Braylor dodging ability failed him [4 roll + 8 AGI + 1 INT], and the boulder that hit him in the face dealt him 20 DMG.

Saber is more successful thanks to his sprinting [4 roll + 3 AGI + 4 INT + 5 Sprint], and the rupee that was in the alcove appeared above the empty doorway.

Try as Eberron might, he is unable to find anything that would help them in the situation [10 roll + 1 INT]. Perhaps if he tried again and looked closer....

The final silver rupee was blocked by two of the boulders and in an alcove guarded by a third. Dogura was able to bypass the first one [13 roll + 6 AGI] as well as the second [15 roll + 6 AGI]. The third boulder, however, is his downfall [8 roll + 6 AGI], dealing him 20 DMG. Unlike Darkin, however, he would be unable to fly out of the situation.

OOC: Huh, probably should have waited for a few more people to post....Well, you all have until Sunday to learn from your mistakes and start to get creative with your checks.

After failing his attempt at snagging the rupee, Nier looked around in preparation for the next boulder. [Dodge check] He then saw the silver rupee once again and reached towards it. "Crap, I hate this..." He noticed his companions' attempts end in both success and failure. "Hey, can you help me up?"

I hate the boulders and beamos..

Yes! Got another!

Panting, two brown eyes watched as the fourth silver rupee appeared above the doorway. Only one left, and several adventurers reaching for it.

I suppose I could take it easy now. Well...not so much take it easy as call it quits. I still have to get back.

Stretching a bit and mentally preparing himself, Sabertache took off for the door past the two remaining boulders, wishing the others luck in their rupee-gathering.

Looking closer, Eberron shook his head. All the movement was confusing him. Damn, he wasn't any good at this... But there had to be a solution to this. There had to be. They simply couldn't be moving at completely random speeds, it didn't make sense for them to be doing so. Maybe there was something in the room, something he could find that would make a pattern more clear...

"Anyone? Is there maybe a pattern we can find. I'm getting dizzy just looking but... anybody have a better idea? Something to make it easier for us to get across. I think just throwing ourselves at it will only get us hurt."

Eberron looked down at his side, which was showing clear signs of impact and bruising. Hopefully nothing broken, it didn't feel like it. Grunting in pain, Eberron attempted to move around and let out a small gasp as he forced himself to walk. Ok, so maybe something could be broken... But that wouldn't stop him, he had to get a different angle on this thing. Maybe looking around would reveal something new. He hoped someone else had a bright idea, he really wasn't good with ideas.

Eberron had a good idea, yes, he would copy him. "Right, pattern," Braylor said to the Goron, "... What sort of thing are we looking for." The nomad was a bit confused, but he studied the boulders nonetheless [Awareness Check]. It was better than risking running into one of those boulders again. Those things hurt, and he couldn't afford to let that happen again. If they found something in their studying, then maybe they could prevent some of the others from getting hurt.

Nier once again found himself failing to get past the boulder [4 roll + 3 AGI + 6 INT]; the result is far more serious this time, as the boulder sent him spiralling into unconsciousness.

Saber's sprinting once again saw him through to safety [13 roll + 3 AGI + 4 INT + 5 Sprint]. The final silver rupee appeared over the doorway, and the sound of a chest falling reached their ears.

Eberron fared no better than last time in his attempt to see anything [4 roll + 1 INT]. Braylor did no better [10 roll + 1 INT].

Reaching the door safely, the mercenary laughed and sat, taking a breather. Through some happy twist of fate, he had managed to touch the rupee without even trying, and now all that remained was to get the others ac--oh, well, that one seemed to be dead. Unfortunate, really.

"We've lost one! Don't let it happen to anyone else, now! If the boulders are too hard to pass...well, try and find another way around or something!"

His eyes scanned the others; several looked injured, Eberron foremost. Closing his eyes, the mercenary decided to spend the next few minutes healing his friend. [Favor of the Goddesses on Eberron]

Looking the unfortunate who had been brutally struck down by one of the boulders, Eberron winced as he thought about the possibility of the man's death. Fortunately the blow seemed to have knocked him out of any immediate danger. Hopefully they could get him settled and resting. He didn't look too badly hurt... Though Eberron had always found it difficult to tell with anyone who wasn't a brother Goron. Looking back to Braylor, Eberron sighed and scratched his head thoughtfully.

"Well, I'm not really sure... My first thought was that they must move in a rhythm, like a pattern. Which would mean there was a way we could cross that would give us the most possible time to move without getting hit. That would have helped the slower of us like me... Maybe there is something there but I can't see it."

Eberron stopped and squinted, his eyes straining to discover some hidden secret.

"That's not to say that there isn't. I'm not good with patterns. But I think there might also be some other way AROUND this. Thinking about it, this is an ancient magic used to test speed and agility? What about when testing is over, surely someone would have wanted to pass through here easily. Perhaps there is a hidden switch or a passage or something as well... I don't know, I just think it's worth a thorough investigation before we go running across again. I learnt the hard way that that was stupid for someone as big as me."

Darilan wholeheartedly agreed with Eberron; he wasn't about to risk being pulverized by one of those rocks, not after he saw Nier fall because of them. And there also had to be some way to avoid those rocks. What if someone got trapped in the middle and didn't have enough speed to get out unscathed?

A thought occurred to him. They had seen a Beamos, something that shouldn't have been in this temple. If there were any more monsters or anything in the temple then they would have had to pass through here. It was apparent that they weren't crushed, assuming they were in here. He began searching the ground for tracks that might lead to the safest way out of this room [L3 Track (+5 Bonus to Check)]. Better yet, there might be some tracks from the Gerudos who have trained in this room.

OOC If i'm correct I am still alive.

L began to ponder which possible ways would cause him minamel damage still in pain from his last encounter with the boulder. Eventually he decided to do a Awarness check.

Darkin winced as he watched Dogura fall victim to the boulders. However, he knew that the samurai could handle it. He'd been caught between a rock and a hard spot before. Ha ha... no. Darkin was prepared to get whatever was in the treasure chest. Flapping his wings madly, he took flight, and soared across the room. Landing in font of the treasure chest, he kicked it open, and peered inside.

Dogura struggled free from the boulders, and clutched his ribs as he made way to higher ground. He was hurt, but not too badly. He ached, and was coming to realize that maybe he wasn't ready for another adventure so soon. He joined the ranks of adventurers and awaited Darkin's return.

OOC: Crappy post, and I'm sorry, but I'm a little pressed for time.

OOC: Abel, I am not keeping track of everyone's HP; I have Aria and Katharina's stats to worry about, as well as enemy stats. I'm relying on you to keep track of and post your HP and SPL in every post. You really need to get into that habit, not just for here, but for any topic that the Royal Guard lead. If you don't let everyone know how much HP you have left, then we can't help you if you get into a tight spot.

IC:
Without the pressure of combat on him, Saber's prayer is successfully heard and carried out [6 roll + 4 INT], and Eberron is healed for 26 HP.

Speaking of whom, the Goron once again failed to notice anything useful for their situation [7 roll + 1 INT].

Braylor would have successfully found tracks [15 roll + 1 INT + 5 Track L3] had there been any. Stone does not show tracks very well.

Lawliet is just as successful as Eberron, which wasn't very successful at all [3 roll + 3 INT].

Darkin, having flown over the boulders again, sustained no damage and was able to open the chest to reveal a small, silver key.

"At this rate, we'll never get out of here," Aria said with a sigh; why Nier had to try to get past a boulder when it was rather obvious he wasn't in any condition to do so baffled her to no end.

"Let me see if I can't change that," Katharina replied, also shaking her head at the Hylian's foolishness. She walked over to the edge of the drop and scanned the boulders; they had been rolling along the same paths for hundreds of years. Surely they were the key to getting past them. [Awareness Check; 16 roll + 3 INT]

"These boulders, though appearing solid, are heavily damaged," she reported in a loud enough voice for everyone to hear. "They are severely cracked. I'm sure there's some way we can break them apart."

Feeling the divine healing powers spreading through his body, Eberron turned to see where they had originated from and waved across the room at the man who had decided to aid him. That was really nice.

"Thank you friend!"

Feeling genuinely touched that someone would think to heal him, Eberron reached into his backpack and put aside a particularly fine rock. Perhaps HE would like eating them... No one else seemed to appreciate the texture. Well, he could only see later on.
"They are severely cracked. I'm sure there's some way we can break them apart."
Eberron smiled and nodded his head. These Gerudu's were certainly smart. Why didn't he think of that? Smashing things was what he did! Moving over to stand next to the boulder and Katharina, Eberron smiled cheerfully at her and looked back at the constant rolling movement.

"I don't think it would be safe for some of us to try anything while we're close... we could get hurt. Maybe someone has explosions!"

Thinking back to previous battles he had been in, Eberron had always been impressed by the explosive devices his allies had sometimes used. What were they called again... Booms, Boons, boms, bobs...

"Bombs! We could use bombs! Umm... if anyone has any. That is."

Suddenly looking sad, Eberron looked towards the boulders rolling by and felt a sweeping melancholy fill his heart.

"Though they are fine stone, even if old. It would be sad to stop such fine magic."

Dogura shrugged at the plan for bombs. "I've never carried bombs... Too bulky for me. Honestly, they would slow me down." He felt rather useless at this point. "Hey Darkin, do we have any bombs in the bag?" Darkin was quick to reply. "Didn't pack any. Didn't want any of them to go off and destroy all of our provisions." The samurai took another glance at the moving stone masses. Darkin's hearing was absolute. He knew what was going on in the room, and decided that he might be able to help out with the destruction of the boulders. Darkin landed, and passed the key to Dogura, before clasping his hands together. Alright... Considering the boulders are of different sediments, and earth spell should work just fine here. With a quick motion of his hand, he attempted to break the rock apart from the inside. "Elemental Burst: Earth!"

Bombs, he had bombs. Braylor had found them, in the woods of all places. He guessed that someone careless had let them slip out of their bag without noticing. In any event, they were his now. He was eager to get them off his hands, though. They were probably what slowed him down enough to get hit by that rock earlier. A bomb should be able to make quick work of a damaged rock, but with a moving target, timing was key. He pulled out one of the bombs and lit the fuse. It seemed to take forever as he waited for the fuse to burn more than three quarters of the way. Then, just as it burned down toward the end, he threw the bomb in the rolling boulder's path.
