I have a Skarmory with Toxic, Drill Peck, Steel Wing, and... some other move. Fly, I think.

Anyways, I love to use it, it's hard to kill.

Bboy94

I remember my perfect team, on my first Ruby( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( NEVER GO TO PERKINS, THEY STEAL GAMES), Swapert(ftw), Skarmory, Agron, Mightyena, Gyarados, and some electric type I can't remember, and I think I sometimes swapped out for a Torkoal, but it mighta been a different fire type.

Gamefreak

Swampert was easily the best starter for R/S/E.  It was Water/Ground if I remember correctly, making it immune to it's primary weakness, lightning.  However, it became weaker to Grass types.

darkphantomime

HAH! Blazekin was KING! That thing could easily withstand an earthquake, a feat for a LOT of fire types (Except for Charizard...)

I believe there's another pokemon that's Water/Ground. I think it was Quagmire.

Anyway, if a rock type came out, use SKY UPPERCUT! If a grounder came out, use SKY UPPERCUT! If some weak guy came out and had some time to buy, use that special move that doubles attack AND defense. (Well, not double, just increase)

Bboy94

Yeah, Blaziken was ok, so I got it in Emerald.

Gamefreak

I usually prefer the fire starter above all else when I'm starting the game, but Blaziken's Fire/Fighting setup created more problems than it solved.

darkphantomime

*scoffs* says you. Medichan and Blaziken FTW! And besides, combo pokemon can do wonders. I know it's not perfect, but it  can do quite a bit of damage... And Swampert is overused.

MasterKeyX

No, you see, Blaziken was weak against psychic., This was a significant disadvantage. I agree with Gamefreak, Blaziken's double type created many more issues than it solved.

And, with Swampert, he was doubl weak to grass and weak to Ice becuase of his types.

And I think we can all agree that Sceptile sucked.

MagmarFire

Well, I chose Sceptile as my starter in Ruby. I don't think he sucks. ;)

Advanceshipping and Rion had better be Chuck Norris approved.

darkphantomime

BAH! Who cares about psychics? You don't need to worry about them. Just switch Blaziken out and... Send out...

METAGROSS! GO1

Who cares about the psychic type? Bah... I am really getting sick of not being able to use a certain type of pokemon because ZOMG WTF!!11111111111 PSYCHICS PWN J00000000000000!!!!!11111111111

Fishalicious

Blaziken is a life-saver in the Elite Four, so is Swampert. Though I do like Blaziken more, I don't have to train another fighting type. Swampert has the Ground/Water slots filled, but I like to use Aggron and Walrein instead.

Sceptile is cool, but grass types aren't really all that great. Mine was a life-saver in Emerald, though. The final battle is water type almost exclusively.

MasterKeyX

Grass types suck cause they are weak against:

Ice, Flying, Fire, and sometimes Psychic if they are half poison. Not to mention they usually have a very bad move set.

Fishalicious

Well yeah, grass types suck. Sceptile had the worst stats... But I love lizards, so... :3; (then again, mudskippers and Chickens are also high on my list of awesomeness.) Oh, and chickens eat lizards, and lizards eat fish (sometimes), so it's sort of like the food chain with the starters. I'm sure there's a fish that eats chickens... >w>

Not just a shark, there's countless other fish that would gladly make a meal out of a chicken. Of course, it would eat lizards too and destroy what I just said about the food chain with pokermans.
