So, I have been sort of bored lately (even with the coming of Brawl, which has taken over approximately 43% of my life) and I picked up a book that my girlfriend had recommended to me.

The book I'm rwading is the 1090 page ballad known as It, by Stephen King. Andf might I tell all of you, i have a newfound fear of clowns.

Basically I made this topic to see if anybody else could recommend me a book to read, preferably of the horror genre.

And you can also discuss Stephen King/It/A fear of clowns here.

THIS IS BATTERY ACID

*ROARRR*

Um, I liked the book.

You should read 'The Taking' by Dean Koontz.  The ending is pretty smexy.

Hi no Seijin

I think Parasite Eve by Hideaki Sena is horror.  *checks*  Yep, science fiction/horror.  I haven't read it myself (yet), but it sounds like an interesting read.

It's all right, but the game isn't any good.  Don't even bother playing it.

MasterKeyX

Thank you for the advice; nothign worse than a waste of cash on  a bad game.

Especially on a game that's a decade old.

Hi no Seijin

According to Wikipedia, Parasite Eve is 319 pages.

As for Tacheon, I'd rather try the game myself.  I think I know someone with one of the games, but unfortunately, he lives in a different city.

I'm trying to tackle the entire Stephen King library right now, but I'm not even a fourth of the way done.

I never got that far in the game of Parasite Eve... XD; I remember the stupid alligator in the sewer. It lived in a sewer.

The movie is ridiculous for It. It could be the fact that I read the book, I watched it a few months ago, and the AMAZING special effects.

I suggest Nightmares and Dreamscapes by Steven King... it's a lot of short stories, but some of them are really good. Also, Misery by Mr. King is a good read. I have a fear of lawnmowers because of that one. 8D

Different Seasons. A novel is an affair; a short story, a kiss.  But Novellas lie in that in-between of ideas and vividness without stretching everything.

Heh, I got the novel/short story analogy above from Skeleton Crew. Lots of good short stories in there.

In regards to Stephen King, I was thinking of reading The Dark Tower books. There are like 7 but I heard they are pretty good.  :P

Im also planning on reading Insomnia and Dreamcatcher.

I also recommend that you read "'Salem's Lot." I loved that book.
What, you expect me to say something witty?

So did I. I also really liked Firestarter. Provided an interesting relation between myself and the world when I was in middle school.

Middle school was a time when I read a fair bit of horror... Dark times, Dark minds, Dark ides.
