It all have things to do with business. Ever wondered why there's been such a lacking of news lately? In order to get the best sales they need to build the hype at the right time.

I believe they are waiting for E3 to create a massive hype by releasing tons of new info and a release date. Any earlier and the hype may die down before the release.

Actually, that makes tons of sense. Hypes could, indeed, affect sales to Nintendo's advantage, giving people the impression that it's that good.
