OOC: Ryokiden's theme

IC: It was a tranquil day, the birds singing, the wind supplying a cool and calm breeze, and sun not too hot or cold, and the trees creating the right amount of shade. It was a day made for relaxing, made for choosing a nice spot to sit down, read a book, or just fall asleep.

Now, then, that is a common way for most people to relax. Some people, or in that matter, some daemons decide to relax in very, very different ways.

This way, being that of complete and total destruction.

Ryokiden ran around on all fours, both hands and feet in their claw form, allowing him to be ambidextrous both above, and below. Those same claws, sharp as he wanted them, ripped through the ground, sending clumps of dirt, halves and thirds of the bugs and worms below them as well, behind him in his wake. This path of insanity, this rampage of sure-fire derangitude, was also a sign of happiness for the daemon, as can be seen in those rare flashes of red when he streaks by, as if there was someone who was stupid enough to go within a ten yard radius of the sharp blades Ryk had for hands, and toes at the moment.

But, as we all know, even something like him had to rest, and he did so by climbing up onto a low branch of a tree, one that was only two or three feet of the ground already. He rested his claws behind his head, before closing his eyes, crossing his legs, and apparently going to sleep.

"Mrrrow?" Sauron the hellcat ran ahead of Seth and Arrika and climbed up the tree after Ryk in a dark blur, his thick fox-like tail waving like a squirrel's. The Twili cat leaped onto Ryk's head, pawing his head and cocking his head to the side quizzically. It meowed again, as if calling Seth and Arrika to hurry up and explain who the destructive stranger was.

"Woah- What happened here?" Arrika said as she jogged up, the shredded ground an odd sight.

"He did it," Seth said simply, pointing to Ryk, who seemed to be asleep.

"Is he really sleeping? Sauron, get down right now!" Arrika called. The cat meowed in reply and went back to sniffing Ryk's head.

"For your information, I don't sleep. I'm just doing this so something can come, and I can have something to eat." he said, before leaping up, and landing on all fours in the tree, stance like that of a frog, before opening his mouth, and barking at the cat.

Once that little display of anger towards...just about all members of any feline species, Ryk stopped barking, lifted one clawed hand-foot to his ear, and scratched, furthering his canine simularities. He stopped that soon, went down to the ground, and went up to the two people. "'Ey, don't I know one of you?" he asked.

Sauron hissed and clawed at Ryk's face before dashing down the tree and into Seth's arms. Seth looked at the dog-like Ryk with an annoyed and protective expression on his face, as if by barking at his cat he had insulted Seth to his face.

"He's talking about you," Seth said, prodding Arrika forward.

"Erm... you need a way to relieve your stress or something?" Arrika said, referring to the ground.

Ryk almost broke out in laughter. "Stress? Me? Never! This is my way of relaxing!" he bellowed, happy as can be. He did a small handstand, letting the claws on his feet grab on to the branch above him, holding him like a monkey in the jungle. "And, Reader, I'm part dog. If there's a cat around, I'm going to bark at it, like it or not." he said, to Seth, before rubbing his chin with his right claw as he began to think.

"Now, why are you bothering me while I'm relaxing?" he asked, once he was finished.

"I could ask you the same thing..." Came a voice from higher up in the tree. Saber was a few branches up, laying lengthwise on a branch with his head propped up on one elbow, staring quizzically at Ryk. "I was just enjoying a nice nap here before I continued hunting squirrels, and what do you suppose wakes me up? Some odd man carving us a pond. That's a strange way of relaxing, I must say...but still, to each his own." The mercenary finish, before rolling onto his back with a sigh and trying to resume his rest.

Sauron seemed to find Saber interesting and scrambled back up the tree and onto the mercenary's lap. "Mrrrow?" He said, nudging Saber's hand with his head, wanting to be petted.

"Hiya, Saber. What's up?" Arrika said brightly.

"Here goes another gathering around another tree," Seth said dully, making a face.

Ryk looked up, but then turned back to Seth, deciding that the boy was going to be more interesting then the mercenary. "'Ey, kid, think fast!" he said with a grin, as both of his clawed hands went into the sleeves of the trenchcoat he wore, and out came daggers, which were aimed at the boy's feet.

Seth had already forseen Ryk's attack a few seconds before and took two steps back, the daggers plunging into the ground uselessly. He looked up at Ryk with a bored expression on his face. "I see you've still got plenty of energy."

Arrika made a face but didn't think Ryk had actually tried to hurt Seth. Sauron looked down at Ryk and hissed, his lamp-like eyes glowing hypnotically as his fur bristled.

Saber opened one eye as the cat begged for his attention, and he obliged without even thinking about it, running his hand down the feline's furry back repetitively. It was very relaxing...He probably would have fallen asleep if it weren't for the fact that he had a hyperactive hybrid but a few branches below him. He rolled his head onto its side and watched him hurl the daggers, an eyebrow raised, his palm still stroking the cat on his lap. That was...odd. People don't usually attack others out of nowhere.

Ryk grinned, though one of his closed eyes had begun to twitch. "Kid, I'm going to kill you one day, and I promise you, you won't be able to see it." he said, before letting go of the branch above him, and laying back on the one he had earlier. His hands went back once more into his trenchcoat, and he shot more daggers into the higher parts of the tree, trying to his the cat.

Sauron's eyes glowed and the knives were deflected as if by some invisible barrier, falling to the ground harmlessly.

Seth snorted, saying, "I can't wait."

Arrika had a feeling Ryk wasn't just playing around with Seth or his precious cat, but doubted the hybrid had anything to do with Seth's demise, which the psychic had forseen long ago. "So, Saber," she said instead, "How's your day been so far?"

"Gah!" Saber grunted as he tried to scramble from the tree with the daggers zooming forwards. Thankfully, some magical force or other retarded their path, and he settled down, his arms folded beneath him and raising his body slightly. He sighed and closed his eyes again. Why must people insist on increasing each other's tension wherever they go? We've got another fine set of gentlemen yanking at the leash to get at each other...One of them more literally than the other. He thought wryly before hearing Arrika's query. "Well, it's been fine. I haven't had any work, but I haven't had any rest either." He said with a noticeable tone of irritability in his voice.

"Well, sor~ry! I just get my own body after some-odd years of not having one, so I believe I'm allowed some relaxation of my own!" yelled Ryokiden, laying on his back still, but his arms crossed now. "And, besides, at least you people can sleep. I can only hibernate or somethin' like that." he added, turning his head to the side, hiding it from the others.

"Isn't that... the same thing?" Arrika asked. "I mean, like bears or whatever hibernate too, it's just sleeping for long periods of time. But it's still a form of sleeping."

Sauron hopped down from his spot onto Ryk's head, clawing into his scalp before touching the ground on his dainty paws.

"Hm, Saber, why not go on a sort of vacation now? Before you know it business will start booming and you'll never have a moment's rest, right?" The Sheikah continued with a smile.
