Who do you think is more evil, its a tough choice for me, cause one takes your money, and they other tryies to kill ya...

IronKnuckle

Okaaaaaay. Tingle is annoying and greedy, but I wouldn't consider him evil, much less evil enough to compare with Ganon.

Fishalicious

I choose Gannon.

I mean, you're right; Tingle and Gannon are on the same level of evil. We all know stealing force gems is the same thing as trying to steal the Triforce and lead Hyrule to ruin.

MatthewThief

tingle stole my ruppes, he is evil

Gamefreak

Tingle's in your walletz, stealing ur rupeez!

And be cautious that LadyNintendo and Hi no Seijin don't see this topic.

*gasp* *shoves topic under a rug* heheh there

Gamefreak

And Sora is now Gannon-banned for using the term Gannon to describe the King of Evil in general.

Zoratunic

All it takes is one little glance at the article TDC has on how Tingle really is evil.

I was trying to ignore it.  I guess I failed.

Before I leave this idiotic topic forever:

Oh noes!  Tingle is trying to start a business!  He must be killed![/sarcasm]

Honestly, Tingle taking your money is a lame a** excuse to label him evil and/or hate him.  It would be like hating McDonald's because they make you pay for your meal when you go there to eat.  True, Tingle's fees are quite hefty in TWW, but that suggests that he has a monopoly on the whole chart deciphering business, which pretty much means he can charge whatever he wants.  Maybe he charges hundreds of rupees to help pay off student loans from Chart Deciphering University.  Higher education isn't cheap, you know.  Besides, given that rupees are apparently limitless in the land of Hyrule, what's an hour or so of tedious collecting if the end result is you saving Hyrule?  Also, given that you get most of your supplies for free, who needs to shop in Hyrule?  With all those rupees and items in the field, it's a wonder Hyrule isn't in an economic crisis.

Yes, if Tingle is so evil for opening a shop, then what makes him any more evil than any other shop keeper in Hyrule, Holodrum, or Labrynna?

Everyone else's prices are fair, and don't reqiure long hours of rupee searching.

DW

Ahem? Magic Armor? Ring a bell?

Hi no Seijin

*points to above post*

Are you familiar with the concept of a monopoly?  Tingle's prices are large; I won't deny that.  But we don't know his reasoning for charging so much.  Considering that Tingle's biggest dream is to be a faerie and that faeries are pure-hearted creatures, he most likely has very good reasons why his chart deciphering business is expensive.  Besides, that's just TWW.  In MM, maps were 20 rupees; 40 if you bought a map for a different region.  In OoA, he doesn't even charge you rupees for the Sea Chart.  In TMC, he just fuses Kinstones with you.  And in FSA, Force Gems just lay around, so even when a monster knocks them away from you, they're fair game to everyone, including Tingle.  And Shika brings up a good point.  Magic Armor eats away at your rupees, and I don't hear anyone declaring that evil.

I really tried to stay out of this topic, I really did, but this is just ridiculous.

Who cares what the reason is? The fact is he still charges a lot of money. Taking advantage of people with your monopoly is a pretty dickish thing to do.

QuoteConsidering that Tingle's biggest dream is to be a faerie and that faeries are pure-hearted creatures, he most likely has very good reasons why his chart deciphering business is expensive.

Well, he's obviously insane, so that might give you an answer. And fairies are not "pure-hearted creatures" either.

I was unaware that somone had to hate every single incarnation of Tingle. Guess that makes 'em a hypocrite, huh?

QuoteAnd in FSA, Force Gems just lay around, so even when a monster knocks them away from you, they're fair game to everyone, including Tingle.

And you completely gloss over the fact that he tries to steal them from you.

QuoteAnd Shika brings up a good point.  Magic Armor eats away at your rupees, and I don't hear anyone declaring that evil.

1) That's completely different. The Magic Armor is a completely optional item with which you have the option to use it...optionally. Deciphering the Triforce Charts is required to advance the plot.
2) The Magic Armor sucks. Worthless piece of crap.

And is everybody forgetting the fact that he has slaves? That's...that's not right at all.

And is everybody forgetting the fact that he has slaves? That's...that's not right at all.

To quote Wiki:

"Although identical to Tingle and his brothers, David Jr. is actually a normal person from Windfall Island. After getting shipwrecked on Tingle Island, he was set to work to turn the wheel. Unenthusiastic about his role, he does it anyway, although he is prone to complaining."

So, he can leave at any point. He just chooses to do it anyway, just complains a lot. And even then, it would be only one slave; Ankle chooses to do it by his own will, to support his brother, Knuckle.

Sure, Tingle can be a bit of an ** when it comes to making his brother work, but... siblings are like that.
