Hi no Seijin

What?  No restarting the chapter if you lose units?  Even if I'm at the end of a chapter and I lose a unit, I immediately turn off the game and restart the chapter.  I love all of them, even the so called "sucky" ones.

Ever heard of a little book called "The Art of War"? Sacrifice is always important.

DW

Yeah, but have you read The Art of e-War? The Reset button is important.

That's what the summoner's phantoms are for.

A sacrifice can often lead to gain if strategic measures are taken.

Hi no Seijin

Or I could use different strategic measures to pwn everything and let all of my units live.

If units were meant to be sacrificed, they would've allowed us to recruit nameless enemy units for our cause.

"Soldier, go break down that wall."

"But I'll be killed by archers."

"That's okay.  They'll replace you."

Dude, have you even tried that chapter? With only eleven units? And with subpar Ally AI? And with, like, fifty superior enemy soldiers? Not easy... :P

Advanceshipping and Rion had better be Chuck Norris approved.

Hi no Seijin

What chapter of what game?  Until one of you give me a Wii, PoR, and RD, I'm assuming all FE games are like TSS.  And after one to three tries at a chapter, I was able to own everything in sight.

Subpar ally AI?  Since when are we talking about Ritz or some random NPC in Sword of Mana?

I've been following this topic since its birth... and yet I have no idea what's going on... >_>

Except that, you know, Resetti from Animal Crossing would hate you, HNS.

Hi no Seijin

Well, I'm going to hate him in Brawl, so we're even.

This is true.... u_u -nod-

Oh, and is FE like Stratego in any way? I love tactical games, but... being short on money makes buying good games kind of hard... u_u

I've never heard of Stratego, but if it's tactical, then it's probably like FE in more ways than one. So, if Stratego can be described as a combination of chess and a typical turn-based RPG, then it's a safe bet that they're alike.

Didn't you hear? They had a cameo. :P

But seriously, there is something like the "recruitable allies" you mentioned earlier in PoR and RD, and you have limited control over them. You can (1) let them do their own thing and have no control over them at all, (2) hold their position, (3) move to a certain point on the map, or (4) avoid enemies completely. Thing is, you can't give commands to only one unit; you do it to one, you do it to all of them. That's where care is needed. And they'll only attack other units when you tell them to Roam (do their own thing)...I think.
