Zoras gone extinct?

I dont remember seeing any Zoras in TWW or PH, and the maps for both of them are flooded with oceans. Where did they go? They should be thriving. My only conclusion is that Zoras live in freshwater but Im not sure if that is right. (Accually I'm only half-sure about TWW not having Zoras, I only beat 2/3 of it, but I'm positive there are none in PH.)  :D

Keaton

It's possible the Fishmen came from Zoras.

but there arent any of those Fishmen in PH, now that i think about it, the only frendlies on the sea in PH are those 4 traveller's ships or whatever...  :-\

Anyway, i think your right about the Fishmen coming from Zoras. Maybe the Zoras adapted to the salt water, therefore evolving into Fishmen  :)

Hi no Seijin

If you have finished PH, then you should be able to guess why the Fishmen aren't in there.  Then there are the Zora Warriors, but it's quite a departure in design from the Zoras we all know and love.

Also, unless the seas off of Labrynna's coast are freshwater (which I highly doubt), Zoras have been shown adapted to life in a saltwater environment.  No evolution or anything.

There's also the theory that Ritos evolved from Zoras, but meh.  I don't really care much for that theory now.

There are two types of Zora's. Saltwater and Freshwater. A lot of people recognize saltwater zora's as Zolas or the fire spitting ones. But i would agree with Davy Jones that the fishermen came from Zora.

Quotethe fishermen came from Zora.

No. That's morbid. The FISHmen came from Zora.

Hi no Seijin

Not to mention that I think Zola are more freshwater enemies.

I remember Zola popping up in rivers. And oceans. Pretty much anywhere.

I'm sorry, I just don't remember them coming out of oceans. :-\

Yeah I never saw any in oceans either but then again i never played the N64Zeldas... what is wrong with me? :(
Also the fishmen or mermen or whatever live by themselves so how could they come from Zoras if Zoras live in groups? ::)

Hi no Seijin

1)  Ocarina of Time Hyrule was landlocked.  No oceans to speak of.  Zoras were not enemies anyway.

2)  Majora's Mask had an ocean in it, as well as Zoras, but, again, they weren't enemies.

3)  It's entirely possible that while Zoras usually live in groups, some could have been loners.  They may not be human, but that doesn't mean they don't run the gamut of human emotions and behaviors (well, not all human behaviors, but at least some of them, such as being anti-social).  It's also possible that the Mermen don't live by themselves, but actually in groups, and we just don't see this in TWW.

Maybe the Zoras are all hiding under the oceans in TWW, because Ganon's Bird minion thing scarred them away from the surface or something. :P

DW

I just remember in LoZ they would pop up anywhere there was water, including on the very edges of the screen, where the water was part of an ocean, I assumed.

Hi no Seijin

Meh, that could be an ocean or a river.  At least based on screenshots.  The official map, however....I'm trying to find it.
