Standing at one end of the festivities is a peculiar man. His large, tickly red mustache hides his mouth, and his rotund form is clothed with a light tan, almost bone-colored jacket with many pockets, some with vials poking out of the flaps. A small, short-brimmed round hat sits snugly atop his small patch of messy red hair, and his small, beady eyes are magnified tenfold by his large, round spectacles perched on his comically round nose on his even more comically pear-shaped face. In one dirty gloved hand he holds a piece of parchment with a few scribbles on it, and in the other he holds a clipped rose with ink on its stem end. By his side are two Gorons, sleeping while sitting on piles of wood.

OOC: Yes, he's going to refer to you by these names. Figure this event ought to be fun, yeah? Also, let's try to keep it to main characters. Maybe in some cases have an NPC in place, but only one character per person, and no overpowered ones. This will involve stats, by the way.

Ever eager Aiden approaches the man with a cheery smile. Noticing the sleeping ones she makes no noise and just waves her hand in a 'hello'. His red mustache intrigues her, her bright eyes glued to it. Never had she seen anything quite like that...

Worru walks up to the man as well, his mother and daughter having left him to go play games and eat, but instead of being quiet and not doing much to get attention, he bellowed a loud "Hello!", with a smile all his own.

Orpheous wondered up, still nibbling on the small fraction of cake left on his plate, still unable to find anybody after he ditched them to get his precious ... I mean ... cake. Thinking the man looked important, he walked up to him, intrigued. It looked like he might be making a list. "Salutations, my good man. Might I ask what you are doing?" He was so intrigued that he forgot about Aiden and Worru standing right by him.

"Oooooh!" Aria said as she dragged Denkou closer to the man. "Look! It's a man with wierd hair!" The girl exclaimed. "Hey, mister! What ya doin?" The shiekah asked as she tried to poke the man. Denkou looked at the others assembled. "Nice festival, eh? Even Orph decided to show up!"

The odd man squealed with delight as the plethora of adventurers approached him--yes, literally squealed like a pig. He completely ignored every comment about his appearance in his rush to answer Orpheous' question--his reason for being here. Whatever it was, it must have been important, judging by the excitement he posessed. "Hem. Well, you see, young man, I'm recruiting for a mission! Yes, a very important mission it is! See, though I may not look the part, I'm a botanist by trade! Yes, quite! Plants are my occupation! Hem!" He wiped his nose quickly with an extended finger before continuing. "See, I work on making all sorts of, hem, concoctions with plants and other substances. One day while I was busy at work making an ear-shrinking potion by mixing a substantial amount of liverwort with a pound of solid frozen caramel, I was approached by one of the King's men with a corpse. Yes, very frightening at first, I thought I was under arrest! However, it was the corpse of a bird, and in its stomach they had found a most peculiar thing; a seed. Hem! Yes, a small, hard seed that seemed to be indigestible. I examined it myself, and was quite taken aback--it was one of the legendary seeds! They were thought not to grow in Hyrule, surely the bird had migrated from Labrynna. But no! It was too young to have flown far yet. That meant that the seeds were here! Yes, hem, imagine my excitement!" His excitement was only too easy to imagine as his glasses nearly dropped off the end of his bulbous nose.

"So, I immediately went to work, studying the seeds all I could. I believe I have narrowed it down to one location--quite a fearful one, I assure you! Ahem-hem! It is very likely that the seeds will be well...defended. Me and my Goron apprentices," He indicated the dozers over his shoulder. "are going to try and build a station near the seeds, so that we may harvest and ship them back to me. However, none of us are the most skilled at survival, and it could take us a while to find the exact location of the seeds. And you know what they say, there's safety in numbers! Hem, so we've been looking for escorts, and we hypothesized that the place we were most likely to find able bodied adventurers is at the festival celebrating them!" He pushed his glasses back up to the top of his nose, his eyes magnified again as he gazed expectingly at the group. Who would step up?

Aiden listened to the man eagerly, although sometimes she cou;dn't hear what he'd said over her own snickering. He was a silly man, and very.. excitable. Once she heard about the young bird's death however, she grew serious. The poor thing, she hated the thought of a fluffy little bird being killed all because it ate the wrong seed. Wait, this man was excited about seeds.. her smile grew once more but she made no comment, maybe seeds was a perfectly exciting thing around here.

If the man needed helo she wouldn't hesitate, besides it would be a time for her to learn all sorts of new things! "I'll be more than willing to help... but what is so.. legendary about the seeds?" Looking at the group around her she flushed, was it too dumb of a question? Looking at her shoes she thought everyone would laugh at her stupidity.

"Seeds once believed to be only from Holodrum and Labrynna. They possess magical qualities. This man here, this botanist, is suggesting that there is a tree growing here in Hyrule," stated Orpheous, after remaining silent for a few seconds. Then, to the botanist, he continued, "I may only be a scribe, but I want to assist you in your quest. I am intelligent, and I am somewhat skilled in combat. I would also love to investigate this tree. So, could I please assist you, Mr..." Then, after pausing for a few seconds, he asked, "What is your name again?"

Aria had wandered off before she could hear the man's story. Denkou, on the other hand, heard every word of it, and the possibility of getting even one of those seeds triggered his head. "I've heard of some of these seeds, though I think there's a few i'm unfamiliar with. I know about the Ember, Pegasus and Gale seeds. Are their any that I missed? I'll be happy to help you with this!"

The boy Worru scratched his head as the other adventurers talked about how they'd want to aid the botanist, as well as their own questions about different things the adventure might entail for them. As he remembered his own skills, memories of his earlier adventures and quests, it was then did the hybrid start to believe that he might not be that useful to what seems to be an important job...

Then Worru slapped himself, and thusly realized that he would never know unless he tried. He smiled, and rubbed the back of his head nonchalantly, as he then smiled. "I might be of some help. I'm a ranger."

"If survival is a vital part of the job, you might want me in the party." Came a voice from the back of the group. Saber walked into sight of the botanist; he had been listening from behind the growing crowd. "Especially if this mission is taking place in the desert. The desert is...well, I suppose it's my territory of sorts. Finding food, tracking...I've learned it all. You'll be safe with me to help." He rapped his knuckles on his saber hilt with his left hand, his right hand brushing his hair aside to reveal his oft-hidden eye for a few moments. "When do you expect to leave?" The mercenary had already decided; no matter the details, this was a job for him.

"Unnnnngnggggg" A low grown escapes the Zora's chapped lips, as he awkwardly stumbles into the crowd. Taint over-dramatically fell to the ground in front of the man. "Hey man... If you'll give me some water, and some food on the way, I'll go anywhere you want me to." The Zora then noticed the man's odd stature, and scrutinized his features. Getting to his feet, he leaned in close and studied the man. "Hey... You look kind of like a cartoon drawing!" Taint hardly ever realized his lack of manners until he was scolded for it. However, due to a certain charm and charisma about him, hardly anyone found it possible to yell at him, much less stay mad at him. Somehow using that charisma and his ability to hunt for food, he gets by on next to nothing. "As long as I'm well fed, I'll go on any adventure you want, believe it buddy."

The botanist breaks into a sweat as the group's size increases even more, a vein in his gelatinous neck pulsing as his excitement doubles. He takes all questions about the seeds in one, leaning towards the group as he rants on his favorite subject. "Hem, now there are actually very many legendary seeds. However, it is likely that many of these are mere myths or concoctions of some sort. I, for one, didn't believe in them at all, hem, quite! However, after comparing the seed in the bird's belly to some sketches in a book, I could say with almost thirteen percent certainty that is was an Ember seed! Oh, the mixtures I could make with the combustible bullet!" He looked to the sky and sighed for a moment, then his head shot down, his eyes boring into Orpheous. "However, I find it highly doubtful that these seeds will be on a tree. You see, this bird was found in the desert--and the desert is no place for arbor. No...these seeds must be a bit more adaptable than we at first thought. Hem, indeed!"

Once he finished with his short spiel, he turned to the newcomers. "We'll be leaving in but a few days, if not sooner, and there will be plenty of supplies for all who come. Perhaps even more, if what our nomadic friend here says is true. Ahem-hem!" He holds up his pad and writing rose and begans to write in big, loopy writing. "Yes...I'll just sign you all up then...now, I don't much care for learning your names, really, as we'll only be working a short while. So I'll just think of something to call you, agree? Hem, of course you do." His head shoots up for a few seconds. "Did one of you ask for my name a while ago? I believe I forgot, due to my lecture. Ahem! Well, I suppose you may all call me Mr. Vore. Herbie Vore being the full name and all that." With his short introduction, he begans writing on his pad, noting down all the adventurers who had agreed to help under whatever pseudonym he deemed appropriate.

What a hypocrite. Denkou thinks to himself. He says that he doesn't want to know our names, but then goes and reveals his own? Has he ever heard of manners? The thief, however, is delighted to learn that there may be many other seeds like this one, but then another thought crosses his mind. "Wait a second, mister Carny Vore, did you say that you were thirteen percent certain that that is an ember seed? That's not a really good percentage, if you know what i'm saying. Why not try it out?" He suggested, thinking that, if it was an ember seed, the poor doctor might burn himself, as Denkou had been burned by Kasei numerous times.

He also noticed the hungry Zora who had appeared, as well as Sabertache. Of course, Denkou knew Saber through a common ally, and was positive that he was not going to get along well with the mercinary. The zora, on the other hand, might prove to be a very . . . enterprising relationship.

But on a serious note, can you change the name? I have a personal issue with that name. Father issues, won't say more.

Aiden had watched the man eagerly, but was distracted by two things, one her good friend Saber, and two, a zora!! With a SQUEE, she spun to face Sbaer then froze.. "Fish..?" Her eyes were wide and twinkled adoringly, Zora were her favorite creatures to hear about. Gorons were cool, fairies intriguing, and deku different, but Zora.. Looking at the Zora she gasped in aw as the guy fell. With a whimper she studied the man, well it was not 'Fish,' but maybe he'd be more apt to be friends! She even giggled at his joke, although she knew not of what he spoke, but his tone was enough to tickle her funny bone.

Looking once to Saber, almost as if checking herself, like how a child will look to their father before taking a piece of candy from the shelf. Before she could scrutinize his gaze her head spun around, her hair flying every which way. "You'll be going too?!" Her smile was so big it lit up her whole face, she would get to learn about Zora! Maybe even befriend him!! All her previous embarressment was gone, forgotten in her happiness.
