of a small country called Shadowclaw. Fang never told me anything about that man, other than that he took care of him while he was growing up." She placed a hand on Saber's shoulder. "Fang Gengai... I can tell you where to find him." She motioned for Saber to come closer. She whispered into his ear. "Go South. Go to a town called Saria Town. The city may seem abandoned, but my brother is indeed living there with a few other Veloans." She looked around, and continued. "I'll accompany you there. If you were to show up as a group of strangers..." She paused, and motioned for him to follow her, as she waked.

"You'd all be killed."

She didn't waver even a bit when those words left her lips. She reached up, and tapped on Alpha's shoulder as she moved past him, and motioned for him to follow her. When they arrived back at the table with the rest of the group, the Veloan woman stared at each individual adventurer. She turned, and looked Alpha dead in the eye. "You. You make me uneasy. Something about your soul seems... twisted, for lack of a better word." Her eyes softened before she spoke again. "Just keep away from me, and we won't have problems." Shigure stood up, and pounded his hands on the table. "This man is a part of this group, and will be treated with respect!" He spoke loudly. "I don't know who you are, but we're conducting an investigation here. If you have nothing to contribute but insults, please leave." His cold stare would stop a horse at 50 paces. She, however, returned the same cold gaze. "I am the one lead you have to your goal." She hissed. "Speak to me like that again, and you'll breathe no longer." She straightened herself up, and sighed.

"You may call me Veloa. I am the sister of a close friend of the one you are looking for. Fang Gengai. I can take you to him, so long as everyone here can promise me that they won't speak out of line when we arrive in Saria Town. Saria Town, is indeed our destination. It may be troublesome getting there, due to the South's condition." She eyed everyone, and continued. "We depart immediately." She turned, and began walking. Shigure's arms were dangling at his sides, and his eyes were wide. "...Some woman, eh?" He said a low rumbling voice. "I don't know the woman." He stated flatly. "If anyone would opt out of the group right now, I'd have no qualms, for I cannot guaruntee your safety." He lumbered away from the table, following the woman out of the library.

OOC: I'll make a topic in Saria Town soon. If those plans change, I'll let you know.
