so today, someone on our squad got MRSA
(an EXTEMELY DEADLY SKIN EATING STAPH INFECTION that EATS YOUR SKIN)
and we weren't allowed into our lockers to get our stuff because it could be infected. IM SUPER MAD RIGHT NOW because my i-pod, makeup, hair straightner, athletic shoes, clothes and alot of other things are in my bag in my locker. if the infection is found on it there going to.. to... DESPOSE OF IT ALL!!! NOOOOOO!!! :'( but what sucks the most is that i came into direct contact with it this morning at practice...

Yeah, that MRSA is some nasty stuff. I'd take a shower or something right now just to be safe, if I were you. A really thorough one too. You can never be too careful, you know.

Edit: Oh, and probably tell somebody about that, assuming you already didn't. ;)

and the whole school knows, they sent out a letter :-* but what sux is i dunno WHO actually HAS IT. allllll 16 girls on our squad were there today, so i cam in direct contact with it.

They actually let everybody come in contact with someone they know to be infected with MRSA? That's...sick. :o

The good thing is, it's hard to get infected with it. Most of us carry it without getting it. It gets in through cuts and stuff...

But a so-so thing...would probably be that the death rate is only, like, 20%. Yeah, it is pretty high, but the thing is that it's not entirely accurate because not a whole lot of people have been infected with it yet to get a more accurate fatality rate.

Still, it's better safe than sorry, by all means! If you suspect that you came into contact with it, do everything that you deem necessary.
