Cursing may have been around that long, but not the profane words of A,B,C,D,S,T and the most evil one of all...the F word, certainly were NOT. I am pretty sure those profane words came into being around the time of the British Empire or the 13 Colonies. In other words, a long time after Hyrule! :D

Plus reproduction is a necessity to preserve a species. Profanity has no meaning for existance, it was just made up by some idiots(whom I may clarify came around long after the Great Flood which buried Hyrule beneath the Great Sea for all of eternity.) who wanted to sound "cool", but were really turned out to be complete jerks to anyone other than themselves. >:(

You are a thousand times wrong OM. By the very light that sustains us all, I have taken a solemn oath to never use profanity in my life, or afterlife for that matter. I am like Link, ONE WHO DOES NOT CURSE!!! >:(

1)  What first party game on a Nintendo console does have swearing in it?

2)  What history book are you reading from?  Not only is Hyrule a fictional place (no matter how much we may wish it does exist), but profanity did exist long ago.  As in before the 13 colonies were established.

3)  Link is a silent protagonist.  Of course you're not going to hear him use profanity.

Cussing isn't even evil.  Is it a bad habit?  Perhaps, but using the f-word doesn't necessarily make you evil.  Dude, calm down; it's not so serious that you need to get all worked up over it.

Besides, I find the N word to be more "evil" (I emphasize the quote because I don't believe in judging what is evil and what's not; God should be in charge of that) than the F word. I'm quite sure others would agree...but that's not my point, I guess. ;)

I agree with you there, but that wasn't the reason why I brought up reproduction. I mentioned it for support of my point that you can't base every little thing that goes on in a game on what you've seen and what you can see. There's obviously "behind the scenes" action, and to show all of it in a game would be unwieldy.

Or it was made up by people who are simply different from the norm and who weren't tolerated in society because of its cold, cold nature and tendency to see anything different in a bad light. This happens more often in society than you think. *is an Aspie*

Some would disagree with you. There are times in the Zelda series when you get to choose what he says, such as the "So what if I am?" and the "I hate Ganondorf!" options when you first talk to Nabooru in Ocarina of Time.

You have no idea the kind of suffering I had to endure in High School, constantly hearing the evil F-word..........It made my head scream on the inside! I almost went insane!!! INSANE I TELL YOU!!! :-X :'(

I know quite a few people who use profanity who aren't evil. My mother is quite the devout Christian, but there are times when I hear her dropping an F-bomb. You can bet all your money that she is not evil. She's scary when she's angry, but she is not evil.

You'd have to define what a "true hero" is or what it means to have a human being be classified as "evil", too, but even so, it feels like a lot of this is based on mortal judgment.

The point here is that you don't know for sure what he's saying.  For all we know, he does use a cuss word every now and then.  While it may be your opinion that Link doesn't use profanity, it certainly is not a fact, so please stop treating it like it is.

Whoa, whoa, hold it. We are not calling you crazy (at least I'm not), and we are not trying to turn you away from your beliefs. By all means, believe what you want to believe and stand up for what you believe in.

However, when there is a difference in beliefs, of course there's going to be conflict. In a way, beliefs are like people: there are just some people we cannot get along with. Sure, there are those who think the belief is crazy, but that doesn't mean we think the believer is, too. :)

However, prepare to fight tooth and nail if you use a statement like that in debates. Like it was said before, the world isn't in black and white (although sometimes, I wish it were T.T ), it's in shades of gray. "Right" and "wrong" are absolutes, and you can't pinpoint absolutes as easily in these gray areas. That's because there are so many variables in between, and the "gray" is the very embodiment of these betwixt variables.

For instance, if you pick a number from zero to one, you can't easily say that "the most optimum number" for a given situation is either one or zero. What about .5? .25? .32185926359010923659? The list goes on.

OK, let's say I have a gun, and I shoot, not targeting anyone, you know, just shooting into the void, I would not be harming anyone then.
So, by that very same logic I just emited a sound, it was made by the friction of my lower lip with my upper teeth, followed by the clash of my tongue and the [thing that is above the tongue]. There I said it, alone in my room, it wasn't meant for anybody. Oh I said it again, one, two, three times I said. I'm evil, actually, now I a m three times more evil than before (four if you count the hypothetical shot).
My advice is that you take it easy, tolerance (the few we have) is what is keeping us together, so I suggest you use it from time to time.
OK, OK, I give up, you seem to have a strong will against cursing, you could use that willpower to acomplish great things if you can channel it correctly.

You see, I told my mom and my friend about this belief, and they both think I'm crazy. ???

I'm not sure how or why, but something deep within me tells me Hyrule was at one time a real place(you can laugh now). On Earth too. Thats one reason I keep insisting that Hyrule WAS on Earth(if you've seen any of my other forums). I just feel these games, rather, these LEGENDS are too incredible to be purely fantasy. :o
