Tarlen once again finds himself standing in the center of the arena after another match has been completed, with one contestant wheeled away to the hospital and the other proudly awaiting the second round. And though the next round of fights promises to be even more enthralling than the preliminary round, the Rito finds himself actually thinking that should the fights get much more intense, he'll have difficulty announcing them! That brings a laugh to his throat and out into the air.

Waving his hands for the crowd's attention, he waits for them to quiet slightly before beginning his next words. "And what a match! We've had magic battling against skilled swordsmen and women for the past two rounds, and the excitement in the air has been almost tangible - trust me on this, I've been flying through it this entire time." That draws forth a few chuckles from the onlookers.

"And now it's time to introduce our next two competitors, two warriors who are sure to give us just as great a fight as the ones we've seen already today! Please, join me in welcoming our next two fighters!" He waves one hand towards the approaching Hylian. "For our third fight, we'll be watching two skilled in the use of daggers - that's right, two Vagabonds! In fact, two Rangers! First up is the mysterious Hylian samurai, Dogura!" His other hand waves towards the coming Sheikah. "And now, the Sheikah ranger from the east, Worru!"

"Now my friends," Tarlen says once the two are on stage, while he himself hops backwards to get out of their way. "You may begin when ready!"

Dogura passed through the gates, excitement, and ambition gripping every fiber of his being. He entered the arena, and gaped at the large crowd. Their cheering had better not throw off my concentration... The samurai thought, proceeding to the center of the arena. At that moment, he remembered that Darkin, Norog, and Alex should be somewhere up in the stands. The vagabond scanned the stands for a good 20 seconds, before resting his eyes on the large Goron who he had known as Norog. Next to him, sat Darkin, who gave Dogura the thumbs up. Dogura nodded to his feathered friend, and smiled. He had been awaiting the moment that his apprentice would see him do combat; but there was a slight problem. His apprentice was nowhere to be found! The samurai didn't see Alex anywhere! Dogura looked back to Darkin, who shrugged in an overly dramatic fashion.

Dogura looked back to the center of the arena, where his opponent stood. Perhaps I was a bit to hard on the boy... I only wish he could be here to watch my match... I've been too stern. In place of thoughts of combat, those thoughts floated through his mind, clouding his ambition for victory. Finally, Dogura drew his sword. It gleamed, happy to be free of it's sheath after such a chronic wait for combat. The samurai looked his opponent square in the eye. "So you're the one I'm gonna take down huh?" Dogura sneered. He had seen the man once, but it had been a long time since he last encountered him. So you're a Vagabond too... Let us see which of us is worthy of the name. The samurai seemed relaxed, and loosened up for his battle. Just when he seemed to yawn, he shot from his position, sword aimed for the man's chest. He positioned his sword, so that he would miss any vital organs. He didn't want to kill his opponent, he just wanted to win this match and proceed to the further rounds. Finally, when he was close enough, he thrusted his sword forward. Still, he couldn't help but wish that his apprentice was here to see him do combat...

OOC: Alright, lets get this show on the road! :D

Dogura flashes forward at incredible speed, beginning the match strong. "Dogura is a samurai, and it seems his type aren't the kind to waste any time!" the announcer shouts as the warrior closes the distance. However, his attack does not hit its target; Worru is able to avoid it just in time (9+6[Roll+AGI] vs. 13+6[DEF+AGI]).

Worru was amazed he was able to dodge the samurai's strike. He was also amazed that he was fighting Dogura in the first place. He hadn't read the match postings before he came to the tournament, and hadn't trained either. He just hoped he had enough dumb luck stashed away that he could use.

After the initial shock had worn away, he quickly drew two daggers (dual weild lv2) and put himself into a fighting stance. He had to fight this guy the best he could, and these daggers were the only thing he could get past the ref with. As the samurai did before him, Worru dashed at his highest speed, hoping to land a hit.

Worru's intent to copy his fellow Ranger's previous attack is apparently taken a little bit too far. Even as his twin blades slash through the air straight at Dogura, the samurai utilizes his impressive training to slip right through the attack, emerging from Worru's assault unscathed (4+6[Roll+AGI] vs. 13+6[DEF+AGI]). "What an impressive start!" Tarlen shouts from above. "They seem to be even matched right now! But can one of them tip the balance in their favor?!"

Dogura couldn't believe that Worru was able to dodge his attack. Dogura was already off balance after the missed strike, and it would have been a perfect chance for his opponent to counter. And thats exactly what he did. Worru had taken advantage of the missed attack, and had drawn another weapon to strike with! Dogura somehow managed to dodge the counter-strike, as he swivled around the man on one foot, gracefully avoiding his opponent's weapons. Now it was Dogura's turn to retaliate! "You're not getting away from me this time!!" Dogura cried out, drawing his secondary weapon: his wolf-head dagger! The samurai wasn't about to let his opponent slip past him again. He thrusted his sword forward, and brought his dagger around the side in a clean arc. This is an attack that Dogura had perfected during some personal training, however, he had only had the chance to use it once in a previous battle. If this hit it's target, it would definately leave mark that Worru wouldn't soon forget...

Dogura flashes forward, pulling out his second blade to the shock of the crowd. "Well, well! Looks like our samurai friend's got a few more tricks up his sleeve!" Empowered by his training and his sheer will to make contact with the Sheikah, Dogura's swords find their mark at last (11+6+4[Roll+AGI+WILL]), ripping into Worru's skin and throwing him back as a mighty 16 DMG to him.

"Woah, now that was one heck of an attack! And it looks like we've finally gotten a clean hit on one of the contestants, too! Can Worru come back from that strike, or is this going to be the beginning of the end for this adventurer?!"

Worru was threwn across the arena, finally landing with a resounding "THUNK". Slowly rising, Worru panted, exhausted by the attack, but regained his compsure, as he still had a fighting chance, that fire in his belly..."URP!" No...that was his lunch, actually. Sorry for the mix-up there.

Worru shook his body, some drops of blood falling on the ground around him. They better not bill me for that... he thought to himself, feeling some happiness, even after the blow he had recieved. Then, it hit him. He remembered something he had seen in the first fight. What was it called again? Elemental Burst? Don't I have that one? Best to try it out... he thought. He held out his hand, and tried to get the energy together. He was inexperianced in the spell, not having used it once, and knew nothing of resistances or weaknesses, so he said the first thing that came to mind. "Elemental Burst, Fire!" he yelled, just hoping that it would form, otherwise he was making a fool of himself in public, and he liked to do that in private.

Worru's Elemental Burst forms with a brilliant crimson flash, energy coursing around his hands as the element of fire is manipulated into the magical orb. "Hey now, wait up just one second! Looks to me like Dogura isn't the only one with secrets yet to be revealed!" Tarlen yells as he flaps his wings and climbs higher, trying to get out of the way of the heated strike.

As it launches forward, Dogura finds himself directly in its path. The flames barely manage to get around his defenses, but get around his defenses they do, dealing a clean 14 DMG to the Hylian.

The samurai saw the blast headed his way, but it's range was too wide to evade. It struck him head on, but he held fast, using what little magical power he possessed to anchor him to the ground. When the flames cleared, Dogura was in the same spot that the flames engulfed him in. He lowered his hands from the defensive position, and stared at his oppoent. He uses magics huh?... I guess great a battle was never won without a scrape on the knee... Finally, Dogura stood up, and smiled. The pain didn't bother him. He had been taught to withstand magics, and he was glad to have that under his belt. "So you like to play with fire huh?" Dogura called out to Worru. The samurai clasped his hands together, and began penting up heat within his lungs. "You know what they say... You play with fire, and you're going to get burned!"

Practicing with Darkin before hand was vital to his success with the technique. While he hadn't perfected it, he was confident in his ability. Darkin stood up in his seat. "He's going to do it!" He grabbed Norog by the shirt, and yanked him around. "I taught him that! Look! Look! Look!" Dogura had finally heated up to the point where he was beginning to sweat. "Ki-Kaze!" He cried out, reaching into a tan colored hip-sack. He removed a fine powder, and held it in his hand. Dogura leaned back, as his chest expanded, and then recoiled back forward, exhaleing with all his Hylian might! Holding the powder up to his chin, the heated air and gasses passed over the powder, and produced a magnificent flame!

OOC: Just so you know RG, this is just a fancy way of using my Fire Scroll. Its the same way I substitute my sword for the Dagger's damage.

Just as Worru's Elemental Burst had charged forward and enveloped Dogura, so too does the fiery magic from the samurai erupt forth from the Hylian's spell. And yet, Worru miraculously manages to avoid it somewhat (16+1[Roll+SPI] vs. 15) and takes only half of the damage. The ranger of the east loses 9 HP from the attack.

Worru, even though he was hurt by the fire that the samurai blew, stood dumbfounded. "Woah...That was awesome..." he said, staring wide-eyed at Dogura, before snapping back to reality. Not a good thing to be dumbfounded when in a fight. He gripped his daggers again, than charged at the samurai once more.

Worru was sure that he couldn't use Elemental Burst a lot of times, and only used it so he could land a hit. He would use it again, if given the chance, but tried to plan for the no-easy-chances scenario.

Worru's charge takes him quickly to within reach of Dogura. "And after a brief display of each contestant's magical abilities, it looks like we'll be returning to the realm of close range fighting!" Tarlen cries from high above the stadium. "Always a favorite of mine - at this level of fighting you can be sure there'll be some impressive strikes and miraculous dodges!"

In this event, the second case is applied as Dogura manages to once again slip out of the way of both of Worru's blades (6+6[Roll+AGI]), making it away from the sharp daggers without taking damage.

Dogura watched as Worru prepared to charge him again. Reading his foes mind, he was able to predict exactly where he would strike. Just as the samurai mentally calculated his foe's attack pattern, Worru put it into motion. The samurai leaned backwards, avoiding the two daggers, and leaned back forward in a recoil, unsheathing both of his weapons. In a mortal draw fashion, Dogura swept both of his blades outward to slash his opponent across the stomach. Dogura winced in pain, as the afterburner of Worru's earlier attack gripped his chared elbow. [Dual Wield L2]

Dogura's blades flash forward in point blank range, the dual wielded blades lancing out in mortal draw style and barely managing to slip through Worru's hastily erected guard (13+6[Roll+AGI]). But get past they do, and the samurai slashes straight into his fellow ranger's stomach exactly as planned. "Oooh, that one's gotta hurt!" Tarlen cries. "Good thing those two are wearing some good armor, otherwise that kind of attack could be instantly fatal!" Another 16 DMG is done to Worru.
