We sort of just toss people into the world. I remember when I first joined, I had no idea how to get to the traveler's hostel. I couldn't even begin.
It took the contact of a member or two to point me in the right direction. Then I found out you could travel with the compass in the upper-right hand corner. Really sorry about that CloudRunner. Did you contact anyone?
Just one quick question: When Hyrule Adventures 3 is finally complete and ready to "launch", will all the HA2 members be notified by email in a similar fassion to the April Fools notification?
I think I might be able to answer that question for RG, actually.
It appears that if the project is to begin, KamakaziPlumber wants the new site to be erected right here. So you need only continue to check HA2 for updates. I'm sure that our administrator would have NO problem sending a mass email to everyone who has ever joined to inform them of the new game.
I also have a question though: Who are we waiting on to start the project?
It seems that everyone is all for it. Who will be the one to start it? If I know Alpha, he's been watching this thread silently. He's the HA2 administrator I mentioned earlier. If anyone has been talking to KamakaziPlumber, it's likely him (of course, I have no problem hunting down KP, and putting him to the blade for answers).
(moves the "Alpha-Symbol" spotlight to the murky night sky)
This is how we call Alpha.

The Alpha Signal?!
AWAY!!!
*runs off*
. . . *walks back into room* "Ooooh, this is where the Alpha Signal was coming from. I see . . ."
Um, hi.
So . . . it appears ZV knows me well.
This is not safe (for him), but I suppose it's useful in this instance, even if I would have liked to keep lurking until Finals are done (next week >>). But it's probably about time I started talking again rather than hiding in the shadows. If nothing else than to thank ZV for answering you guys while I was too busy with school and . . . other projects. Also to answer some comments that have caught my eye.

. . . argh, not you too! *head/desk*
*sigh* Everybody wants more subclasses . . . Sorry, this one's a bit of a sore spot for me -- when I initially started talking with other people about HA3 in a serious sense, one of the things I was really gung-ho about was the idea of ditching classes altogether. The more I go on, the more I find myself thinking them completely unnecessary (especially in light of some of the other ideas I've had for HA3). And yet, no matter how much I tried to push for it, and how many times I argued for my concepts over those of Classes and Subclasses . . . everybody else who's ever worked on HA3 with me is steadfastly opposed to the idea. They're quite like you, Sovelis -- they only want more classes!
Honestly, I can't figure it out any more. I only have one real response for it these days: *head/desk*
Oh, and yay hidden messages! 8D
On a more serious note . . .
CloudrunnerPrince16 wrote:Just one quick question: When Hyrule Adventures 3 is finally complete and ready to "launch", will all the HA2 members be notified by email in a similar fassion to the April Fools notification?
I wouldn't dream of doing it any other way. With so many excellent RPers who no longer visit HA2 consistently, it's really the only way we can hope to get in contact with them (just have to hope that their email addresses haven't changed since they last visited). There will definitely be an email sent out if and when HA3 is opened. Actually, probably a little before. Having the HA2ers beta test the game for us would be a big help.
And now for the big one. Like he said, everyone really does seem in favor of HA3 being made, especially given the lack of activity in our beloved HA2 these days, so . . .
Zelda Veteran wrote:I also have a question though: Who are we waiting on to start the project?
I dunno. To be perfectly honest, it could very well be me. Or you. Or KP. Or even THE GREAT AND ALMIGHTY NARRATOR!
Probably not him, though. That would mean claiming that Jack is at fault, and one does not do that.
Really, there's probably two lists of things that we need right now: a list of things that need to be done to create HA3, and a list of people capable of doing those things (preferably in a timely manner). We've already a nice sized list for the former (though it's probably not complete), but as for people . . . that's a bit trickier to get a handle on. Especially with school and schedules always tying people up.
For now, for you guys reading this thread, all I can really do is reiterate Nogare's query: what do you guys want HA3 to be like, and what do you want it to have? Suggestions are always welcome. I'd much rather have HA3 be a product of all of us HA2ers.

While I cannot possibly hope to answer that question, Alpha, (I have no idea what I want, ever) I can certainly try to outline some things I hope to see happen;
1: EXPOSIONS
But no, seriously. I do enjoy a very vivid, active game, and while EXPOSIONS may not be exactly what I'm asking for, I do want to see more colorful, fluid content here. The quests on HA2 would, more often than not, bore me, and I feel that certain battles took more time than necessary due to complications with the Rule's system (Ghoma, for example took f*cking forever).
2: Continuity. I did discuss this with Nogare briefly, but I don't know his plans, so I'll say mine. I would like it if, at some point (sooner than later, please) we could get the writers who are interested and try to sort through our different stories and see what we'd like to keep as "Hyrule Adventures Canon" and what we should leave behind.
For example, I'd like to keep my original two plots (The Servants of Armageddon set and the Good Kasei era) canon, but not carry them over to HA3, just find a way to intertwine them with all of your stories so that they would make decent sense when being read by new players. The actual Legend of Zelda series does this with it's main games. There's clear variations between each of them but obvious Easter Eggs all over the place, and I feel that if we did this, combining the plots better than before (Alpha and Sovelis did this), we could give this place a real "Zelda" feel.
EDIT: In addition, since I can assume that HA3 will start us over, may I suggest that 'veteran' HA2-ers receive an updated Ghoma medal, to differentiate themselves from newer players?
EX:

A golden medal in the shape of Ghoma. It seems to bear significance.

3: Cohesiveness. This is really more for me and not you guys. I'd really like to get into contact with more than just Nogare (Fun as he is, he's not the entire game) and do some planning. Roleplay, figure out plots, etc. Keeping in touch really does help keep this place together, and I do feel left out when I see you all are keeping in contact with each other and not me. I feel so ronery.
4: SKYWARD. SWORD. IS. AMAZING. That is all.
This has been a public broadcast message from Kasei, Kasei Incorporated and Kasei International. if you have a problem with any form of this message, please IM Kasei so that he can personally tell you to go f*ck yourself.
Nuclear edit: I noticed the 'items' button below our avvies no longer works, and this saddens me. [/img]

That sounds fun. We'll definitely be trying to give you a more, as you put it, colorful experience. Though we are somewhat limited by the text-based format of our beloved RPG, so I can't promise anything too dramatic. At least not yet.
2: Continuity. I did discuss this with Nogare briefly, but I don't know his plans, so I'll say mine. That . . . sounds really awesome actually. I'd love for that to happen. Especially since there's several things in Alpha's storyline that I'd like to see more or less forgotten in the histories of the land.
EDIT: In addition, since I can assume that HA3 will start us over, may I suggest that 'veteran' HA2-ers receive an updated Ghoma medal, to differentiate themselves from newer players?
. . . perhaps.

I like the sound of that. Does everyone have some sort of IM system set up on their computers? If we all had the same one, that'd go a long way towards keeping us connected. I've got a few of you as contacts already, but not nearly all of you, and I don't talk to many of you guys these days either . . . But yes, good suggestion.
4: SKYWARD. SWORD. IS. AMAZING. That is all.
YES. IT. IS!
Nuclear edit: I noticed the 'items' button below our avvies no longer works, and this saddens me. [/img]
. . . oh my gosh, you're right. I'll try to get in touch with KP about this ASAP. That's really not cool . . .

This topic still occasionally notifies me so I've been keeping up when it does, but Alpha brought me here with the Items issue this time.
Regarding that: I have no idea. HA2 is getting seriously old, after all, so it could be anything. Knowing exactly when this started happening would help, but otherwise I'm not sure I can fix it. When I get home in a few days after finals I'll take a closer look.
Regarding everything else: seriously guys, you can PM me or email me or Skype me or whatever whenever you want to contact me. I at least see all of that almost immediately on my phone, and I can respond just as quickly most of the time.
That being said, HA3 can go up as soon as it's ready to go up, although I'd really prefer for that to happen over the break or early next semester or some other time where I won't be swamped with work. I'd almost say that HA3 is actually waiting for everyone, since the most important thing to worry about now is what we want added and changed.
Also: as a point of reference, ZeldaForever talked to me a while back about HA3's technical side. He found out that the mods we use are available again for newer verions of phpBB, so migrating to a newer and better system shouldn't be too hard. So... I guess I'm ready when HA3 is, and sooner is better.

I don't remember tying my stories together that well, more like gumbo than anything that even looked like coherent story telling. I do like the idea of a ghoma medal, and yea, that fight took forever. Especially since I was gone for half the damn fight.

hay guise whats goin on in this thred
Just finished finals, so HA3 is gonna get a lot of work done in the next month or so. Stay tuned for a steady lack of updates as we release absolutely nothing because news media relating to development just makes things harder on us ! Good job spotting that, by the way.

Hey, so, I'm watching everything, and I most definitely have time to contribute to whatever grunt work you need done. Just throwing that out there. I have a Skype, that's the easiest way to contact me. If you need it, just...I dunno, ask I guess. Or I can add it to my profile if possible. If it isn't possible...ask? Yeah.
Umm...yeah, let's get it done.

Yes! Let us flee from this baron wasteland of an adventure!
Other than that random bunch of stuff, Would it be possible to choose between starting a new character and keeping the one we already have?

Originally, the answer to this would have been 'no'. However, the more work we do on the HA3 concept, the more likely it becomes that this'll be a 'yes, but-'. The 'but' won't be anything too major, I think, so I wouldn't worry about it; just be aware that there would be a few special things you'd need to stay constantly aware of if you RPed an HA2 character.
...and before I get anyone's hopes up, I should say that 'the more work we do' isn't referring to any recent developments... People have been pretty busy as of late, I'm afraid. :-/

So it primarily depends on how close HA2 and HA3 are?

im not sure how the game goes, but prehaps turning ha3 into a M.U.D. would keep it going, that is if anyone has the know how to creat such a thing.
if i understand HA2, probebly not since i just joined, fourms rpgs do end prematurly with people having RL things to take care of.
while fourm RP is able to be more creative then M.U.D.s , a M.U.D. does have the abilit yto continue on with mutliple events when the even happens, without having to be locked, or however it happens.
just a thought
prehaps. HA3 could have weapon talents with specific tools and weapons. each race could have special moves or abilites well.
Hylanians could focus light energy into their wepon and lanch it, such as a sword or a bow.
Gorons could roll up into a ball for fast travel and runn over their enemies.
Can't Zora breath underwater in HA2?

Well, I have nothing new to add to the discussion except my messenger information;
kaseidornmosgobi@yahoo.com - Seriously, guys. Message me, chat it up, keep in contact. It doesn't have to be about HA2, it can be anything.
